I grew up in a hoard house and I resent my parents for it. It was never anything gross like rotten food or pet fur, it was always just mounds of stuff like papers, magazines, trinkets etc. As well, I have a phobia of hoarding and start to panic if more than 2-3 items are on any given surface. I’m not sure that hoarders realize just how serious it is to the kids and they’re either hoarders themselves or become phobic like I am.
It works the other way round too though. With an OCD parent or someone who doesn’t let you keep anything as a child, you may grow up to be a hoarder or have some hoarding tendencies to make up for what you couldn’t have as a child.
I think mental illness is an internal selfish disease in and of itself. Many people with depression OCD and what not get help because they don't want to continue to hurt their loved ones. I understand what you're saying
@@CC12398 Totally agree with all of that comment. It’s really tough when people don’t get help and I won’t even visit my parents house anymore because now it’s everything I said plus a lot of dirty dishes and trash laying around. They’ve just gotten to the point where they don’t care

I loved the old lady cleaner Lin, she tells it like it is and doesn't have a filter, love that about her. Like her, my Mother taught me a very excellent life lesson that has carried on with me my whole adult life and throughout my 13 year Army military career as a Logistical Supply Sergeant. She taught me "Homework comes first, chores comes second, all other responsibility comes third, fun comes last!" And that lesson has been very useful and effective throughout the rest of my life. I myself state "That a good home is a clean, organized, maintained, well decorated, efficient home."

How is that any more wasteful than the people who buy those disposable toilet wand things? It's all the same. Toaster ovens are notoriously hard to clean. She didn't say she *never* cleans it, but that when it gets to the point she can't clean it, she throws it away. A LOT of people do that, they just don't think about it. I'll ask you: HOW do you disinfect a toaster oven. Just tell me because I have not found a way. And even with oven cleaner, they are impossible to clean very well. They're cheap, you can get one for twenty bucks. That's the price of a few cans of oven cleaner.
I really wish they would make more shows. I’ve seen every OCD Cleaner, including the season about British Estate houses. I’ve watched Kim & Aggie on How Clean is Your House. Wont get anymore out of those 2 (there was a “falling out). Even Kim’s Canadian show, Kim’s rude Awakening. The American Hoarders show isn’t nearly as fun. I would be happy with more OCD Cleaners.
Smh. I don’t know how ppl live like this but after having their home thoroughly cleaned I hope they are so delighted to live in cleanliness that they maintain the cleanliness of the home.
Hum 🤔 so she cleans the oven she doesn't use and doesn't clean the small one she uses!!!😳 Ok to each their own!✌However, she's a very nice lady for helping this older couple. The lady helping the two gentlemen is a sweetheart!
I'd love to say I hope the messy people donate their stuff but I'm actually a bit worried there may be moths, or other insects/mould hidden in the clothes etc which would get passed on to other poor unsuspecting people... How wasteful western society is
Just send it to the recycling land fill and start fresh. All societies are wasteful EASTERN societies are the cause of almost all plastic pollution, particularly in the oceans. they do not abide by international agreements.
There's a glut of stuff out there. Charities today only accept clean and sealed stuff, otherwise it would be just hoarders looking to transfer their junk.
Oh Hell No! That older woman was a very good sport as Mark boogies and leaves her to the disaster he created. I would NOT try to help anyone who didn’t care enough to help themselves. Not happening.
Send her your address, she can forward the dirty one to you. :) You'll both be happy. How about doing something about all of the disposable diapers in land fills? They are non recyclable. Think about how many MILLIONS there are every year, wrapped in plastic.
@Dani Fairyadin You cannot clean a toaster oven. It's impossible. You can't clean a toaster either. You can shake them out, vacuum them, wipe them out, but they will never be clean. They are one of the main areas where roaches lay their eggs to hatch.
If you want to change the world, start with DISPOSABLE DIAPERS, one of the largest NON RECYCLEABLE items in land fills. These people are trying to change lives.
OMG 😭 .... He had a cold and threw the snotty papers tissues on the floor.....😢 I'd have refused to even go in. But!! I can believe that some men are just utter piss bag pigs. I can't understand why they would choose to live that way. My husbands parents were like this, just happy to live around it. Walk into a cluttered house and feel dizzy.
Did it look like it was ever used in that place? Give me a break. He probably found it in a dumpster. He sure didn't BUY a Dyson. Come on. Everything in that freaking house needed to be torched. You know it's full of roaches and rats.
These OCD ladies would drive me insane if I knew them. My own sister has OCD and I couldn't stand to be inside of her house. I don't like germs but I'm not about to use bleach on everything. The fumes will make you very ill. Vinegar and baking soda is fine to use.
LOL! No, I don't know about that person, but I had that title for a short while. I was showing people how to keep track of monthly expenses and balance their money accounts, and giving advice to others who were looking for 'advice' on how to get that first loan.

If I were to ask for someone to come in to my hoarded home to help me clean up, the last person I would ask is a compulsive cleaner. They're too demeaning to the hoarders. Shaming isn't a particularly positive way of encouraging people to change their behaviors.
Why does it seem like almost all of the British home on these cleaning shows all have black mold? I owned my own cleaning business, so I'd want to get cleaning. However I'd much rather see a bunch of dust and piles of junk than to be standing in a room where a whole wall appears as tho the black mold is the only thing keeping the wall up
No. It's so spotless already that is whyit is an easy clean. All surfaces are already clear, there is no clutter, there's nothing to scrub because she cleans daily.
First time I've met with the advice to throw out the appliances when they got dirty! Maybe, move to another place when the one you're living in gets too messy & filthy?
Toaster ovens are notoriously difficult to clean. I worked at a place where we threw the one in the workroom away every 3-4 months and bought a new one. You cannot get them clean, they harbor bugs, and they only cost $20, not much more than a couple of cans of easy off.
