Well, I did not say I'm not going to talk about the cost of the tank, I wanted you guys to see what my budget was on this one. I did not want to COMMENT about it, like I do it here. So I'll just stop.
It makes more sense in the long run to buy decent soil and substrate from the beginning - and of course as many plants as you can afford because you can add more plants and livestock later on in the life of the tank. Your builds are by fare the best on RUclips and are fantastic tutorials. I’d love to come and visit your store in Hungry. It looks an absolute dream place.
Actually, this video does not relate to money. You are one of the most creative people that I have watched. I have benefited greatly from following you. Thank you. I wish you and me the best and always have success and excellence.
Of course, in my opinion, it is not a cheap hobby, but it is not enough for you to have a lot of money.it is very important to have the aesthetic eye as you have (green Aqua). It is possible to make amazing designs in a low budget as in the example in this video. Thanks again for sharing such beautiful designs and ideas with us. I want to visit you as soon as possible for seen those beauties with my own eyes
You are welcome to visit us any time Vedat Bozok, and thanks for your kind words. I would actually think that with some inspiration almost anybody can do really-really nice aquariums. Even like with trying to copy someone else's work. I've certainly done it before, and it did not turn out like the original at all, but then I had something to start with.
Finding rocks from a local hiking spot and choosing interesting shapes, sizes and keeping them the same type can really make an aquarium pop! I collected a bunch of the same cuts of rock from a waterfall and it came out awesome!
great video, i really like the both final results, obviously the boosted version is more appropriate, but for those who are beginning in this world, a budget version it's a great way to start. thanks for showing us this kind of work
Yeah Marcos, this was my main idea too, to have it done for those on a budget initially, they just have to wait for the plants to fill in nicely and they can have a nice tank like that. But I also wanted to open up an inspirational gate for those who wish to improve.
Low budget, high budget doesn’t really matter what you put your hands to work with, it always turns out beautiful. I understand your frustration when people are always talking about money. I think they forget about one main thing: it’s not about money! This is art, it’s creative and it’s the pleasure of creating something from your own imagination. The pleasure you get from creating your own aquarium. For me, that’s what it’s all about. The hobby and all the joys it brings. If money is an issue for you but doing something like this is what you truly believe you want to do, then wait. Save some money and proceed when it best fits you. Instant gratification isn’t something that come with everything. Even tho videos look easy, theres a lot of work behind them. And it takes a lot to work to reach a skill set such as his. Maybe people should stop talking and listen? Might help. ☺️

Yeah, well Eashanu Kole, my hands were just so tied with the budget. Actually, if you plant these many and you have patience you can get the same result - well almost the same - in months.
Not really. It's about making a good planted tank, on a budget. So the fact that the budget is mentioned in the title establishes the framework of the project. The goal of the project is what the video is about. 💡
@@GreenAquaShop I'm going to agree with thatguppy. People attracted to this video by the title are actually looking for a low-budget tank, because for them it really is about the money. For you to then say it's not about the money is a bit like bait-and-switch. Or clickbait.

Yes, it has some, but not a lot. You can soak the wood in water before using it in the tank, and you can have Seachem Purigen in the filter to remove the tint from the water.
Hi Balazs, I have just started to put together a set-up on a budget. But the way i budget is to buy a piece for the set-up each month and get the better quality end set-up. I got tank and filter in month one, then substrate and hardscape in month two. Once i had these i designed a hardscape layout and filed tank with water a started a dark start to cycle the set-up. I then purchased a light and plants in moth three which came as the tank completed its cycle. I then drained the set-up and planted the tank and filled with fresh water. the forth month I purchased a clean-up crew and month five my fish. I found this the best way to get a decent set-up on a budget.
Great Advice for some one who wants the 1st budget tank! But the main message was put across. save your money , plan ahead get good soil and plants! the foundation is key! and don't forget if you use wood... make sure you tie it down to rocks or soak it until it doesn't float :P Wonderful witty informative content as we have grown to expect! and lastly... to all that may read this... watch it 4K Balaz's really shine at 2am

Your wife is a genius! You guys should definitely build a brand new tank and then broadcast live as the plants growing, like nonstop 24/7. Put some chill beats on in the video and I'm sold.
LOW BUDGET? Really? Throw that Eheim filter away and get a chinese HOB. Filter not really matter too much to planted tank with few tiny fish. Broadcast live plants growing is a awesome idea!!! Just do it.
@@GreenAquaShop Yeah i know. I heard when you said that this video is not about cash. However when i saw you holding that expensive filter i couldn't hold myself.
Sorry to hear that Thomas. We always suggest everybody to get the best quality in filters they can, because usually it's supposed for last for a long long time, and price differences does not really matter when we are talking about a filter-lifespan of 10+ years. But leaks and faults matter.
I have to agree. This is misleading title, ADA is expensive. period. So if he would like that we do not comment price, please do change title (I do not want to argue, just noticed this detail). I have 30 Liter tank, Nigara 190 filter (hang on), 2 Orion LED clip lights, one nice piece of wood and loads of plants. Along with lot of exchanged plants due to me experimenting, I did not come even close to price of this tank. SO now on setup, I like general idea with loads of wood. I already see that with time you can replant new grown plants and add even more plants with no new expense. Subbed too btw :)
@@BrljoMrljo ADA substrate + Eheim filter is more expensive than all the stuff that i use in my 10 gallon planted tank.(including water conditioners, tests and liquid fertilizer) The fish and plants dont care if most of my stuff is from china. *The guy is just trying sell his spensive stuff.

Yeah and believe me or not there are places in the world where people do the same even half of what you mention 😃 You can't be the cheapest. And this is not the goal of the video. Budget not equal cheapest.
@@BoguZzNL I didn't just throw a tank together. In my opinion I think my aquascape looks better, but maybe I'm biased. Either way you can achieve similar quality for 1/3 of the price or less. I collected my rocks from a nearby lake. The only things I spent money on was a £15, 10 gallon on sale (which I took the black boarders off), £15 heater £15 aquasoil, £2 playsand, £10 spiderwood. And £10 on plants (dwarf hairgrass, anubias, java moss and crypts.)

As someone who is looking to delve unto the hobby, thank you for showing the difference. I want to stsrt but I want to go all in and not cheap out on plants or equipment. Thank you for your videos!
Thanks for watching and commenting too, glad you find our channel useful, mission accomplished. 😎Stay tuned for more tutorials and inspiration from us. Greetings Ann-Marie. 👍🏻
I have to say I don't come across somebody who's so professional and so knowledgeable and so helpful. You really live this hobby and this passion.I would say this whole thing was like a meditation of some sort thank you.🐟🐠🐡🐬🍀
Thanks so much for the kind comment Peter!
"This is an aquarium channel, keep the peace." I love this guy 🤣
There's a big war everywhere with the comments. LOL.
Says.....” don’t talk about money, it’s not about the cost”!........then names the video ‘budget tank’
Well, I did not say I'm not going to talk about the cost of the tank, I wanted you guys to see what my budget was on this one. I did not want to COMMENT about it, like I do it here. So I'll just stop.
@@GreenAquaShop people can comment what they want, if you don't like it then turn off comments. drop your god complex
Foot meet mouth
300 euros is not "budget" by the way.
@@tucatucz for europe it is!!
Yes, this is exactly what I think. Thanks for the support in this. Looking forward to your visit, hope it'll happen in 2020.
Actually, this video does not relate to money. You are one of the most creative people that I have watched. I have benefited greatly from following you. Thank you. I wish you and me the best and always have success and excellence.
Thanks so much for watching! 👍
I've certainly done it before, and it did not turn out like the original at all, but then I had something to start with.
i’ve been saving for a year for a thing you just called ‘budget’😂😂
Good that you have it! You are great!
Love this idea for a starters tank! A beautiful scape!
Thanks so much, glad you like the idea and the scape. Cheers. 👍🏻
That hardscape is legendary, great job!
Oops until it floated lol
Haha, right. It was a noob mistake. I got into the noob feeling a bit too much. 😂
Thanks for that, glad you think of it like that! Cheers.
This was amazing !! I'm Workin on a low tech tank and after the final result of the video, I changed everything on my tank, thanks for the video
Thanks for watching 👍
Finding rocks from a local hiking spot and choosing interesting shapes, sizes and keeping them the same type can really make an aquarium pop! I collected a bunch of the same cuts of rock from a waterfall and it came out awesome!
Great video! One of your best so far…..loved the humor
Thanks Gabriel fariña, really glad you liked it. Thanks also for following us.
great video, i really like the both final results, obviously the boosted version is more appropriate, but for those who are beginning in this world, a budget version it's a great way to start. thanks for showing us this kind of work
Yeah Marcos, this was my main idea too, to have it done for those on a budget initially, they just have to wait for the plants to fill in nicely and they can have a nice tank like that. But I also wanted to open up an inspirational gate for those who wish to improve.
Green Aqua amazing, thanks for your videos, i know that there are so many people who will learn from this kind of videos.
Haha.. love how you just couldn't leave it as it is!! And i must say the second one is always the way to go!!!! Awesome!!
Thanks Sanel Samuel, I just had to do something about it, even after many-many hours of hard work.
I like that you are showing your honest mistakes, rather then cutting them out
Thanks 😃 We believe that you can learn from mistakes 👍

Yeah Pedro, that's the main goal here. Thanks for your kind words. Peace.
thank you Green Aqua

Might help. ☺️
You are a very smart person. Love the way you think, I'm the same. Yes, it's an art. Thanks for the support!
Balazs wife is amazing! She had to spend the whole night lonely at home but did not loose her sense of humor. What did Balazs do? All for the sake of a convincing scape, the production of an educational video and the satisfaction of a true lunatic's mind he was underway at Green Aqua. Thank you, Balazs for your enthusiasm.
hello I'm from Indonesia (Southeast Asia) and I'm new in aquascape world
to be honest I'm still learn english by the way.
but the way you speak english is very easy to understand
your visual quality is damn good. i like it
Once again thank you so much for sharing.

First time I thought what is he doing ... Planting here and there , uprooting the plants at last the True colour came "the green Aqua" style planting ... I love it😍. Such a nice video.
Yeah, well Eashanu Kole, my hands were just so tied with the budget. Actually, if you plant these many and you have patience you can get the same result - well almost the same - in months.
1:02 "this video is not about money". You should change your video title then.
Not really. It's about making a good planted tank, on a budget. So the fact that the budget is mentioned in the title establishes the framework of the project. The goal of the project is what the video is about. 💡
is his accent hes not meaning exactly what he saying, seems like you got an attitude probablem :')
hes hungarian and I know this is why he said that lmao I understood what he was trying to say unlike you and the other 43 ppl upliking it
@@GreenAquaShop I'm going to agree with thatguppy. People attracted to this video by the title are actually looking for a low-budget tank, because for them it really is about the money. For you to then say it's not about the money is a bit like bait-and-switch. Or clickbait.
It’s my birthday and all I ever wanted is to have a tank like this. 😔 Even if it was a low budget tank, I just wish I had the money to afford all of these accessories. I love all of ur videos and I have been watching them since I discovered ur channel. Your eagerness and dedication in showcasing ur talents and ideas is amazing. Thank you for sharing it to us. ♥️
Happy Birthday! I'm sure you'll be able to do it soon. Good luck with your planted tank project, and never give up!

got really into outdoor gardening 2-3 years ago. learned the plant names of most popular plants in no time with little effort. Now i'm into aquarium plants and holy shit learning aquarium plant names makes outdoor plant names look like the ABCs
Haha, I'm still struggling with the names of most stem plants. 💡😅
Damn! That is a f..king awesome aquascaping store!! Amazing assortment of brands, plants, etc I wish we could have one like that here in México. 👊🏼👍🏼
You'll have Filipe Oliveira coming there in the near future, that's gonna be a helluva nice time, check that out. You are welcome to visit us one day if you happen to be able to come to Europe! Cheers.
One tip for low tech tank: keep water changing in every 2 days + once fertz dose (1ml/30l). You can see the magic :D
Frequent water changes are always a good idea to remove excess nutrient and ammonia. Thanks for the suggestion Tuan Vo! 🙏🏻
@@GreenAquaShop Actually there is one more benefit (CO2) which low tech scapers are saving the cost :D
Tuan Vo really? I had no idea. Will try to look into this further!!
I love when mr.Balazs scapes.
I love when you comment Nrml KZ! B.
Wow! Both tanks were striking and neither LOOKED low-tech or low budget. My favorite being the second version; really like the white beach front with the stones. Much more textural and colorful. Love this type of video; hands on ideas and examples! Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
Haha, you are funny! Thanks for you kind words, glad you liked both versions. Yeah, the second version has a lot more detail to it with the sandy foreground, the small dragon stones and the bigger variety of plants. 🙏🏻👍🏻
I love that you guys never hide your mistakes.
Well, we don't think that what we do is always right, or that we are flawless. I believe trial-and-error is key, as Dave Chow said in his Workshop video.
Love the simplicity
Thank you Mauritius Exotic fish! 🙏🏻

Thanks! Glad you like our tech, we think a lot on how to shoot... 💡👍🏻
Amazing tips.. thank's a lot..
Q: does iron wood have tannin in it? how do you remove tannin from driftwood?
I love this channel because he explains things in a pretty chill voice, instead of the RUclips yell.
I don't like to yell. :)
More like how to build a low tech planted tank. It's still not budget nothing is budget
okey!
I laughed so hard at "hey guppy guppy"

Great Advice for some one who wants the 1st budget tank! But the main message was put across. save your money , plan ahead get good soil and plants! the foundation is key! and don't forget if you use wood... make sure you tie it down to rocks or soak it until it doesn't float :P
Wonderful witty informative content as we have grown to expect! and lastly... to all that may read this... watch it 4K Balaz's really shine at 2am
Hahha JP Gomes, I was at the end of my powers, but the momentum gave me some strength. Good that I worked out the day before. 😂 I absolutely agree with all you said in the first part, 100% with you on this one!
Your wife is a genius! You guys should definitely build a brand new tank and then broadcast live as the plants growing, like nonstop 24/7. Put some chill beats on in the video and I'm sold.
Yeah! :)
The best video for beginner, this guy is truly amazing! thank you, Balazs and Green Aqua! P/s: this video published on valentine day :)) LOL amazing!
Thanks so much for your kind words Green Happiness. Glad you liked it, keep on watching us for more.
Love the video. 300 euros is a good price for a starter tank. I am curious what the cost was after you rescaped, though. How much more?
About 25-30%? Approximately. Did not count the plants.
It probably did not add a whole lot of money, after you did the rescape.
Probably 25-30% more? Worst case scenario, I didn't even add up how many plants I grabbed for that.
LOW BUDGET? Really?
Throw that Eheim filter away and get a chinese HOB.
Filter not really matter too much to planted tank with few tiny fish.
Broadcast live plants growing is a awesome idea!!!
Just do it.
We used items from our shop. So it was not about what we can buy the cheapest out there.
@@GreenAquaShop
Yeah i know.
@@BrljoMrljo
ADA substrate + Eheim filter is more expensive than all the stuff that i use in my 10 gallon planted tank.(including water conditioners, tests and liquid fertilizer)
The fish and plants dont care if most of my stuff is from china.
*The guy is just trying sell his spensive stuff.

TY ty ty Green Aqua. i saw that u read my comment for the second time, and as i asked u made a video for low budget aquarium (or it was plan by you all along and is just a pure coincidence never the less big Tx). Now I have a better idea on what to start with. Going to visit your Online shop and take what i need from there.

Kizárt. 💡Ez a kis aksi, mint a vidiben is elmondtam 120e indulásból. Az ügyfelünk 150-ért vitte el a plusz növényekkel, üveg ki- és befolyókkal együtt. Utálok a pénzről beszélgetni. Mondtam.
10:51 lol he just flexing there
I set up an aquascape like this for £65. This is not on a budget at all lol.
Yeah and believe me or not there are places in the world where people do the same even half of what you mention 😃 You can't be the cheapest. And this is not the goal of the video. Budget not equal cheapest.
This is budget but still doing it right. Not just throwing a tank together for the hell of it.
Cheers Bogus, thanks for saying that! 🙏🏻 👍🏻
