      I use Chihiros AII in most of my aquariums. Yes I let the aquarium cycle for 4 weeks before adding fish.

    I really like the rocky substrate you use in a lot of your builds.
    With pockets of aquasoil. Certainly a good way to save some money and get a nice looking environment.

    It feels so soothing to the eyes...i would love to build this type of tank..can you please suggest some plants which can be grown without need of co2? Thanks in advance

      All the plants I use in my aquariums can do well without CO2. Java Fern, bolbitits, Bucephalandra, Anubias...

      @@IrinFahi I would not recommend that. They would destroy the plants and the water volume of this aquarium is only 40L and that is not enough for goldfish.

    love it!!! question - why not put aquasoil on the wood (inplace where you put the java moss) and plant with even more smaller plants say parva, buce, UG, HG or the such---just a though. would love to hear back on your thought

      Well mostly it's just money. Usually I order plants that are that week on discount or use some of the plants I have in my extra holding tanks. But I like your idea, I did something similar in one of my future builds (but wood is out of the water).

    I have another question though. How much weight is in the hardscape and rocks? And if I use a 15w light, will it be enough for 2 feet tank?

      The light I had on this aquarium is 21W and I used only 15% brightness. The weight of the rocks is probably around 4-5kg and 2-3 kg of gravel.

      Yes it is. If you will use it just a word of advice. Wash it...and then wash it again. It is very dirty.

      I have a 70ltr container that I fill up with tap water. Inside of the container I have an aquarium pump that is plugged into a WiFi plug that I turn on/off with my mobile. When I turn it on the pump will push the water.

      For this one I didnt use CO2. If you want to CO2 use plants will be more lush, dense and grow faster. Without CO2 they will be more "leggy" and grow slower. It all depends on what you want.

    May I ask why only 7 hours of light???

      I always start with 7. I found out that's enough for most of the low maintenance plants. If needed I will increase to 8. Only aquariums where I have a longer light duration are: Hillstream aquarium (10 hours) where I grow algae on purpose and Walstad aquarium (12 hours) where I have a lot of plant mass.

      @@IrinFahi unfortunately I can't answer that because the cost is different in every country (continent). Somewhere it can cost 100$ and somewhere 1000$.

      @@IrinFahi thanks. Usually aquariums like this can be expensive. I would advise you to get something smaller because you will spend less money on plants and hardscape.

      There are plants that can grow on rocks (woood) or even floating. I would recommend you to research "epiphyte" plants.

    Your tank looks good but may not be suitable for bottom feeders like corydoras.

      That is correct but I also never added Corydoras to this aquarium. In aquariums I keep Corydoras I usually have sand or fine gravel. Corydoras breeding aquariums are usually kept bare bottom.

      I think you are talking about beneficial bacteria. They are in the soil, plants, filter and all the aquarium surfaces. Yes plants can grow without CO2 but aquariums with CO2 have plants that are better looking and more lush.
