How many people knowing this would literally be ill to admit that it's a Line 6 tone... not only for the guitar but for the bass as well, I believe..???
These dudes are something else. The tone of the guitars is amazing but as a drummer, shout out to Adam. Incredible musicality and maturity in his playing. Doesn’t over play ever, fantastic music!!
There's so many things that make this song great: 1. That bass tone. 2. That guitar tone. 3. Those fucking riffs are insane. 4. Ghost notes, yum. 5. The lyrics. Gotta love this band.
@@volaband The level of detail ,effort, and depth speak volumes to what being a artist means. I hope yall been doing great! I listened to every work of art y'all make always hearing a different perspective and soundscape inspiring myself and I'm sure others to venture further in music.
Ever since I heard Inmazes I've been in love with this band. I've been in a bit of a musical slump for so long, not sure where I had to turn to after hearing Animals as Leaders, The Contortionist, Between the Buried and Me, Native Construct and many more. VOLA has completely caught me off guard and it's been my favorite listen of 2018, can't wait to hear the album guys!
Hamsterwheel Absolutely. I discovered their stuff last year, and they're one of my favorites. Haken is coming out with a new album too! It's going to be a good year.
I remember getting a random tip from a friend to check out this band Vola a couple of years ago, and listened to them on Spotify. They only had like 250 listeners on Spotify, and I remember telling myself that this group WILL be huge one day. They have come a long way since then, and this doesn't disappoint.
I just love how tis band can go from beautiful soft and poppy tracks like Ghosts and vertigo into something so heavy yet melodic like this song and Whaler. VOLA are easily the best djent band behind Meshuggah in my opinion. They blow the competition out of the water.
I know this is unpopular but I would say VOLA is even better than Meshuggah because Meshuggah is missing out on the happy/pop/melodic elements that VOLA adds. I would listen to VOLA over Meshuggah, but Meshuggah is still great.
So guys, i'm from Brazil and i "discover" this awesome band on the last week... And i'm fall in love for your music. Everything is just awesome: the vocal melodies, the bass lines, the drum grooves, the keyboard arrangements, the guitar riffs, the Contemporary lyric themes... Each piece of each song fits perfectly in its proper places and provokes sensations that are difficult to describe. I hope that when things get back to normal with all that shit from COVID-19, you can go on a tour here in South America. Anyway, I wish you success and that Witness is as killer as AFDC. Brazilian hugs.
long time ago bands forgot about making attractive videos, but this one has a lot of art and content, that without saying yet that this track really surprised me, the sound is very innovative, this band is unique between its genre, i didn't really expect this, i want to listen the entire album now and please guys, make a tour to US, it'd have great if you guys had joined to leprous and haken to their north american tour
Bent Knee is also incredible though, can't wait to see them with Leprous. Just discovered Vola tonight, would definitely be a great addition to the lineup or a great band to tour with Pain of Salvation.
Music like this should not be possible. I love this band to pieces, can't get enough of their music. They have to become more known, seriously, for the well-being of humanity.
"Smartfriend" and "Head Mounted Sideways" should totally start a story based on this body-horror/sci-fi themed vibe. Head Mounted Sideways' music video makes me think of an evolution to this science-gone-wrong experiment in where he as developed a new way to create a less chaotic female (anima.) PLEASE ASK YOUR PRODUCERS TO MAKE A TRILOGY STATEMENT TO THIS BEAUTIFUL ART DIRECTION!!!! its so good and reminds me much of Stanley Kubrick and other crazy sci-fi horror movies!
Cant believe its been 5 yrs! Still listening ;) though the riffs in this remind me entirely of Scarab by Karnivool, which is also heavily Meshuggah influenced. Im all for it, still a winner!! Cant wait for the new album guys!
I heard ”stray the skies” by coincidence about a year ago!! And it’s bern apart of my life ever sense!! F A N TASTIC BAND!!! And now this😱😱 My god....whats to come?! Keep up the good work my fellow neighbours!!
Fell in love with you guys over your previous album, and this song certainly didn't disappoint! Amazing video clip as well! Sadly VOLA is still largely unknown and underrated, but if you keep up this amazing work you'll get there! From a life-long fan since the first song.
I have listened to this song so many times since it was released. I didn't think VOLA could outdo themselves after Inmazes, but they somehow managed to become catchier AND heavier. This song gives me chills just like Gutter Moon did when I first heard it.
Not even a minute in and Im instantly in love, i know the rest of this album is going to be nothing but bangers... that grove that starts at 2.51 is huuuuuuge !!! welcome to Adam, he’s brought his A game and makes the music groove so much
Amazing single and video!!! ❤ love you since the first time that i saw you live with Agent Fresco and Katatonia! I hope you have more credit in Italy, you deserve it! ❤
C'ero anch'io.
@@smokejc i totally agree with you! I fell in love with VOLA's Emily that night. Such a heartbroken song... This was one of the best show that i've ever saw in life. Miss that moments so much!
Absolutely incredible! I wasn't sure how y'all would follow Inmazes given how perfect it was, but this sounds of all the promise in the world! Looking forward to the full release!
One of the best bands at Bloodstock this year. Loved you guys for a while now, but seeing you live has reignited my obsession. Can't wait for the new record.
This is a new sound for you guys and yet it still meets the same high standard of quality you guys have delivered before. I'm very excited for the new album!
Thank you for creating this work of art. You will be on our top 10 rock albums of 2018.
This band deserves more credit
and they're fantastic live.
Yeah they are amazing
Been saying this since Inmazes blew me away in 2016. Every friends I've showed has loved this band; they'll get the credit they deserve in time.
so much more
They need to be pushed, but unfortunately very few record companies want to promote good music. They have great commercial potential.
That guitar tone could be the best guitar tone I've ever heard
Thanks! :)
the bass really growls!
How many people knowing this would literally be ill to admit that it's a Line 6 tone... not only for the guitar but for the bass as well, I believe..???
But how can you isolate it from that distorted bass?
This and Animals as Leaders have an amazing tone.
These dudes are something else. The tone of the guitars is amazing but as a drummer, shout out to Adam. Incredible musicality and maturity in his playing. Doesn’t over play ever, fantastic music!!
VOLA is the evolution of metal
Without a doubt! We need to promote the shit out of them, they deserve great success.
How is this evolution of metal?
Revolution really
That is, when they sound metal.
There's so many things that make this song great:
1. That bass tone.

Thelema 6. and the awesome vocals too!

saaaaaaaaame
Haaa!!! I only came here to add Leprous to his list :) Leprous "Coal" is the place to start. Pozdro.
Try Caligula's Horse!
Whoever edited this video is awesome!
Meshuggah, Tool, and Nine Inch Nails had a leviathan of a band.. VOLA
add Karnivool to that mix.
Well said. Karnivool are so much more than Tool ever dared to be.
A bit of Mew as well, then it's spot on
Nah, I don't enjoy any of those bands but VOLA is truly amazing.
I’m hearing these influences within this song - Faith No More / Helmet / 12 Foot Ninja. This tune gets LOUD when it wants to.
I feel like it’s impossible to have a favorite song from these guys.
This song is insane.
The guitar gives this DOOM ETERNAL feeling.
