We were seated in a warm house during a cold night of December 2017. Damien Rice was playing for 50 lucky people so he explained to us why he wrote his song 'Back to Her Man' after three shows with Leonard Cohen. And we all sang along.

The level of intimacy here is just crazy. The atmosphere just sucks you in, sth you can't resist or defy. Being part of this is a higher level of collective consciousness. I just wish I coould be one of these people. I recommend using headphones for this.

I've seen him a few times and he often connects like this in his shows. One of his I was at was an outdoor show. He came off stage and played in front of 50 odd people after the show. At one point he even handed his guitar to someone in the crowd and sang along with him while he played. Just a great true artist. It's really a shame that genius artists like this spend their whole lives living like they are invisible but these no talent hacks with massive PR firms make millions releasing garbage pop songs every other day .
