It is just an example of what you can do with little money and this is a perfect beginner friendly aquarium. In this step by step aquascaping tutorial I will show you how this simple aquascape was built.

    Love your videos as always. Wood like that is very expensive at pet stores in the US.

    • @IMaqua
      @IMaqua  Месяц назад +2

      To be honest it is not much cheaper here in Europe. Hardscape in general is way overpriced.

    I see how you place the epiphyte plants and I wonder how they maintain their position when you add water...

    • @IMaqua
      @IMaqua  8 дней назад +1

      @@panowar4 I placed the plants in between the wood and stone so they are not able to float up to the surface.

    Setup-wise, maintenance-wise and enjoyment-wise, simple is the best of most worlds.
    What do you put in the HOB-filter? I filled it with smaller pebbles of Seachem Matrix with a layer of floss on top. I will be adding a sponge to the intake soonish.

    • @IMaqua
      @IMaqua  Месяц назад +2

      I have to say you are very wise...Usually I just add some kind of sponge and very fine filter floss. I add big sponge (relative to the filter size) on the intake, I think I told you where I got it couple of weeks ago.

    • @frankvermeulen4621
      @frankvermeulen4621 Месяц назад +2

      Wise is relative. 😉
      Yes, I remember. But the alternative I found is more locally available, namely the intake sponge of the Dennerle Scapers Flow Filter (I think that's what it's called). It's round and smaller, but it needs a bit of plastic on the underside of the pipe, so it doesn't fall off. If you know what I mean.

    • @IMaqua
      @IMaqua  Месяц назад +2

      Yeah I understand what you mean. It took a while as well before I found the perfect sponge that is able to fit the intake.

    light intensity for this sparse of planting?

    • @IMaqua
      @IMaqua  Месяц назад +2

      Usually I keep the light brightness low. In this particular aquarium it is 10%.

    Are you using glue to fix it on the wood?🤨

    • @IMaqua
      @IMaqua  27 дней назад +1

      @@mannyblackstar I used glue just to keep hardscape (wood and stone) together as one cohesive unit. I didn't use glue to attach plants to the wood.

    • @mannyblackstar
      @mannyblackstar 27 дней назад +2

      @@IMaqua so how come they are not floating in the water since they are not soiled. It's very confusing brother. Can we glue the plants on the rock tho? The anubias and others? Please help. Thank you

    • @IMaqua
      @IMaqua  27 дней назад +1

      @@mannyblackstar as I mentioned the wood and the stone are all glued together so the weight of the stone is preventing the wood from floating up. Yeah you can glue the plants to the wood or stone. I always try to find small nooks and crannies and place Anubias in there. If I am not able to find that I will glue plants to the stone.

    • @mannyblackstar
