When I was a student, I always dreamed to visit Hoi An, so after graduated, I traveled there three times in just one year, so Beautiful and I really love it. I tried to cycle around the field in Hoi An, went to the lovely beaches, immerged myself in the night time, enjoyed local foods and coffee. Fascinating!!!!!!!
That sounds amazing! We were barely able to scratch the surface of the entirety of this amazing city. With being on a budget and only having 30 days in the country, it proved quite challenging to do everything we’d set our minds to, but we loved it non the less! Just a reason to come back again and explore further! Thanks so much for watching! 🥰
Been watching a couple of your videos. I'm originally from Hoian. And to be honest, you guys have one of the most adventurous spirit I've seen, not being afraid to try the local stuff. And also very strong stomach LOL. Kudo.
Thank you! We find that food is such a huge part of culture, so we love experiencing a culture through its cuisine. ☺️ It’s half the reason we travel! We can’t wait to get back to Vietnam and have some more delicious food. Thanks so much for watching! 🤗
Oh I don’t think we could ever truly capture the real beauty of Hoi An! It’s something you have to see with your own eyes and experience! Thank you so much for the compliment! 🥰🥰
Ahh Hoi An! One of my favorite spots we’ve ever been! This made me miss it so much. Definitely a good spot if you’re looking to get clothes. I also got some sandals made!
Another outstanding video! I love che; and there are hundreds of variations. If you get the chance next time, try "che thai," "suong sa hat luu," and "che trai cay."
Good morning Mike and Ashley, Wow! Seems like you had a great time in Hội An. Never been there myself, so everything looks amazing to me. Like your shirt Mike. Polaroid …sounds like dinosaur age to my kids but it looks cool to me! Yay! With your professional traveling experience, I think trying the street food, like you two had been doing, is a must especially when it comes to snack foods! Don’t know where else you went in Vietnam, but Hà Nội, Hạ Long Bay, and Ninh Bình is highly recommended. If you didn’t this time, make sure that they are included in your next trip back to Vietnam. Like I said before, I left the country decades ago, I didn’t have the opportunity to travel around, so watching your traveling experience videos gives me the chance to do it vicariously. Thank you so much for doing all the …hard work, lots of walking, sweating, …and finally editing everything into beautiful videos for us to enjoy. Much appreciated. Best of luck to you both. Take care.
Hey @ando9670! 👋☺️ We did have a great time! And I love this shirt too! 😂 We definitely go to all of those places you mentioned too, just wait, I think those vlogs will be epic! We’re working through all of our footage now. Trying to post a bit more frequent too! 🤞 Super happy you enjoy the videos! Means the world to us to hear that. ☺️🙏
20 years has passed since I visited , Hoi An has look so different today , more bustling live full of tourist with more food stalls . Many foreigners has visited and enjoyed Hoi An also not very far is Da Nang where most foreigners choose for long term stay .
Such a long time! I imagine it has changed a lot. We had a lovely time here. We have a new video coming out today from the rest of our trip where we explore a bit more and try some more delicious food! Then, our next vlog is from Đà Nẵng. We were only there for a day though, so we had to make the best of it! ☺️
So, the first best thing in Vietnam is food, right? Thousands of kinds of various food. Yummy. Everytime I watch your video (excellent by the way), you guys always make my mouth water. Thank you so much for teasing me that hard.
That is absolutely one of the highlights, and one of the things were most excited to return for! We've got our tickets booked now. 🤗 It's hard not to have your mouth water when we think of Vietnamese food. 😋 Thanks for following along with our adventures!
Just wanted to say I really like your videos. And I watch a ton! They are so helpful to figuring out what to do and where to go. But your videos are some of my favorite. So thanks!
Great food adventure. Great video. Love it. The coconut stall is ... "out of a story book! Disney's story book ... ' :) Love: "...rice outshine the chicken".... Love Ashley's spot on reactions. Where did Mike get his food critique vocabulary? So brilliant! So brilliant! #5stars

Wow there are many things you guys are trying that I dont even recognize, and I'm pretty familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, i'm super impressed how adventurous you guys are.
Hoi An is super beautiful! Can't wait to go back. We all have those travel days though, where it seems nothing is working out..shops and restaurants that are meant to be open end up being randomly closed. But all you can do is make the best of it! Did you guys end up getting to go to the restaurant you wanted before you left? Just watching this makes be dream of cao lầu. Sooo gooood. 🤤
We didn’t! 😩 But, we ended up trying so many dishes that we feel like we completed our mission. 😂 I like to say “in travel, you have to plan everything but plan on nothing,” because that’s how it is sometimes. We try Cao Lầo in the next vlog. 🙏
Everywhere has shortcomings! We’d never judge an entire country on them! We absolutely love Vietnam and want to explore every city and province! Such a magical country. ☺️🙏
Hoi An World Heritage Site is recognized by UNESCO with historical architecture, vibrant local markets and rich culinary culture, the people here are really cute, wish you two have a trip to Hoi An Ancient Town full of joy and happiness ^^
You should try Bún Chả Hà Nội, that restaurant president Obama ate there last time, its very good and very famous vietnamese foods. That restaurant is in Hà Nội city
Hi there we going to to Ho Chi Minh City this coming December 19 also I wanna see Hoi An. My question do we take bus to get there or need to book flight .
That’s awesome! You can do either. A bus ride from HCMC to Hoi An may be quite long though. You could fly to Da Nang and then take a bus or van to Hoi An from there. ☺️
Wow! So many memories flooding back, I know we say it so much but this was one of our favourite spots and you guys are bringing back all the memories! We actually got some clothes made there, not quite a full suit but Silke got a cute dress and I got a real nice shirt! Can we ask, did you have to pay to enter Hoi An City? We heard that they are charging people now which is crazy!
It was such a fun time. I feel like we could have done a bit more exploring outside of the ancient city, we’ve heard that there are so many incredible things to see and do, but that will just have to be for next time! There were ticket booths that would charge you to go into the covered bridge and some of the Chinese temples, but we didn’t get charged anything the whole time, except for the little boat ride we take. We want to go back and get a bunch of clothes made. This won’t be our last time in Hoi An! Thanks for watching guys! 🥰🙏
@@SilkyRonTheRoad yes. For individual guests, it is encouraged to buy tickets, but it is not mandatory. If you buy a ticket, it is good, but if you don't, that's fine too.
@@mikeandashley I've watched and enjoyed a few of your previous Vietnam videos too! Really liked them all! Are you folks going to continue exploring more of Vietnam? Please say yes!
That’s awesome! Thanks for checking them out. Yea, we have some more vlogs coming from our time in Vietnam for sure! And we plan on a return visit later when they extend the Visa duration. So hopefully, we’ll have even more coming at a later date. We have a new vlog from Hoi An coming out today around noon (Vietnam time) also I’d you’re free! We’ll be in the premiere chat, so come say hi! 👋☺️
It's surprising because you guys are new to youtube but so professional, the channel will grow soon. Let's travel to Vietnam a bit more, I'm Vietnamese but I'm also surprised because there are many videos made by foreigners about Vietnam on youtube. I don't see anyone making videos in Alaska and talking about life in Alaska. A state that I think is quite isolated and little information is discovered.
Thank you so much! ☺️🥰 Vietnam is very inspirational for us in our travels. Such a beautiful place to explore full of warm people, rich history and incredible cuisine. Funny enough, we left Alaska to travel to Southeast Asia. We’d been living there for the past five years. We didn’t even think to make videos during our time in Alaska. It was our travels that inspired us to make these video reminders of our trips. We’re very happy that you enjoy the quality of our vlogs. It warms our hearts to receive comments like this one. Truly, thank you.
Best foods in the country are in Sài Gòn. I never been in the North Viet Nam, but a lot the peoples says the foods cant compare to Sài Gòn and the seafoods too.. Sài Gòn is still the best of the best in the country
With the word SaiGon in your handle and the fact you've never been to northern Vietnam, you MAY be slightly biased. I'd say the Central region probably has the best food. HCMC is too sweet and that makes it one-note, especially if you can barely differentiate the savory from the sweet anymore. Northern has the opposite problem, one-noted on the salt in their savory dishes, but at least they aren't heavy-handed with the sugar in their savory dishes. Central region has the best balance and they also tend to have more spice/heat in their foods...that's where a lot of the good and unique dishes come from as they used to serve the rulers.
We’ve noticed that! We LOVE spicy too, so we found the best chili sauces in central Vietnam. We were so lucky to be able to get from South to North to experience the different flavors of each region. Next time, we’ll be able to spend a little more time in each as we won’t be rushed and really experience the places we visit. 😊
I believe Ashley has been to 10 and I’ve been to 9. 6 of those have been this year! We got a really late start with traveling, so now we’re trying to make up for lost time I suppose. 🤗
Sorry you don’t care for our travel vlogs. Maybe you would enjoy our Hanoi video (we give a bit more information in that one). Either way, we only ever set out to share our experiences; we’ve never claimed to be historians or travel guides. Thanks for watching! 😊
It seems that you are not proficient in using google maps, as long as you type the way, it will point from where you are standing to where you are looking.
Unfortunately that’s not ALWAYS the case. In this case, it had us 3 blocks away from the alley the food cart was located in. We’ve navigated most countries we’ve traveled well enough, sometimes Google just likes to send you on a quest! 😂🤷♂️🤷♀️
I think destinations like this are very good but the food here is really expensive, a lot more expensive than usual. If you love Vietnamese food, get to know a local and they will give you delicious meals at very reasonable prices.
This is usually the case. That’s why we try to see a mix of places in our travels if we can. When we return to continue exploring Vietnam, we want to venture into more local towns and cities, not just the main attractions.
BTW, no one buys that gimmicky ice cream for it's taste...it's trendy and popular with the younger kids because they can pop it in their mouth and blow out the "smoke" like a dragon through the mouth and nose. Every Westerner that's tried it was expecting it to have a good taste, but it's just basically crunchy air (rice crackers?) that has flavored syrup on it.
I’m not sure it’s ruined, just different maybe? 🤷♂️🤷♀️ However, we have only seen it in its current state. I would have loved to experience Hoi An 20+ years ago. Sorry you feel the industry has damaged the city. We at least do our best to be respectful travelers. Thanks for watching. ☺️
Why don't you tell us how much you pay for things, such as the shoes, that is what we are waiting for, nice to see you having a good time, but we need to get some value out of watching e.g. hints, tips and prices - if you are just showing us you both having a good time, will unsubscribe - my time is valuable.
Please don't buy "Kem khoi" from anywhere, it is the worst food for the money that you want to spend. It should cost round 20% of what they charged you. And don't get me wrong, i am also vietnamese; yet i don't recommend you all to buy or try it out since it has no flavor and over-charge
@@mikeandashley he certainly didn't say you, he said that ungrateful judge❤ I watched with my girlfriend, she said your girlfriend's voice is so sweet and cute.

Thanks so much! That means the world to us. 🥰❤️
Wow there are many things you guys are trying that I dont even recognize, and I'm pretty familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, i'm super impressed how adventurous you guys are.
Thanks! We’re relatively adventurous… but certainly not all the way there!
I like to say “in travel, you have to plan everything but plan on nothing,” because that’s how it is sometimes.
We try Cao Lầo in the next vlog. 🙏
You are welcome in Vnam..i love
Thank you so much! 🥰🥰🥰
@12.26 bit cheeky there😂
😂🍌🥞
Hoi an just small town good for walk and snack your welcome going back soon ☺️
Hoi Ăn is amazing. We loved it.
Your country is magical! Such an amazing place to visit.
Thank you for coming to our country. Wish you have a happy trip and great experiences. There are shortcomings, please forgive them
Everywhere has shortcomings! We’d never judge an entire country on them! We absolutely love Vietnam and want to explore every city and province! Such a magical country. ☺️🙏
@@mikeandashley Thank you, I subscribed to your channel and will follow you everywhere
Thank you! 🥰🙏🥰🙏
This is video travel very good. Thank you for introducing the beautiful culture of Vietnam to friends around the world❤
Thank you so much! 🥰 That compliment makes us smile! 😁
Hoi An World Heritage Site is recognized by UNESCO with historical architecture, vibrant local markets and rich culinary culture, the people here are really cute, wish you two have a trip to Hoi An Ancient Town full of joy and happiness ^^
Thanks so much! We dive much more into the culinary culture in our next video! We LOVED exploring Hoi An!
Outstanding video quality 💛
Thank you so much! ☺️🤗
You should try Bún Chả Hà Nội, that restaurant president Obama ate there last time, its very good and very famous vietnamese foods. That restaurant is in Hà Nội city
We’ve heard of it! ☺️🙏 Thanks for the tip!
No charges at all. Vietnamese people protest that so they stop that plan.
Not everyone who enter Hoi An will be charged a fee. It's for tour group from travel agencies
@@vinanews9841 ahh really? That’s good, it’s a beautiful place that everyone should experience! ✨🙏🏼✨
@@SilkyRonTheRoad yes. For individual guests, it is encouraged to buy tickets, but it is not mandatory. If you buy a ticket, it is good, but if you don't, that's fine too.
Came across your channel by chance and I got hooked. Subscribed and watched another 5 videos in a row. I have enjoyed watching your videos. Great job!
That’s awesome! 🥰🙏 Thanks so much for giving us a chance! We’re happy you’re along for the ride. 🤗
Chào mừng hai bạn tới VietNam ! Chúc chuyến đi vui vẻ, ý nghĩa, bình an !
Thanks so much! ☺️🙏
I was like the restaurant is on your right side…but figure out..there’s no way you can hear me lol…
😂😅 We wish we had you with us! We spent quite a while looking for this places lol. Better luck next time! Thanks for watching. 🤗
Hai bạn muốn thử ẩm thực Việt thì phải ra hàng chục video clip đó!
We could never try it all! There is so much, and it’s all so delicious. ☺️ We’ll just have to come back. 🤗🤗
Loving the long form vlog style! Keep it up! :D
Thanks so much! We’re glad you enjoy it! We are having a lot of fun making them. ☺️ Is this the first video of ours you’ve seen?
nice video!
Thanks so much! ☺️🙏
Mm. We do miss Saigon. Every city in Vietnam is so unique!
Thanks for supporting us again! ☺️🙏
lol hey that’s my dad hometown! ya going everywhere
We’re trying! Vietnam is amazing, so we want to explore as much as we can. ☺️🙏 Thanks for watching!
If you are still there, don't forget to try cao lầu, it's one of my most fav dish
We’ve got you! 😉
อาหารและขนมน่ากินทุกอย่างเลยโหฮ่ยอานสวยงามมากๆ
It is! We’re very fortunate to be able to experience so many beautiful places!
Good good
Thanks for watching! ☺️🙏
How many countries have you guy been to in total?
I believe Ashley has been to 10 and I’ve been to 9. 6 of those have been this year! We got a really late start with traveling, so now we’re trying to make up for lost time I suppose. 🤗
@@mikeandashleySo after traveling in Vietnam, which country will you go to?

You have a lovely hometown. ☺️
Your video is so indulgent without any information. Zero out of ten.
❤❤❤
🥰🥰
Aye !
🥰🥰🙏🙏
👌
🥰
I think destinations like this are very good but the food here is really expensive, a lot more expensive than usual. If you love Vietnamese food, get to know a local and they will give you delicious meals at very reasonable prices.
It’s always good to know a local! We met so many nice people on our trip in Hoi An. 🥰🥰
This is a tourist place. In many countries most of the tourist places are in higher prices. You should know that.
This is usually the case. That’s why we try to see a mix of places in our travels if we can. When we return to continue exploring Vietnam, we want to venture into more local towns and cities, not just the main attractions.
Nicest cus u have the dollar bro u walking atm machine to them fact
We found that everyone was super kind, in and outside of the tourist zones. Even people who didn’t expect a thing in return.
Hi
Hello! ✌️☺️
You are funny..
Thanks! 😂☺️
😂 Yea, it didn’t taste very good. 😖 We had just seen so many people order it, so we figured we’d give it a shot. Never again lol.
Like Disney story book. You summed it up. Over tourism has turned it into a Disneyland. Overly commercial, conjugated. Ruined.
We typically include prices and conversions, but we must have missed this one. The shoes were 450k dong, which is about $18 USD.
That Little balls with smoke is not good don’t buy has no taste just for show
Now you tell us! 😅😂
Please don't buy "Kem khoi" from anywhere, it is the worst food for the money that you want to spend. It should cost round 20% of what they charged you. And don't get me wrong, i am also vietnamese; yet i don't recommend you all to buy or try it out since it has no flavor and over-charge
B.S !
Noted! We definitely won’t be getting it again lol. It wasn’t tasty at all.
I want see till end of this video 😅but I can’t stand her voice, why she can’t talk normal 😮I got headache hear her voice 😮😊
Sorry you feel that way. That’s just her voice. 😔 And I think it’s beautiful. 🥰
