I brought that pot to make my apples. Truly easier and candy cooked evenly. Easy to dip too! However, I'm having trouble inserting my straws. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Please help! #candyapplediva
Yes, indeed that candy apple pot ain’t no joke. It has a heavy bottom and this is why your candy apples always come out even. Then with my perfect candy apple recipe you will always be a winner and have success making candy apples. I didn't use my regular candy apple pot in this particular video because I had homemade caramel in it for my caramel apples. Are your straws bending? Usually this happens when the top is still wet. I usually wait the next day to insert my paper straws. Insert your paper straws the exact way you inserted your wooden sticks. If this doesn't work then try this trick to expand that apple hole up just a tad bit like in this video, but you must make sure you dry the top very good because you will end up with bubbles at the top of your candy apples. Some people like to also cut their straws down to the stick before dipping their apples, because if you're not holding your sticks more towards the apple while dipping your apples, the straws can bend at the end as well.
