I’m so glad I stumbled across your channel. I bought a 200p DS over 10 years ago to start astrophotography but due to various circumstances it’s mainly collected dust while I concentrated on terrestrial photography. My 6 year old has recently developed an interest in astronomy so I’m going to dig it out and try again. Knowing that this OTA still impresses is reassuring and you’ve already given me vital info concerning OAG.
Thank you so much! It's so nice to hear about your 6 year old having fun with astronomy. I'm glad you like my video(s) and hope you keep watching. ;) Yes, I also see many people using this very scope and creating very cool images.. Clear skies and happy new year. :)
I used that rubber gasket on the far end of the finder scope to fill in the gap between housing and scope. Otherwise the end is loose and not snug. Perhaps others have found another or the correct way to place this gasket?
Hi John, that's really something.. 😄 I think it will eat my HEW5-Pro for breakfast but let's see.. I hope I will get some nice images. :) Thanks for watching! Have a great rest of the weekend and clear skies.
Good luck Tully! I just got my GSO 8inch f5 and it’s Amazing! I’ve also got it on my Sirius eq-g (heq5) with my asiair, EAF, and Oag, it’s about 25 pounds of payload, still tracks good! Had to use three counterweights. Clear skies!
Hey Trevor! Thanks so much for you valuable feedback,. Really appreciate it. 👍🏼That's really interesting to know...to get feedback about your experiences with your new scope (congrats!). I was exactly thinking the same: Do I need an additional weight?... Thanks for watching & clear skies!
What a beast Tully this is going to be a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing how you get on Tully. You have the joys of collimation and balancing ahead. BTW a little USB powered fan at the bottom(attach to some plastic or something) will save you having to have a dew shield and works really well. 👍👍Happy ISS hunting
Hey Ollie! So true...it's a beast. It will eat my HEQ5-Pro for lunch.. 😄 Really can't wait to be challenged with that one. Thanks for the hint with the computer fan. I just saw one of your 150 PDS videos ("Backyard Astrophotography with the Skywatcher 150 PDS") This is really helpful. I will try to find one. Did you just glue it? I also saw you put something in between - not to have vibrations from the fan? This manual ISS tracking will also be a challenging one.. ;) Clear skies pal
@@tullyfisher Hey Michael from memory I used some of those 3M things used for hanging pictures. I cut out a piece of like plastic to the size of the mirror at the back, then clipped the fan to this and then attached this to the back again just using those 3m clips. Feel free to Facebook PM me pal 👍
Were you already able to test the scope mount combination. I’ve heard from many people that it’s actually fine and they put like a heavy dslr, eaf and guiding setup on it.
Hello. Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, I was already able to test, but I didn't have the time to do the image post processing. But looking good so far with the raw files. It's actually really not a perfect combination. A slight wind is already enough to disturb your guiding. Clear skies.
Sorry for the late response, YT did not show your comment. - Since I'm actually already too high with the total setup weight for this mount I'm using an Off-axis guider. You can find my "pimping video" of the 200PDS here ruclips.net/video/zdqlaFQq7Q0/видео.html Clear skies. :)
@@tullyfisher absolutely no problem. If I am gonna go and get the ota a off axis guide should be bought with it. I noted that down haha but which camera do you use for guiding I’ve got a zwo 290

Clear skies Tully, great light bucket and will get you some lovely images.
Hey Glenn! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I will do my very best to handle this beast. 😄 Clear skies

Hi Antonio. Thanks very much for this hint. I will definitely try this. 👍🏼 Thanks for watching and commenting! Clear skies.
Wow Michael, that is some telescope 😊. You'll have a lot of fun with that I think.

Bravo! fantastic ! catch ya later. Tully!🖐
Hey! Hope this scope will be as good as it seems to be. :-) Clear skies! 🖐🏻
Is the Skywatcher HEQ5 OK to mount this beast on?
Yes, at the moment I'm using the HEQ5 Pro but it's really no optimal. I would rather recommend to use a HEQ6. ;) cs
gratulation for a nice telescope for THAT money !
Thanks!
Wow!!! Sh1t da bed!! ❤❤massive
Haha...😄 Thanks! Clear skies
я Целестрон С11 из Китая получил полтора месяца назад. Все нормально и таких заморочек не было. Все проще былою
