Next time somebody has a weapon pointed at you with the intention of killing you, ask yourself if you want to go home and see your family. If you say yes, then you have a justified reason to kill that person.
He explained his opinion pretty clearly. If someone tries to kill me and I have to kill them instead to protect myself, then that's okay to take someone's life. "you wanna go home and see your family?" if you think it's NEVER okay to take a life, that means you're happy for someone to murder you and you won't even try and defend yourself.
How is it contradicting exactly? If a situation arises where you may be killed if you don't kill the aggressor - then it is OK to kill. One is killing offensively (bad) instigating the attack, one is defensively (good) killing to prevent the attacker from killing him.

Hardest for me was sitting at the edge of my AO, desperate to cross the line and take the fight to the jihadi's and to save the common man, the women and the children especially, and being denied the permission to cross into someone else's AO to respond because of territory guarding, posturing, political considerations, etc. Or just because of some REMF's indecision or lack of intestinal fortitude.

This playlist is a big help for me, and I appreciate the creators but most especially the veterans for sharing. I think of any of the men showcased in these videos, it is this man Lance that I found the most direct to my situation. For a time I wondered if I was going insane for feeling nothing at all, even totally being assured with no doubt that what I did was justified. He's got ice in the veins. The kind of man who isn't out to kill or harm anyone, but if you threaten his life he'll do everything to end yours and he'll sleep like a baby that night without a care in the world. I don't think many people understand how this feels, and again, I'm grateful for these videos and these men who volunteered to be interviewed, thank you.

+TameClamDemarco For the past 50 or so years the U.S has mainly fought against guerrillas/militia/insurgents/terrorists, really weak front line, so if they heard stronger armies were coming they would bail out. So there best bet was ambush and hit and run tactics
Hit and run tactics, a guerrilla or drug cartel will never stand a chance against the army on a frontal assault, thats why they bribe and intimidate people

His story of the bus kinda reminds me of my relative who was in Afghanistan and Iraq when his APC run over a mine and it landed upside down and he injured his shoulder and he needed to break out of a burning APC

Many people are shocked by this guy's saying about Albanian and nazism. I've seen some historical mistakes in some comments, so here are some facts:
WWII FACTS:
Serbia was an enemy of the nazis during WWII, with Croatia being allied to the germans.
Albania was invaded by Italy, an allied to Germany.
KOSOVO WAR FACTS
At the beginning of the NATO operation in Kosovo, the main goal was to secure albanian civilians from the serbian army
BUT
once NATO secured Kosovo for the albanians, it turned the other way around: many serb civilians had to leave and the remainders had to be protected from the now-stronger albanians.

I guess this guy's service took place near the end of the operations, which is why he had to face albanian aggressivity. I don't think albanians are overwhelmingly pro-nazi with their History (some are, like in any country,) but many albanians could have displayed nazi support as a way to insult serbs or even as an example of how to get rid of them.
This was an ethnical war, and these wars are especially nasty.

The kosovo's where responding to ethnic cleansing by the serbs, truly horrific abuses and yes what he saw was the tail end
I think his wording is being misunderstood by some of the commenters. I misunderstood it at first too. He said, "...I didn't realize I was the only one that got off the bus." Not meaning that he was the only one who survived, rather that all the other guys (remember they came up to him afterwards) stayed on the bus and he went into fight or flight mode by grabbing the gun and starting to shoot.
He said the bus exploded though..... so I’m pretty sure he was the only one to survive.

Because his story is 100% false there were no us soldiers killed in kosovo in combat the only casualties were from a accidental helicopter crash. Even his story is ridiculous getting blown away in an ambush, being the only survivor, grabbing a gun and killing somebody and than being saved. Real vets know that you are not getting your first kill like this, but even if you are you won’t live long enough to tell the tail. Next the part about explosives even the the biggest albanian hater will agree that albanians don’t cover themselves in explosive and commit kamikaze attack we want to hurt our enemy not ourselves.

I'm a bit confused considering the US didn't report any combat losses in Kosovo. Unless this guy was the only American on a bus full of NATO and KLA troops when it got hit.
Special Operations in places where America never even set foot in officially; those loses get reported as accidents.

Near border of Albania - seems to me he was involved in the Battle of Košare, in which Serbs reported presence of foreign mercenaries (and special forces) and NATO officers. NATO and USA are still denying any involvment, though it's clear as a day that they were directly involved by air bombing and shelling of Serb positions from Albanian side of the border. This de jure makes the war an Albanian aggression against Yugoslavia. Which is why i believe they are still keeping their mouth shut.

if you go on the interwebs and i dont mean youtube... you can find footage of people in serbian uniforms escorting busses full of people... who were later filmed comming back empty... you can also see the footage of people with the same clothes as the ones in the busses lying in neat rows....

Even if he was on some special ops mission that was never disclosed, at a bare minimum he has his Serbians and Albanians backwards, even at that, a lack of understanding of the historical geopolitics of the region in reference to NAZIs as well. His story also lacks detail and sense to go along with his possible confusion between ethnic groups.

There were some American merceneries on Kosovo, though private companies

I'm interested to know about this guy since during the Kosovo War the US was backing the KLA aka the Albanians, so is his experience from fighting around the Albanians and he grew to hate them or against (which would be weird) or was he confusing Serbs with Albanians? I'm not calling the guy a liar I just would like to know more about is specific military record in the Kosovo War.
Below are excerpts of a report written by Human Rights Watch on abuses conducted by the KLA (Kosovo Albanians) in 1999.
"In Lipljan, a Serb male was decapitated in the middle of the town's busy market on July 9, according to KFOR military police in the town. As of July 16, no witnesses had come forward. There are numerous reports of killings where it has been difficult to identify the perpetrators because so many Serbs have fled or are afraid."
"When Maria Filipovic returned from shopping, German KFOR troops had already discovered that her husband had been attacked as well, and was dying from his stab wounds. As Maria stood in front of her home crying, her Albanian Catholic neighbors told her that KLA members had committed the killings. Both victims had their throats cut. German soldiers told Human Rights Watch that Marica Stamenkovic had been nearly decapitated."
"They (KLA) took the old man's pants off and threatened him with a gun. They told him that they'd rip his eyes out of their sockets. Then they took the blunt end of a knife and gave him these two black eyes. They asked him: "Whose country is this?" When my brother-in-law answered that it's for everyone, they weren't satisfied. They said it belongs to the KLA, and they forced him to say this."
"He and his friends in KLA uniforms began to beat me again. Then he took his gun which was empty and said, "Kill me." I said, "I don't know how to use it." He hit me in the head. Someone [else] began beating me with a baseball bat. The KLA commander and two others and two women took me to another room. He had a pair of scissors and told me, "We're going to cut your fingers and ears off."
"Killings of Serb civilians took place near the village of Gracko, in central Kosovo. Fourteen farmers were shot dead as they harvested hay in the single biggest massacre since KFOR entered the province. The farmers were reportedly shot at close range."
According to Kosovo’s Ministry of Communities and Returns, some 240,000 Serbs fled their homes after the Kosovo war in 1999 and only 10 per cent of them have returned so far.

Serbs aren't radicalized like that. He was speaking plain truth about the amount of indoctrination of Albanian population there via nazism and shariah. Serbs aren't favored by NATO because of Russian influence so Clinton administration had to stage fake massacres like Racak in order to justify the takeover of Kosovo. NATO bombing of Albanian refugees near Gjakova is hardly mentioned in news.

Maybe re-word the title... at first glance it looks like it could say "On Killing Veterans".
I can’t even respect this man because his story doesn’t make sense, I was living back and forth between ferizaj and Pristina during the conflict and throughout the conflict I never once heard of or seen US ground troops fighting, there was certainly no US military bus blown up either since there’s no records of it but let’s pretend there was a bus that was attacked and he happened to be the only one alive, he claims that he ran towards the gunfire with his weapon but if everyone is dead except for him then who are they firing at? This story has way too many holes in it. As someone who lived in Kosovo during the conflict I can’t sit and listen to a word coming out of this mans mouth, fabricating a story just to sound like a war hero.

@@rossi3171 It wasn't proven false. It didn't have enough evidence after all these years. And there was a gap in the investigation as said in the video. And Hague didn't even give it a thought until much later.
