Obsessive cleaners Caren and Dave visit Britta's bungalow home in the north west of the USA. Can they sort out the clutter, leftover food scraps and all the dog poo stains?
going to bed with fresh sheets and shaved legs is better than any sleeping pill!!!
That's hilarious, and so true!
karey lester , this is so funny but SO TRUE!
LITERALLY ME RIGHT NOWWW AHHH
karey lester yeah right
Add a shower and sleeping nude with fresh sheets and shaved legs is an ultimate high
Let’s be honest, most people watch these videos to motivate them to clean their own homes.
That's why I watch them. Those shows are total motivators.
I do that. I clean alot more now that I watch them. I wasn't as bad as these people but I was lazy.
So true!
DOING THAT RIGHT NOW lol
Time to do dishes and laundry, so of course I'm going to watch this show! It's the perfect motivation!
Hoarder: can't use apliances because house is to messy
Cleaners: can't use things because they are too clean
Angelique Hadry 😭😂
Living with both surely kill me
Then there are the people in the middle
The flip sides of the same coin.
The blond seems like such a genuinely kind and empathetic person. I hope she deals with her OCD and finds happiness in her life.
She’s such a lovely person.... they all are really!
Dudeeeee that lady is a cross walk worker at my old elementary school
@@fr5655 Do you mean Britta or Caren? I'm thinking you mean Britta since Caren is a retired beautician. But I'm often wrong.🙂
@@WoodlandPoetry I forgot her name, I’ll I remember is that she drives a red car and smokes cigarettes and she’s super nice.
@@WoodlandPoetry also yes her name is britta
These hoarders must have cast-iron immune systems.
Being too clean and germ-phobic actually weakens your immune system. But there is an extreme in the other direction.
What doesnt kill you makes you stronger.
Those ocd cleaners are coming home with all kinds of aids then 😂
My mom had ocd and bleached everything down everyday. Also, never let us go out or get dirty . Now me and my brother are allergic to everything and get sick easy asf.
the crazy cowgirl “stand a little taller” 🎶
And I’ll bet the OCD cleaners have just as much pain in their past as Britta does. It just manifests differently.
You're probably the only intelligent person in this comments section.
Like with any other OCDs and OCBs, it's all about control. "I cannot control my entire life or the world I live in, but I can at least control SOME portion of my life/ the world around me." You don't realize it until you do some research on this mental disorder or if you suffer from it.
thank you
@@danielpickett9877 Hey! What about me? LOL
I remember a health program, where some one is over eating because his family forced him to eat his complete dish when he was a kid , and the other one is so skinny and don't like to eat for exact same reason
My mother looked at me after I showed her a small scene and she said “that’s you without me in your life” 😂😂😂😂
As a Mama, I can so relate! Haha!
Moms are amazing
😂😂😂😂😂
My mom is a literal angel. She spent about 5 hours this weekend helping me clean my house after a spell of hoarding/depression. I’m so lucky to have her
My hubby without me 😂
"Most people think its garbage..Unshed tears look like garbage." I really FELT that on so many levels 😩😩
She's the calmest & the most compliant hoarder I've ever seen!
Me too🤗
SHOCKED she let them in without her…
She isnt a hoarder actually, just lazy and filthy.
@@blueberry_pie exactly. Just plain LAZY

Ikr i genuinely laughed out loud
I watched and laughed several times.......
I just love that man ( Dave ) he's so flipping funny.......and blonde cracks me up !
The lady of the house......hate ta say it though she is sweet as pie I find her a bit phony because when the cleaners bring things to her attention she's like WHAT !! OH NO ! and she's the one that put it there. She makes coffee every morning , she sees the mess.....I just don't get not throwing out trash, you can't throw out just down right trash ?
"The time to clean is when things are dirty " hahahaha she hadn't seen with her eyes open it's been Dirty since moby dick was a small sardine.

I think she watched that from TLC if I'm not mistaken.
@@Mikayla_5 Yes! "Wife Swap"! I've literally only watched 2 episodes and that was one of them. The dad bawled his head off because his kids ate cooked meat and thought that it would harm them!
And the country music in the background. It's Washington!
At 31:06 Britta says something very profound: "That's what unshed tears look like." Bless her heart.💔
Yes. That poked.
The obsessive cleaners have just as many issues as the hoarders, but them helping each other is really heartwarming :)
But I'd rather be obsessively clean that excessively dirty
Ok I choose the obsessive cleaners issues, deal!
i agree ;)
Agree!
At least they not going to die from lung infection.
She seems like such a nice lady. At least she is aware of her problem, instead of denying it.
yeah the blonde cleaner, britta sounds like a narcissist, she is so annoying
a hoarder or a lazy person is in complete denial...they lie to themselves when they can clearly see dog shit smeared and dried all over the carpet.
@Kat J not an extreme hoarder no.
@@MrsLockenload so your judgements are based on assumptions and what you've seen on social media rather than actual facts and experiences? That's a very ignorant way of thinking and you'd be quite upset if someone did the same to you. Hell, I'd be first in line to judge you based off your very moronic statement.
@@telesamherring you have already judged me. clearly. I make no apologies for how I feel about an extreme hoarder, what I think about an extreme hoarder is different based on each particular scenario as to why they are hoarding. it doesnt make me a moron to have my own opinion.

Shes such a sweet and lovely woman. Once she opened up about her past, you could see the light returning to her heart. Shes got such an amazing personality and compassion. I'm glad they were able to help her move past her struggles 💜

Y'all have NO IDEA about what I signed about zero cleaning for weeks prior.
lol britta, girl, that mess was nothing to be proud of - of course the show wanted it to be intense but you were there for a reason.

I feel like people fail to realize that hoarding is a form of OCD. OCD has so many different forms it’s not just about cleaning. These people are both suffering from the same thing, and exposure therapy is one of the most effective ways to cope with it. The cleaners are not crazy. The hoarders are not lazy. Some people don’t seem to understand that.
Also the dog stole the show. What a good doggo
Erica Machado my grandmother was OCD and she went from compulsively cleaning to hoarding
Erica Machado
OCD is where someone repeats rituals/patterns to an unhealthy level. It can be many things. Cleaning, hoarding, you can be OCD in relationships, or counting things, checking locked doors over and over, it’s basically endless the things that can be considered OCD.
My sister is OCD in a eat where she is paranoid of intrudes. so she will spend the entire night checking all the windows, doors, and checking on the family members over and over and over.
I am also OCD, specially relationship OCD. I check my lovers social media, phone and even his game consoles to make sure he isn’t cheating, even though he’s never cheated before and I have no reason to believe he is.
People with OCD are always just looking for some kind of reassurance.
Me,Myself, and I I think it’s super interesting no need to apologize hahah. It took me a while to get diagnosed because I thought if I didn’t say things the “correct way” where they felt right that it would kill the people in their sleep. Also if I did something to one half of my body I would have to do it to the other. Including burning myself or breaking a bone I would have to try to break the other arm or make sure it hurt the same hahah. Our brains are weird! Thank god for therapy!
Erica Machado all OCD is is a Anxiety disorder driven by the need for a rigid structured routine.
I agree!!!!
Why why, i feel like britta would be a good friend. She's so relatable, articulate and pure. 😘😘 This is my favorite episode.
Thank you! I am a good friend. I have lots of love in my heart. Thanks so much for seeing that!
God bless that woman's soul. She had been through so much. It is so good to see her smile and be happy in her own home again.
I love this lady and think this is one of my favorite episodes. "That's what unshed tears looks like." My heart breaks for her. She's a very caring person - she helps the homeless, she works with children in her job, I'd want to be her friend. I'm so glad the OCC came to help her and I hope it made things better for her. She's very brave. And to all the people who criticize, all I can say is that all of us have some area of our life that needs improvement, she just happened to share hers with all of us. I think that is incredible.
She has even more excuses than she has garbage.
I agree 💯%! She was so matter of fact about it. She is brave and honest. I saw almost no denial. She seemed very intelligent to me.
@@taylorfausett177 for reach that levels of hoarding and grime, she NEEDS huge amounts of denial in her life.

I love how Dave calls a garbage bag a bin liner. Much classier.
Dave was so awesome to work with! We had a blast!
When she finally told her story at the 30minute mark, it proves that you have more compassion for someone once you know their history. And it’s never about the clutter, or the garbage, or the shopping. There is always something heartbreaking behind it.
When watching hoarders I never cried during an episode because usually I know it’s their fault. Then Karen’s episode happened and I cried like a baby because her hoarding started when her husband just left her for no reason and her oldest son killed himself because he thought he was the reason why dad left and it was so sad

Most of the time I watch videos like this to motivate me, which this did. But also this time I fell in love with all three of these characters. Truely all three are beautiful souls
Britta's a lot nicer than a bunch of the other hoarders on this show.
I can't even begin to thank you enough for saying this! Thank you so much! My heart is in the right place, but my brain got highjacked from common sense. Lucia Roda 1375, you are truly a gem for being kind today!
hi britta! i definitely agree, you're truly such a sweetheart! thank you for being so willing to be helped! make sure you keep clean and remember how strong you are. i also recommend having a cooking party to celebrate your new kitchen!!!
I agree. When I see someone's house like this my first thought is maybe they're depressed.. it's very hard to even care when in depression. Then as you slowly get better, you've become accustomed to it. :( It's much easier to throw your energy into other people to get out of your head/own life for a while. She really seems like a sweetheart and would be a great friend.
My sister is like this and I'm like the British ppl . I think it is depression , but so is OCD too .
@@brittaevans9808, I'm so proud of you! I've been messy and depressed myself up till last year, so I understand how overwhelming it is. My mother would strap the jacket on herself and haul my off to the hospital!
On paper I agree with this, but honestly, I really do see where shes coming from. Theres should never be a reason to waste good products when they can go to people in need. I use to work in a donation shelter for a charity thrift, and we had to throw away any donations that wouldn't sell fast enough- honestly that was devastating. I don't know why we think we're better than trash, I think a lot of fixing the waste crisis and over consumption crisis we see today comes down to facing our trash and learning that objects are valuable beyond their price and treating them with the respect they deserve.

@@brittaevans9808 If the dog is incontinent simply keep him confined to a room that has a washable floor. Buy what are called puppy pads that are absorbent and he will go on them. Use a baby gate to confine him when you're not home so he can't foul the carpet. Many people have elderly dogs. You can have one too and still live in a habitable home. The dog will actually appreciate it as they are naturally clean like any animal and don't want to foul their den. But you will have to wash the floor under the pads. Good luck.
You know that feeling when you get out of the shower, shaved your whole body, smell really fresh and you dry your hair and go to bed knowing you are clean and your tasks are all complete? Anxiety who?

“To most people it looks like garbage, but to me it’s unshed tears. Unshed tears look like garbage and dust”. Wow I’ve watched so many cleaning and hoarding shows and I didn’t understand hoarding until now. It must take immense strength to overcome.
Enz Di Cristofaro I don’t feel bad for her! I’ve been cheated on by a men. Men I have children with but I would NEVER ALLOW my children to live in an unsanitary house! There is NO excuse for that! Your child is living in a house with 💩 and rotten food bc of a man?! Nope 👎 She should be ashamed of herself. She said her house has been like that for years, so her son was still a boy! It’s her responsibility as a mother to put her big girl panties on and provide her son with a safe home!
Amy Doe shut up Amy you don’t understand mental health.
Kitty The Bitty 🤣 I understand responsibilities! Actually, I’ve been diagnosed with depression and never took the medicine bc it made me feel weird. Everybody goes through bad 💩 that can f*ck them up in the head! That doesn’t give somebody a pass on taking care of their kids! So you stfu! DSS would’ve seen that, they would’ve taken her kids, and given her an option to clean it up or lose them. Not ohhhh you have a sad story, never mind providing your children a safe place to live! If she knew she mentally couldn’t handle providing them a safe clean place to live, she should’ve sought mental help so she could! BOTTOM LINE you don’t allow your children to live in feces!
Amy Doe bottom line, depression is a very bad mental illness. It’s different for everyone, just because it’s YOU, doesn’t mean it’s everyone else. Literally open your mind some more smh.
I have depression and I become kinda nasty sometimes, is shameful and take a lot of to just get out of the bed, cleaning is a particular battle but I totally agree with Amy, people this filthy shouldn't be allowed to raise children. Her son grown up in a dumpster and he is become lazy and unable to clean his own mess, this is no place for a kid. If she can't put her shit together she should not be responsible for the education of a human being.

Really made me think....
Sadly, I had a cousin, who in her 20's was raped by a man who came in through her apartment window. We worked together and she always had a smile for everyone. Time went on and she rose up the ranks to the head of human resources and bought a house. A big cape code with attic and basement. We had lost touch in those years, sadly just seeing each other at weddings and funerals. Because of the rape, she became a hoarder, blocking every conceivable entrance to her house. Not only was her house full to the brims with only a pathway to her living room, she also had a storage unit full of things. Then she started to fill her car with things and people at work, who really loved her, wanted her to go for help. I don't know if they knew that she only slept sitting upright on her couch? Well, she took their love and help for her as an insult and an assault. I know I offered to come over with her sister and help, but she declined. She also had two little dogs who slept on her lap while she slept. With the stress of her employer wanting her to seek help, she died in her sleep, on the couch with her two dogs. At work, they had known something was wrong when she did not show up for work, as she never missed a day's time. She had died of a heart attack. RIP Shirley.

@@brittaevans9808 I was thinking there might be a spark. You could get him out socializing and he could remind you to clean house regularly. Have you been working with a therapist since for support?
I love Dave too. He totally cracks me up. Scrubbing the toilet, saying 'this sure ain't the American Dream..."
"Where have all my washcloths gone!?" Um, probably laying around in some random part of the house still waiting for their first wash.
Those two cleaners would make a really great couple. The way she stood there encouraging him as he scrubbed the toilet was the most adorable domestic energy "Take the toothbrush and get right in there!" And his grumbling response.
They'd have the shiniest, cleanest house ever.
It really bothers me when the messy owners criticize the cleaners. Don't judge the way they clean if you haven't in 3 yrs. Ughh
I think the messy owners can't imagine that anyone could possibly enjoy spending any time on cleaning, and don't really perceive any benefit to putting in the work, so they think that anyone who cleans a lot must be miserable doing so (and in the cases of the OCD cleaners, they aren't necessarily wrong).
They feel defensive--and they didn't realize that dealing with it in real life would be far harder than anything for which they'd tried to prepare themselves. The cleaner's illness is subconsciously considered a moral good by the audience, because it superficially appears much closer to the truly healthy ideal--where people keep their homes tidy. It's just like Bulimia/Anorexia vs, Compulsive Overeating Disorder. People tend to be far more kind, compassionate towards and wanting to understand why the sufferer is in that state, than people who suffer from eating disorders in which the sufferer becomes overweight, where people tend to be extremely nasty--because we still assume that the former is better morally, as their illness more superficially close to a healthy ideal of relative slenderness, and our cultural obsession with unhealthy thinness. Thus, the hoarder feels very judged, and as if it's unfair that those who are just as ill as they are, are still put in a position of moral authority. PLUS, often the OCD cleaners, don't realize how harsh they are when they come in. They don't say anything mitigating, they just go in full bore, directly saying how awful it is. Not many of us are used to criticism unfiltered in that manner, and certainly not in an area that we're very ashamed already. Let alone knowing it's going to be broadcast on TV. In spite of this, they still should not. However, this show is lopsided in a way that does put the hoarders always in the defensive position. Why aren't the hoarders ever inviting to stay with the OCD sufferers, to help them?! Why isn't it an EQUAL TRADE?!
Cherpy LaTina hoarding is more related to control issues.that s the issue, not the cleaning.
Criticism is never pleasant.
I agree with everything you said, but a reverse format of the show (where the hoarders stay with the OCD cleaners) wouldn't work. The OCD cleaners need exposure to dirt and "germs" to desensitize themselves to it. But, even that is kind of swept aside and the whole point of the show seems to be "haha look at this filthy person."
She said ..” the time to clean is when something is dirty” haha that time passed over a hundred times and she still hadn’t cleaned x😂😂😂🤣🤦🏽♀️☠️
It still clean to her!
I doubt if she is still able to maintain after the OCC cleaned the house for her. She is an assistant teacher. And I know how busy teachers and assistant teachers usually are.

I am sure our environment is an extension of out inner state of mind! I have struggled with severe stress for years, and my place was always chaos. But as I started to declutter, my mind also got a lot less burdened, and I managed to deal with a lot of my issues. It was a long road of course, not all at once like this, took me a few years. @@brittaevans9808 Hi Britta! You seem like a lovely lady. :)
maybe because he was taught to hoard but not clean?Look at the state of the house. If the woman knew how to clean she would have taught her son as well.
Britta Evans you have such a big heart. I’m a mom of 4 boys one is a preemie weighed 1 pound 2 ounces at birth and he’s almost 10 years old. I’m totally impressed with what you do for the homeless. You are such a blessing to many people I’m sure. Much love to you and your son.
These people made me tear up. All these people were really loving and kind. Everyone understood they all had issues to work on. And made me realize even more not to judge a book by its cover. I’m grateful for all their hard work cleaning up and for the loving help and care to the homeless. ❤️😘
This makes me wanna clean my house but I think I’ll just watch more youtubes
This is why I don't eat at potlucks Lol
Michelle McKay omg I might not too anymore
Michelle McKay exactly!!!!
I don’t think I will either!!😩😂
Right! You never know how some people live 😷
Michelle McKay same here!!! 🤣
My mom told me i should always keep my room clean because it reflects my personal life, if i have a dirty and disorganized room then that’s how my personal life may look like. I have always kept that in mind and my room is spotless😂😂
There is a line from a show "if it's a mess its a message,"
I try to think same way
Yes I live by that motto as well and my house is spotless but my life is so messy something is lost in the translation for me but at least keeping my house clean makes me feel as though I'm in control a little more than I actually am.
yes even tho my house isn’t the best i try to keep my space clean
This is so true
A cluttered house is a cluttered mind. I'm a hoarder. My mother was too.
I love Britta, and the cleaners in this episode. I think they all truly have huge hearts 💕. I wish them all the best. I had rather have a clean and organized house, but I feel for these people who cannot have a normal life in other areas because of their compulsions. Bless them all.
I loved that they cleaned her home and made her life much easier but also donated tons of items and repurposed things!
Lesson learned, do not eat while watching this. Lol
Losaline Kolomalu thanks for the heads up, was just about to put some fish in 😂
and yet I always do. Settle in with my dinner... and they show the first filthy place!
Make America clean again.
Edit: For all the butthurt Americans... It was just a joke. Jokes are not meant to be taken seriously. Peace y'all ✌🏼
Zath B that needs to be a hat 🧢 😂
Lol!
Zath B 😵😂😂😂
Cj Garcia Ikr 😂😂😂
Yea fat chance buddy
"ITS GOING TO BE HARD BECAUSE YOU CANT POLISH A TURD NOW CAN YOU?"
LMFAO
I love seeing her finally enjoy getting rid of things! My husband tends to keep plenty of things "in case of" too...
But since we've started deep cleaning our basement as my Christmas present, he's starting to see how pleasant it is to let go of things and donate what we can to others that'll use them :)
Man, that unshed tears moment. She should write. It would be a great outlet for her, I'm sure.
20:59 even the dog is a hoarder hahahahah
I’ve been binging on hoarders and this show 😩 I’ve been cleaning out my house like no tomorrow 😂😂😂
Yes it is a motivator to clean. I just did my sink toilet and floors Tuesday, three days ago.I feel like I should bleach down my bathroom tonight. Lol
I will never understand these people. My mother is a hoarder and I had to grow up in this shit. How do you just leave food laying around? It takes 2 seconds to throw food in the trash when you're done with it. And then the hoarders try to criticize the people cleaning.. unbelievable.
Kristina Symons Taking out the garbage & recycling is one of my favorite things. As soon as they're full they go right out to the garage.
I think it show there the same only difference is one cleans to avoid an make self feel better the other want keep everything with them to feel good an avoid whatever
Both have issue the ocd An hoarder
It basically is depression, indeed.
They just don't care anymore, they've given up on life. It's especially sad when it happens to seniors. Of course, the reasons for hoarding are different for everyone (some hoard to try to control the people around them, isolate them and keep them dependent).
please keep in mind that the producers had their own drama in mind. Ask yourself what seems likely.
cray-cray! We are crazy and want help but continue to feat the stigma an. d get brave enough to witness the shaming here. We might look lazy to y'all, but some of us continue to seek help and are trying to grow
"YOU'RE AUSTRALIAN RIGHT"
"no I'm not australian"
"YES YOU IS"
"I BLOODY AINT"
37:19
That freaking sent me🤣🤣🤣🤣
Who’s here after binge watching “HOARDERS”???🤓🤷🏽♀️
How did you know?🤣🤣🤣
Omg me
MEEE! I've been binge-watching Hoarders for the past week and finally decided to watch something a bit different. Tbh I kind of got tired of how dramatic and dark they made everything seem.
Gem Ini I’m here🤷🏽♀️ ::::raises hand in shame::::
Omg Mee🤣🤣
I loved Dave's comment. "Your house is so dirty you can't live in it and my house is so clean I can't live in it." Really great insight
When she said she can see the poo germs running everywhere, I yelled 🤣🤣🤣
Oh my gosh, Dave serving food to the homeless was so pure, I love him
Awww I love Caren! She seems to sweet and I love her accent
You can de-clutter and clean up everything and throw everything away but unless they come to the root of the evil obsession they'll keep doing it. Dave the obsessive cleaning the apartment three times a day he needs to speak to someone too... I wish all these people well!!
Exactly. He admitted that he does not even use the oven yet he cleans it 3 times a day. Ridiculous.
