So beautiful!! But a warning; that hydrangea painting will likely get pretty damaged with all the humidity, since it’s not sealed up in a frame + glass! I’d recommend putting something a little less precious in such a humid space!!
I would love to see you use the same fabric from the cafe curtains to line your laundry basket. I think you should make your own frame for the French artwork. You already know the process with the mirror.
I love everything you did in this space..it does seem budget friendly..can i also just say..i love the fact that you keep in the "bloopers" like turning on the faucet and getting sprayed while you were under the sink..makes it very human and not just cut out and "perfect"
TIP FOR PAINT CANS- if you use a nail & hammer or screw & drill and make a couple small holes in the bottom ring where paint collects after you pour the paint, the paint will drain back into the can more easily and prevent build up & mess. :) then when you go swipe it with your brush to clean it up you only have to do a little instead of multiple times.
This turned out beautiful. And good call on the plumber for the shower valve swap. I had to do the valve change in the shower for a reno im working on. I called a friend who does plumping to work on it and teach me. It was so complicated. Had to tear out enough tile to fit the new plate, open up access in the wall, sweat the pipes to remove the old valve and then reposition everything so it worked with the existing tile since i wasnt trying to redo it. Even watching him do it twice, i still wouldnt feel comfortable doing it myself without supervision.
Young Lady, you outdid yourself again. It's so delightful to watch your videos and listen to your soothing voice. Your home has so much warmth and coziness thanks to your vision of decor and renovations. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤.
What I use to darken something that is bright gold is the furniture polish Old English, brown color. I just use an old sock and rub it on lol. It has worked for me. Beautifully done, beautiful room.
Dear sweet Macenna. Your decorating takes my breath away. Everything looks so perfect. I love the curtains and that floor. Peel and stick tiles. Who would’ve thought? All the brass fixtures and the art is perfection. And that wood finish on the vanity and the beams. Another OMG moment. You’re so full of surprises. You need a tv show.
Now this is what I call an "affordable" renovation! 🙌 I see so many overhauls on YT that claim the term 'affordable' but update on the extreme end. To each their own of course, as it's the individuals personal taste and dollar. But I respect that this update was realistic in the aspect of what you can do using what you have. She literally just elevated what was there. LOVE! ❤
Whatever you touch turns to gold (literarily and figuratively)! The cabinets and beams look so much like wood - what a great product. I love these kinds of short updates that only take a few days at most but make a big impact.
Honestly, just goes to show you can make the prettiest bathrooms with a small budget, without having to rip everything up. Absolutely beautiful transformation as always
I'm sorry I never comment! The reason, I have no words. Literally no words. Week after week I am blown away. You simply blow me away. Believe me, if I ever got started commenting, I could not stop. Just know I never fail to catch an episode. I literally had surgery today and I have managed to come awake enough to watch and write this comment. Thank you for all things beautiful always!!❤
Magnificent !! And I enjoyed every second , and I just want you to know how much I appreciate your hard work, and I know this was . I know this is your livelihood but you go above and beyond to make sure your videos are enjoyable to your viewers, and I thank you for that. Much love my friend.
I agree with you about making curtains instead of buying them. I made our bedroom curtains about 13 years ago and often think I should change them but they are made with fabric that has such a color and design that no one could ever match.
You will have to change out the valve system in order for the new shower fixtures. And also with the rubber gasket for the sink you really dont need the plumber's putty. Depending on the age of the house you may or may not have a access panel if theres a room behind the bathroom. Great job!!
Just add on... you could go ahead and change out the shower arm and head to brass, though. I think the white valve blends in so it wouldn't look horrible if you left that til you swapped out the whole fixture.
Love what you have done. Make sure you go outside day and night and look in your window. Sometimes you can see the mirror through the window and considering the angle someone may be able to see what you don't want to be seen. 👀👀
I love the curtain material you picked. They look wonderful in there. The whole bathroom looks so different. It actually looks like one of the places you stayed in when you were in France. You bathroom just looks like you could live in it. I hope you have a fan in your shower. And you both use it. My husband never does, but I always do. Otherwise the humidity might hurt both of the things you hung in there. So you might want to find something that isn’t an oil. So it can have glass over it, then it will be protected.
Be still my heart! Breathtaking. There is nothing I don't love in your bathroom. I am even loving the blue tiles, now you dare not take them away. 🙂 The fabric is perfect for the curtains. Everything is "Everything"............loved this, all of it and that wood treatment is out of this world. What a delightful and luxurious bathroom to use and enjoy every moment of your creations! Beautiful McaCenna!!!
And you did it again! Every time I think you have done the most beautiful space ever you prove me wrong. You outdid yourself and it turned out lovely! You are amazing in creating emotions in your spaces. Thank you for sharing your magic with us ❤
When I put an oil painting in my bathroom I sealed it both sides with varnish that I bought at an art suppliers. My friend, who works at a museum with paintings, suggested this. Otherwise she said they would go mouldy.
I put my cafe curtains in the dry with a wet towel.. when I get them out, while they are still warm, I just press the pleating together where I wanted t them.. works great ❤️❤️
Great idea, but to avoid any possibility of fabric shrinkage (even it's not already been washed and preshrink) a much easier technique would be to gather the pleats together (as MaCenna did in the video) and then gently wrap some scrap strips of of fabric (or ribbon) around each of the pleats, near the top and bottom of each curtain. Then pin the fabric strip to itself to secure it, and leave the curtains overnight, or for several days. In the morning, remove the strips of fabric and the pleats should be set.
I think it's a good idea to have plumber do your shower fixtures and that you didn't touch the water valves. My husband was replacing our bathroom sink faucet and touched the main water valve and our water didn't work when we tried turning it back on...we had to call a plumber and it turns out our valve was old and when he shut it off the bolt on the other side of the handle broke off and it caused our water pressure to go up. It cost us between $1500-$1600 🥲😅 BTW, I LOVE how your bathroom turned out! It's beautiful 😍🥰
This is not my personal style, but I do love it! Just one little thing bugs me... the cabinet hardware! The knobs look great on the drawers, but the medallions are too wide for the cabinets ( that overhang is just a bit chaotic!). I say that you should just use the knobs only on the cabinet doors, but keep them on the drawers. They will still tie in but not look so cramped/off or overly matchy. Ultimately, you do you, but i am hoping that your eagle eye agrees. I love your videos, and thank you for all of the hard work! ❤️
I'm so glad you said that, as I felt exactly the same. The overhanging medallions make it look less "curated". The curtains not hanging completely straight is another bug for me too, this is where curtain weights are very useful. Otherwise, in my opinion, MaCenna's done an amazing job AGAIN.
I so appreciate you bringing warmth back or better yet that it’s ok, to have wood tones in the house. I’ve never been a fan of white cabinets. I may try the process you did on your cabinets or my bathroom cabinets. I’ve gotta see that. It was so impressive.
Wow, just wow, McCenna! That bathroom looks amazing! With all that is going on in our world 🌍 right now, this video just brought a smile to my face and warmth to my heart ❤ Thank you, beautiful 🥰
I kept waiting for you to paint the hinges and the hooks 😂 I’m glad you noticed and said you’d paint them later cuz it was bugging me 😅 Such a beautiful space now!!
Everything is so beautiful.. No one would believe this is the same room! The fluting on the light glass is gorgeous. Good decision to point the light down. You don’t want the light on the ceiling but on your image of yourself in the mirror.
If you can't update the shower you could always add frosted film to the glass doors, that way at least it isn't so in your face. I love the curtains and the bathroom altogether🥰
This was so worth the wait!!! It is Glorious!!! The perfect beautiful restroom & dressing area. Thank you for taking us on this journey to continue to make your house your HOME! ❤️
That fabric ties the brown of the cabinets with a nod to the blue in the tiles and brings out the French look that you love! Romeo has fantastic taste, or rather you have rubbed off on him!
This video was worth waiting for! Your bathroom turned out beautifully. I hope it met your expectations! The brass details, wood elements, art and lovely toile curtains make a statement that you care about creating purposeful, stylish rooms throughout your home.
OMG! That is how you change those dang handles on a glass shower door? And here I am spending hours painting them! Thank you MaCenna for teaching me...again something I really will use ❤
I would recommend getting a plumber simply so you have the confidence in the install but also so they can tell you what pipes are what and where/how to shut off the water. Shortly after we purchased our house we needed a plumber. He ended up walking me through all of our pipes and where the shut off was for house and street. This was so helpful. Since then we had to have a pressure governor (can’t remember actual name) replaced, a water softener installed, and a gas line leak (tiny) fixed. I could answer the plumbers’ questions and it saved time on them crawling around the house looking for valves or figuring out which pipe they wanted. Edited to fix a terrible autocorrect
You really have a uniqueness in your designs and choices. You have made this bathroom look so high end that the tiles look out of place. This bathroom is tolerating those tiles!
I know you really want that painting to be hydrangeas but I'm pretty certain they are carnations! Also, I think that painting is way to precious to be in a humid bathroom!
I've had a new faucet purchased for my primary bathroom for over a year - completed the whole makeover and just haven't done that piece bc I'm so afraid and you made it look SO EASY 😭I love everything here
MaCenna I sure wish I had had your skills when I was young so I could make my home as beautiful as yours, you are amazing at all the different talents you have and the skill to just do anything you set your mind too, I love watching you transform that beautiful house. That bathroom turned out gorgeous and those curtains really made it special, you should be so proud of yourself!
It looks amazing! Boy is there anything you can’t do! I always chicken out when it comes to plumbing! A gorgeous MaCenna bathroom redesign! I LOVE everything you did in this room, such an amazing, talented, beautiful young woman! Keep on doing what you do… ❤️
Wow!!!…the little blue motif looks so different with the wood and organic accents…sophisticated even…thank you for the video…it was so worth the wait ❤️❤️
Absolutely love this bathroom. The curtains are amazing. You make everything look so effortless. You can take a small paint brush thick and flat on bottom with modern podge and stipple over a print and when it dries it looks like an original. So enjoyed this upgrade.❤
I love what you've done to the bathroom, it's fabulous MaCenna! Here's a little tip for making your curtains hang much straighter... Sew curtain weights inside the hems of each curtain. For a much cheaper alternative, using some plain scrap fabric, you could make 4 small fabric bags and insert a small coin inside each of the bags, then sew the bags into the lower corner of each hem of the curtain. To make the pleats stay in place... Gather the pleats together, as you did in the video, then using 4 strips of scrap fabric (or some ribbon, or binding) gently wrap the fabric around the pleats (near the top and the bottom of the curtain), pin the fabric strip to itself to secure it, and leave the curtains overnight. In the morning, remove the fabric strips and your pleats will be set in place and will look perfect.
What a lovely result! Other comments mentioned it but as I work in the field of artwork preservation I have to say humidity, changes in temperature and direct sunlight are the 3 biggest things that will ruin your painting which I’m guessing will be an issue for this bathroom. It’s really not a matter of if but when it will get damaged. which would be such a shame for such a beautiful and unique piece. Amazing job as always, your vision is so on point
Did you end up figuring out how to convert that one strange cabinet/laundry area in your vanity into a regular cabinet? Would love to see how to do that!
❤The curtains are gorge!*Tip...Use some masking tape around the curtains once you have them pleated together in the middle and around the bottom. After a couple of days remove the masking tape and the pleats will be set.
By adding your touches of contrasting colors and patterns, my eyes now go to the right places. Now I see the beauty in the details: the blue flower tiles, the pretty sink, the beams, and windows all become interesting rather than disappearing in a all white room.
My soul is full seeing all your beautiful ideas! I will be buying a home soon and am excited to try my own ideas as well. French country is my go to as well! ❤
Hi MaCenna, the bathroom turned out pretty cozy and inviting. Please be careful with that old painting, if it's valuable or something you really treasure, the bathroom humidity is a no no. Xo.
Beautifully simple transformation. Sustainable too. Always more environmentally-friendly to use items you already have wherever possible than buy new. New pieces rarely have any character and aren't built to last. I love the combination of printed linens, vintage carved frames and antique artwork. Effortless look.
Absolutely elevated! And we went from alright to gorgeous. I am going to apply your eye type of POV: the light switch needs your additional touch, thats all darling 😅
Oh things are looking so beautiful. That hydrangea painting is really so beautiful but you need to protect it being in a humid place it could get damaged eventually. You need to protect it in a frame and glass to protect it from damage or pick another thing to hang on the wall that gives some cool vibes. Thanks again for sharing another wonderful video.
Wow! I absolutely love those blue tiles now too! You’re totally inspiring me to makeover my home to feel that warm, cozy, and special way you always do. ❤
So beautiful!! But a warning; that hydrangea painting will likely get pretty damaged with all the humidity, since it’s not sealed up in a frame + glass! I’d recommend putting something a little less precious in such a humid space!!
Exactly what I thought too. Big no from me. If you love that painting keep it away from the bathrooms!
Perfect time to switch out for a printed print of her mom’s work!
I had the same reaction. It will definitely get ruined in that location.
Yeah 😬 it’s so beautiful, but the bathroom is so so risky
Also I don’t feel like it goes with the bathroom well either!
I never thought of bathrooms as cosy, that's exactly what I'm feeling here. Those curtains, cupboards😯Absolutely breathtaking MaCenna🤯
awww thank you so much! that's always what i strive for is "cozy" :)
I would love to see you use the same fabric from the cafe curtains to line your laundry basket. I think you should make your own frame for the French artwork. You already know the process with the mirror.
The bathroom turned out just LOVELY. I'm so glad you chose that fabric for the curtains. It was PERFECT.
thank youuu!
You brought France back with you into this room. My 2 favorites are the beams and the curtains. Everything you've done has elevated this space 100%.
Holds up light fixture, gasp… ‘which WaYYY?!?!’ 😂😂😂 that was so dramatic😂😂😂 Everything looks great!
It’s concerning to me how fast I clicked on this video 😂 so stoked to see the results.
We have all been waiting 😂😂😂
saaame! 😂
Me too!!! 😂
Same here😂🎉
Same
The curtains are EVERYTHING!! Even makes me love the little blue tiles now!!
RIGHT??? i was like wow i like these tiles now hahah
La toile de jouy et les carreaux bleus 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Ok I know it's a smaller detail, but the shower handle is... Everything. So pretty! And your choice on the curtain fabric was perfect. 👌
Girl, you knocked it out of the park!! For the money, the selections all tied in so well to give that warm, cozy vintage french lived in feel ❤
thank youuuu!
I love everything you did in this space..it does seem budget friendly..can i also just say..i love the fact that you keep in the "bloopers" like turning on the faucet and getting sprayed while you were under the sink..makes it very human and not just cut out and "perfect"
I still can’t get over how amazing the wood turned out. Everything came together beautifully. Another job well done!
Honestly with the changes you made MaCenna I would keep it like that without another remodel. I love it.

Very nice transformation! That clip of Kinsley going wild gets me every time 😂
When I put an oil painting in my bathroom I sealed it both sides with varnish that I bought at an art suppliers. My friend, who works at a museum with paintings, suggested this. Otherwise she said they would go mouldy.

Wow MaCenna the bathroom is soooo beautiful !!! I would be happy with it for a long time without doing doing major reno , no need !!!
Me too!
Wow, just wow, McCenna! That bathroom looks amazing!
With all that is going on in our world 🌍 right now, this video just brought a smile to my face and warmth to my heart ❤
Thank you, beautiful 🥰
Another “you hit it out of the park!” renovation! I love it!
Wow! You certainly have an Eye for style!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You elevated this bathroom to next level!
Love the makeover!❤
aww thank you so much!
Inspired. Only one thought. Upgrade the switch plate and paint the outlets by the baseboards .
loveee how the blue in the curtains brings out the blue tiles! Great Job Macenna !
The new wall color changed the whole feel of the room, it is cozy; love that you went with the fabric that has blue. As always, beautiful 🤩
Be careful of the humidity in the bathroom on that old painting!
I kept waiting for you to paint the hinges and the hooks 😂 I’m glad you noticed and said you’d paint them later cuz it was bugging me 😅 Such a beautiful space now!!
❤ So happy to see this pop up! It's 1.18am in England and I'm up poorly 😢 Just what I needed
I love what you did with that bathroom! It looks like a total remake!!! Excellent!! Congratulations!!
I’m so glad Romeo Picked that curtain material 💙🤍🤎💙🤍🤎
Love the entire makeover! Removing the big towel bar makes your room look so much larger.
those cafe curtains....chef's kiss! the flooring was gorgeous
What a beautiful transformation. You really know how to make the best parts of a room shine, and update the rest to match.
OMG! That is how you change those dang handles on a glass shower door? And here I am spending hours painting them! Thank you MaCenna for teaching me...again something I really will use ❤
This bathroom just makes me want to smile. I love it, everything works!

I am in awe with how the bathroom has turned out 😍 every detail makes this renovation amazing.
Great job Macenna 💕🌻
You really have a uniqueness in your designs and choices. You have made this bathroom look so high end that the tiles look out of place. This bathroom is tolerating those tiles!
The bathroom is so cute and cozy now! I absolutely love the blue tiles and hope you keep them even if you switch out the countertops 😊
I know you really want that painting to be hydrangeas but I'm pretty certain they are carnations! Also, I think that painting is way to precious to be in a humid bathroom!
I've had a new faucet purchased for my primary bathroom for over a year - completed the whole makeover and just haven't done that piece bc I'm so afraid and you made it look SO EASY 😭I love everything here
Perfect distraction from the world's atrocities right now. Love you
MaCenna I sure wish I had had your skills when I was young so I could make my home as beautiful as yours, you are amazing at all the different talents you have and the skill to just do anything you set your mind too, I love watching you transform that beautiful house. That bathroom turned out gorgeous and those curtains really made it special, you should be so proud of yourself!
MaCenna, when I think you have done to the top, you come with a budget friendly bathroom remodel, My hats off to you my dear.
Been watching your journey the last few years! Love the bathroom makeover so charming. I love your style!
What a lovely result!

Did you end up figuring out how to convert that one strange cabinet/laundry area in your vanity into a regular cabinet? Would love to see how to do that!
Appreciation comment for Macenna's music selection that is always so beautiful and cozy! ❤
I LOVE the fabric you chose for the cafe curtains. So so pretty. You did an amazing job!!
30:11 I really like the white linens with the black designs on them- 3rd and 6th from the left.
I love all the changes but I must say I’m most impressed with the cabinetry! Way to go girl! ❤❤
❤The curtains are gorge!*Tip...Use some masking tape around the curtains once you have them pleated together in the middle and around the bottom. After a couple of days remove the masking tape and the pleats will be set.
This room feels so warm and inviting now! And also elevated and beautiful as always! Fantastic work Macenna!
By adding your touches of contrasting colors and patterns, my eyes now go to the right places. Now I see the beauty in the details: the blue flower tiles, the pretty sink, the beams, and windows all become interesting rather than disappearing in a all white room.
You never disappoint you smashed it again love the space ❤ xxx
It’s beautiful. I think you need to have your own interior design show! ❤
Xo.
It looks so beautiful. I noticed that the hook on the back of the door is also still silver/chrome, I don’t know if you picked up on that.
The curtains made such a difference! A good reminder that fabric helps soften and bring coziness to hard surfaces.
Oh my such beauty ❤ I always watch your videos and look around my house to make changes and improvements 😏
Omg, your excited face when you finished the curtains was the CUTEST!!😊
Beautiful beautiful makeover! Love the beams and the cafe curtains, and of course the brass!
Kinsley is too cute helping with the plumbing lol. She was like what mom?! Lemme see 🐩
I love your bathroom. It feels so inviting and lovely.
Beautifully simple transformation. Sustainable too. Always more environmentally-friendly to use items you already have wherever possible than buy new. New pieces rarely have any character and aren't built to last. I love the combination of printed linens, vintage carved frames and antique artwork. Effortless look.
I've been waiting for this ALLL day!! Can't wait to see how it all turns out!!😍😍😍
Absolutely elevated! And we went from alright to gorgeous. I am going to apply your eye type of POV: the light switch needs your additional touch, thats all darling 😅
Loved it , the curtains were a gorgeous addition to the space ❤
Oh things are looking so beautiful. That hydrangea painting is really so beautiful but you need to protect it being in a humid place it could get damaged eventually. You need to protect it in a frame and glass to protect it from damage or pick another thing to hang on the wall that gives some cool vibes. Thanks again for sharing another wonderful video.
Wow! I absolutely love those blue tiles now too! You’re totally inspiring me to makeover my home to feel that warm, cozy, and special way you always do. ❤
