The PJ's will be great, I knew you would say Brackenridge Henley! The blanket!--genius. Theresa, thanks for sharing and good job planning, we love to witness your sewing journey, you do a fabulous job.
You are going to LOVE the DIBY pattern! I made a reversible one for my granddaughter and she wears it often during the chillier months. Have fun making & wearing it. It’s easy!😀
I got on that one straight away and am almost finished with it. I have to say that my fabric choice made it a lot harder than it needed to be. It does not like going through my machine!! 😂
I am helping my sister make that Henley top. It looks pretty straightforward. Yours is going to be gorgeous, warm and perfect for the Christmas season. The Oodie is going to be terrific for cozy evenings at home. Haven't checked the specific pattern you are going to make but I did see another Vlogger mention concerns about how wide/bulky the sleeves were. Her worry was they might interfere with crafting arm mobility. Keep it in mind as you are sewing it up 😉 so no excuses for not completing your projects. The dresses will great. Love the idea of matching to your lining. The button you got for the brazer is amazing. And if you've seen enough of my Instagram posts you know I believe in long sleeves, all year round 😁.
Thanks, Nancy! I love the color of the Henley and agree, it will be perfect for Christmas. Thanks for the heads up about the sleeves... I'm expecting to be able to pull my sleeves up, but I will certainly bear it in mind. Having said that, I always get hot when I sew. I rarely need to bundle up to the same degree. Is it just me?
@@LostMyThread you're too young for hot flashes... Stress reaction? We're 'helping the planet' thermometer is set at 16! Never too warm now😂😂😂. Guess who needs an Oodie 😉
@@nancyhilborn885 haha, I think we all need them these days! My guess is that it's more of a mental exertion thing. I must be concentrating pretty hard! Pressing definitely adds to it, though.
My husby got me an Oodie for my birthday last year. It's really cute and I like it, but it is two layers of fluffy and warm polyester fabric. I can get a little too warm when I'm wearing it. I definitely wear it with leggings and a tank top so I'm not a complete warm and cozy sweaty mess, lol! I recently made a Muna and Broad Medlow Robe from a queen size flannel flat sheet and it went so well that I've just cut out another one! I'm so excited because the robe I'm going to make is a winter print with trees and animals; it's going to be so cute! Can't wait to see all of your winter makes!
Aww, that winter robe sounds adorable! Now I want one!! 😆 I have a thick, fluffy polyester robe that I wear pretty constantly in the winter. I'm hoping that my Billie can replace it because the robe's sleeves get into everything. We'll see how I go.
What great makes for a warm snuggly winter. Looking forward to seeing the heather blazer and matching dress. Looking at the first dress, it really looks to have very generous ease - perhaps sizing down on that like the D&D Myosotis dress(?) can’t wait to see your Henley, I’ve been eyeing that pattern for a while and thought about making it for myself and my son. Hope your teddy bear blanket does the trick… my first thought when you brought it into view was- elephant! 😅 It came across blue- grey. Keep warm!
Elephant! Haha! I was thinking that I might look like a muppet. 😉 It is a blue grey. I love the color. I'm planning to look at the finished garment measurements of the Nicks Dress. Because I'm using viscose, I think it will drape well, and the elastic channel will take it in at the waist. I think I'll end up going with my high bust measurement, which will be about 2 sizes smaller than my full bust measurement (they draft for a b sewing cup in my size). I'll double check before I go nuts. I think the matching is going to be so fun!
Lovely plans, all great projects but I got two favourites! I love the Nicks dress, quite tempted to make it myself now actually 😘 and the blanket robe is adorable, very appropriate for the cold winter months ❤️❤️
Thank you so much, Alisa! I think you'd look fab in the Nicks dress. I say go for it! And seriously, I say wearable blankets for all! I think my husband is going to be seriously jealous. 😉
I have a wearable blanket that is long enough to go to my feet and it has a feet pocket on the inside to keep my toes toasty. I have to waddle around like a penguin to walk around with it but it is very cosy when I am sitting on the couch or at my desk with it
I'll be making the kangaroo pouch for sure. You can always place that wherever you want! It's not the prettiest make or the most fun to sew, but I'm expecting it to get the most wear of all!
Great plans Teresa, Especially the Uddy. I was given none stretch knit fabric years ago, an uddy might be a perfect use for it. I watched one of your old videos yesterday, so last night we watched Rashomon (My husband Chris, youngest son Jack (age 15) and myself) it was an experience, Jack said he liked it.
I think it would be perfect! And so warm. I am definitely a fan of that movie. My husband and I reference it a lot, when we're talking about people all having a different recollection of the same event. I'm glad your son liked it!
Oh my gosh, I'm so glad you mentioned the Billie wearable blanket! I wanted to make some in the winter for my boys but the DIBY club page seemed to be shut down - it must have just been temporary! Yay! I'll have to give that pattern a go next year! Can't wait to see how everything turns out.
Hi Teresa. I’ve just found your channel for the first time and enjoyed your plans video. I’m about to make the Tilly and the Buttons Billie sweatshirt with the stay at home and sew transfer on it! Diana
Thanks for taking a chance on a new channel, Diana! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it. The Billie Sweatshirt seems absolutely perfect for this time of year. The transfers look great. Have fun trying something new!
Hi Teresa, as soon as I saw your blue corduroy I thought of the Fable dress by Twig and Tales in the snow which I made last year. Go and check it: it has darts, princess seams, buttons or not and FBA and you can fully line it for your warmth which I did with some heavy quilting cotton. instructions are superb with videos as well and despite being a beginner I manage to make a very nice and cosy dress!
Oh, it looks like such a beautiful dress! Quite a few people went for corduroy, which is making me more excited for mine. I will stick with the Myosotis, just because I'm trying to use what I've got and not buy new patterns unless I really need to. It's a beautiful design, though! I'd love to see your version. Are you on Instagram?
That is making me even more excited about it! It seems so perfect for the time of year. I am leaning towards the long sleeves. It's just so convenient to have 3/4 length for work!
Love the ex zara fabric, ive had my eye on it too as its doing the rounds in a few fabric shops and should look lovely in the Nicks dress. I'm the same as you Theresa......not bought anything ready to wear since 2019. Even made knickers. Its great that you can match patterns to replace your well loved items too. Great plans and that DIBY hoodie will be so cosy.
It really is gorgeous fabric. I decided to go for it because Harriet at Sew Me Sunshine said that it's the last time they'll get the ex Zara fabric. I didn't want to miss my chance! It's pretty empowering to make everything that you wear. I've made one pair of underwear and have plans to make more. They're just never as exciting as the other garments. I absolutely love my me-made pair the most, though!
Yay! I loved your vlogmas last year! I don't have any sewing plans right now, just lacking the energy. But I am knitting! I'm making Nissejentelue by Frøydis Fadum for every kid in the family. And after I already knitted two of them it was released that årets julklapp 2022 (Christmas gift of the year) here in Sweden are the homemade knitted gift. I'm so on trend this year! 😉
I've had a look at the pattern, and it looks absolutely adorable! That scene on Christmas will be priceless! What a beautiful gift. I'm really looking forward to vlogmas!
I’m making Cashmerette’s new pants in a wool blend & lined. Our gas prices here in the Netherlands was double but now just over 30% more, I think. Years ago, I made my entire family oversized hooded fleece “robes”. We loved them.
Those Cashmerette pants look life changing!! You'll have to let me know how you get on with them. Oversized hooded fleece robes sound like just the thing in the winter! Loving the coziness!

How cool that you were able to get the same fabric in another colorway! It will be beautiful, I'm sure. I could definitely see making the blouse, if I like the dress. I recently sewed a batch of pants, so I'm relieved to be safe on that front for a while!
