Yeah but let's just put the guilt aside for a second.
_Cellphones_ didn't exist in the 70's, never mind computers. This man was locked up and when he was set free it was a completely different world, and he had to learn how to live in it _alone_. Jesus.

How does one accidentally kill someone when they brought a gun...? Last I knew, drug dealers bring guns into houses after finding out the deal went bad to kill people, not for self defense.

In this day and age we display and often glorify death so often it's easy to become desensitized to it. We don't get to hear real life accounts of murder, let alone from the killer them self, so to hear such a visceral story was almost, dare I say, refreshing and hopefully enlightening to those that don't fully understand the implications of violence and death.

    • @starkraven2677

Some might've been pulling the trigger on accident, others on reflex or heat of the moment. Others might be hiding the truth, probably more to themselves than the world around them. I think everybody copes in different ways and very few people want to own up to their mistakes, especially if it is the consequence on having killed someone. Nobody sees themselves as the bad guy, just a victim of circumstances.

To kill can mean to turn yourself black as night. I remember the two gang members I killed , and wanting to reload the gun and shoot their corpses over and over. But at the time just running off after to escape persecution. Even if they did attack first. You either become numb , crave to kill more you hate or it destroys a part of you for the rest of your life. Perhaps it is strength to kill without hesitation. But you lose your humanity in the process. And yet I can think of 5 more people should I ever find them I would put in the grave. May the divine forgive me for my anger.

Maybe it was her finger that set the gun off. It's very possible in a struggle for a gun. If she was tipsy and they struggled, she probably wasn't standing straight. Bit that a gun can't shot someone in the temple while they are standing up, even with a struggle.

When you go to War, they go down and dont get up and its a different feeling for each person, no 2 are the same. Some people are just born without that part of the brain that governs remorse or guilt or sadness, etc. Others just freak or laugh or cry or go boneless. This is very sad. sometimes we get so wrapped up in the moment that foreseeing the outcome of situations just passes us by. We are then left with a lifetime of regret. I really felt remorse in this man's words. Hindsight is most times a hard fact to face. 😔

Don’t know him, never heard any of this before.Seems kinda odd the chick he couldn’t wake up,or barely move as she was so high tried to grab the gun and there was a struggle and she was shot in the Temple. On Accident.Ok.
At least he appears to have some remorse for murdering her.

Nothing like wasting 30+ years of someone's life in a federal prison for something that only takes a year for them to actually reform. Unless they're psycho paths. I think we should have a test that can determine if someone can come back out depending on their crime and if it was an accident or intentional.

I'm not going to say I feel "sorry" for him, as that doesn't feel right given what he did, but it's clear he's trying to atone, and that's really all that's left to ask for.
Not sure if I'd have called it fist degree, though, as there was clearly no premeditation. Second degree seems more appropriate, certainly was ready to do ill if he had his gun out when he was waking up a passed-out girl in the first place.
Either way, just one of the many ways that drugs can ruin your life.
