I just spent an hour on Amazon pricing and looking at reviews for purse inserts. I came across this video and you have been the answer to my problem! Can't wait to make one. Just returned home from fabric store. WOW! they had so many colors of the felt! Could not decide on the color I wanted so I came home with 3 colors. Thank you for your video, I have been needing an organizer and could never find one I liked. You are amazing!

So wonderful, quick and easy! My sewing machine came along just three days before and I'm waiting to begin doing all the great and little things I can do with my old jeans and T - shirts l left in an old box to sew when time's coming! Thank you so much for this relative easy way to make me proud to try a new hobby! When I was a teen l got a new Rikka but it always broke their needles. So after a while I let it be until now there was an extreme good price for a singer brilliance 6180. I immediately had to buy it remembering all the things I wanted to sew in my life. Now I'll start, thanks to your excellent briefing to us to do so. God bless you! Please excuse my English, it's not half as well as l want it to be. But l try and learn.

what a cute idea! This is a must do project for me. Going to make a few for my sisters for gifts. only thin giffernt I would do is once I had my pocket situated i would open up the entire piece making pinning much easier. How cute! Cant wait to get started. Thanks for sharing :)

Great Tutorial, i,'ve been sewing for a long time, so I generally make my checkbook covers along with my makeup bags now i,'ll add another bag, Thxs for the idea. I,'ll make some generic ones out of felt for my everyday bag. Thxs for sharing.

OhAmy...we moved to the summer home last year and love it !! It was never purchased to live in it but we came down when Jim retired and never wanted to leave - sold the other home and here we are in Florida for good ! xo p

What is the sizing for the bigger one?
The larger one is 13 x 13 and then the pocket strip is 12 x 6 (its only a little bit bigger but it catches on the zipper of my purse so I had to make one a little smaller for my shorter purses. If you have a large purse, just make the base bigger and make sure not to make the pocket strip too tall otherwise it would be hard to get your items out of the pockets. Thanks for watching ! HUGS :)

Hi Amy, Great tutorial. Would this work with regular material? or should it be felt.
yes, you could do this with regular fabric but it won't be as sturdy. You would want to use layered regular fabric with some interfacing to stiffen it up a bit so it will stand nicely in your purse.
I saw a video where suicide used old denim jeans, but it didn't interest me.

Thank you ! It is such a quick and easy project to do and you can make them for so many different uses. You can make it the size of a sandwich back with pockets on the outside for napkins, plastic utensils.....so many possibilities. Thanks for watching !! HUGS :)

Thank you Lis :) I think I got that one from Joann Fabrics, but I also buy my felt from Walmart in their fabric isle (not all Walmarts have the fabric section where they cut fabric by the yard for you, but ours does and they have great prices and fabric options). Thanks for watching....HUGS :)

Just an inexpensive felt by the yard from Joann Fabrics. Its not the low quality craft felt that you find in the crafting isle that comes in precut squares.
