While most prog/djent bands nowadays sound so similar and over complicated, here comes Vola with a completely new sound. This album is amazing and original, I can't stop listening to it! Keep it up guys!
You described them perfectly. Like you said, I love me some prog but often times it's too intense from start to finish, vola really did give it a mellow and unique touch.
As a former addict I just want to thank you for putting out a song like this. It seems that this is written from the perspective of a close friend or loved one to the addict, but I have a certain appreciation for it as one who is a former addict.
This music is not for everyone, it's for those with very good taste in music. I'm glad that everyone is here and enjoying this beautiful piece. Thank you VOLA

my life is much better from listening this daily when driving - same for the whole album, actually. stellar song and album. it's even hard to rate them :)
I've recently found out about Vola and I have been thoroughly been listening to Witness (very good album btw) and I am trying out the rest of their music. Get to this track and I can't stop watching and listening to this. There is just so much here. The video itself is so charming to me. The art style of the animation is filled with personality and thought. I can really see the love and care put into it. It is such a stunning art piece on it's own merit. The first minute alone sucks you in with curiosity. Why are they there and what are they looking for? How I interpret it is a search for meaning. Looking for an out of body experience for knowledge or a rebirth of sorts. Then the details throughout the video. Almost every frame cut is in time with the song. The few frames of screen burn of sorts during the rebirth section is just such a nice touch although I don't know if it's intentional but I hope it is, then during the line "claim to see" the hands pull out eyes. (I know kind of on the nose but they didn't have to put it there at that time but they did anyway) and then the heartbeat drums during the new heart scene. I can not get enough of this. Then the song itself is so damn good. To repeat what others are saying the riffs, the synths, the piano, the bass, and the drums are just stellar. What really shines for me is the mix. The engineering and composition is fantastic. Where the instruments and vocals are placed throughout the mix is an overlooked art too so I applaud that. Then there's how the song is made to get stuck in your head in a good way. I can't get the chorus out of my head, but to give credit where it's due so far from what I've heard Vola always has catchy choruses. I'd have to listen the this an impossible amount of times to get tired of it so not anytime soon. I wasn't intending on writing paragraphs but this song and music video is something very special and I hope they see and read this and know that their effort and talent wasn't unnoticed. Truly talented and passionate group of people and I am eagerly looking forward to new stuff from Vola. TLDR; This song and video are REALLY good :]
I been following this guys since the release of Smartfriend. After listening Inmazes they got me hooked up. By the 3 songs already relesaed of Applause of a Distant Crowd I would say this one will be amazing too. Thank you Vola for your music!
@@madeofwax92 Inmazes was the first song I heard from them, thanks to discover weekly on spotify. love the album and near all their material so far. I've got my physical copy on way!
I come back to this song every time I need a pick me up. Idk what exactly it is about it, but that chorus always puts me such an awesome place emotionally
Love this song and band! I love the live version on Live from the Pool. Vola, Plini, Jakub Zytecki, David Maxim Micic, Voyager, and Massface should do a big tour if possible! ❤️😉
"Witness" is definitely top #1 album of the year in my personal list After some time (basically some hundreds repeats of witness) it's finally time to re-listen ur older works ;) Still taking goosebumps tho, great job guys :)
This track has now become my favourite Vola track, overtaking starburn. If people watched the video that was created as part of the album process they’ll realise they recorded the album with a live sounding approach in mind and instruments were created more loosely. I love this approach and the fact it’s not completely perfect and tight, it gives it atmosphere. Don’t at all get the flat comments either. The songs completely in key. 💥 Looking forward to the album guys.
Gorgeous sound mix. I keep trying to find a way to describe it but I'll just leave it at the fact that your music resonates with me at a level beyond what I can accurately or adequately describe.
This is unique band, I have never heard mix like that of guitars and synths from other bands, I feel like Im in ocean and sound waves covering me from all sides
Yeah - you guys know how to write MELODY and not over-complicate things! Loved watching you at Damnation Festival last year (and Bloodstock!) and can't wait to see you you play again soon
Fav out of the three songs released so far! Awesome work guys, can't wait for the new album. That opening and closing riff can't be listened to at a high enough volume!
Discovering VOLA might just be the best thing that happened to me in 2021.
What got me by in 2020. Enjoy
I agree
I’ve been listening them for the past hour with tears of joy in my eyes lol what a fucking tornado of fresh air , I absolutely love them
I second this...
2020 🙋🏻♂️

YES BOYS. This, and everything from the new record is sounding killer!
They are like minded European brothers to you, right? (coming back again soon?)
Such a great album ay. Best of the year for me.

They sound insanely fresh and unique. They are completely their own sound
Dat intro riff doe... I was so pumped when it came back in as the outro.
nice cover picture bro, absolutely love that EP
I would like to see the tabs because it's really complicated...
@@gluonpa6878I remember learning it when it came out. I found it much harder then it sounded to me
Yes!!! The most epic thing 😎 fucking awesome 👌 👏
I get that feeling when I play it
Very Steven Wilson/Jess Cope inspired. Love it
This song represents the maturity that the band has reached. A perfect sound
very awesome
What do you think of the new record?
This is a freakishly good song. The synths/piano + heavy riffs bang so hard, as well as everything else.
Thanks David💙
that intro/outro riff is giving me the shivers
Criminally underrated band. My fav song by y'all.
Applause of a distant crowd is currently my favorite album. This song seriously slaps.
THE BEST BAND I HAVE EVER HEARD. ITS THE PERFECT LISTENING EXPERIENCE FOR ME. THANK YOU SO MUCH. PLEASE ONLY MAKE MUSIC LIKE THIS.

discovered so many good bands in 2022. how did these guys evade me for SO LONG, i used to spend weeks at a time scouring the internet for new metal
The 1st/main riff, backed with keyboards, is a killer only VOLA can write.
This chorus has been invading my brain for days. In a good way
