When i saw this video, there are certain person with bad habit, like put her hand palm on her nose.
Marylyn is rather odd. Is fastidious about her pantry and has to have labels facing her, suffers from asthma, but is concerned about certain cleaning products aggravating the condition, but is content to live in a germy, dusty home which is 7 million times worse than cleaning chemicals!!! Sorry, but that confuses me.
It occurred to me that most of the people on these shows are completely alone and are probably depressed due to sad circumstances and are stuck in a rut. It's so sad,we should always be kind. it may happen to us.
Some of them have families/partners. I guess if both people don't like cleaning and are lazy most likely no one will clean or do anything. I just can't believe that they air is harmful yet they keep living in filth, that's worse than lazy. I think this lady must also have some other issues. The fact that she can't clean and she won't show the house to others but keep living in filth.

Yes, you're right. The sad thing is that living in this state makes you feel more depressed and you get into a vicious circle. It's much easier to keep a clean house clean, but once things get to this stage most people will need a bit of help to get things sorted, but are too embarrassed to ask.

ive been rewatching this video for years, and my favorite part will always be when aggie sneezes and kim says “i thought it was raining.” makes me laugh every time!!
I don't care what any of you hateful people say, this episode was heart warming. This woman has a beautiful spirit about herself and a kind heart. She obviously fell into depression and her troubles became too big for her to take on alone.
I can't stand a nasty unkept home and I'll be very honest with the owner if I think it's nasty, I won't accept empty blanket excuses either if they offer them up.
But this woman was clearly depressed.
I enjoyed this episode.

itsonlymyopinion ok I do the same. Yesterday I poured vinegar mixed with a little dish soap all over my basement floor and scrubbed it, then rinsed it with a hose down the drain. I just moved in this 120 yr old home, so I wanted to make sure it was clean. The difference it made was amazing.

As a professional housekeeper for a real estate company all I can say is less is more. When you live in an old house you sort of need to be a minimalist. In all honesty unless you are a spotless person, wood floors are hard to keep clean. Berber carpet is soft to walk on, keeps your floors warmer in the winter, and just run a vacuum over them. Put runners down and wear slippers in the house and its all good. My grandmother who was immaculate has a minimal amount of nice collectables. Keeping collectables in glass cabinets also eliminates dusting all the time. Less is more for sure.

Yep I couldn’t agree more. I am now just going through all my stuff getting rid of probably almost half. I am extremely tidy and clean person to start with and am ocd diagnosed. But I want to be more of a minimalist. Takes the stress and worry away of having to clean it all up everyday. So I will just be keeping what I absolutely need anything I haven’t used within the last year is going.

I love this show. It does just the slight bit of judging in the beginning (enough to keep us engaged), but afterwards is compassionate, and works with what they have. It shows how lovely a home can be, no matter ones means, and what they are working with, if they have a boost and some help to take pride in it. I dont really enjoy those expensive, ' makeover' shows. They are not realistic for an average person, but this, is achievable and inspiring.
I am watching is because my home needs attention and I was hoping for some motivation
If you are overwhelmed and dont know where to start, I would recommend searching for the Flylady here on RUclips. Amazing lady. She breaks everything into small steps. Really hope that helps,everyone deserves a lovely home!x

I suffer from depression and I struggle to stick to a routine sometimes so I can relate yes in some cases it's laziness. Once it's been left so long it's so hard to start on your own. This show is motivating me to get started though :) I just use antibacterial wipes like flash and multi surface cleaners etc cheap as anything and works a treat!
I think all the people that were on this show that weren't sick should be scientifically/ medically studied. It seems they have super strong immune systems.
However there was a high death rate among the people that visited them!

could you spend just 15 minutes tidying one room every day?... set a timer and stop tidying once the timer goes off. you could start with the smallest room eg. the bathroom.
You ladies are awesome and to the point , you also keep a sense of humor and smile even what you face is not the best but you also the people you help makes them smile and take in everything you ladies say and do in, there's no fussing at them and speak to them plainly and show them you can keep this up, you truly brighten them up! Here in the USA some shows get on to people really bad and even family and then thats when people shut down and wants to just keep it all. They sure could take some lessons from your show!

Cleaning ladies, you are simply the best. I vicariously enjoy your videos. Viewers, if your Mom didn't teach you how to keep a house clean, you can learn by watching these marvelous videos or reading cleaning books or blogs. No excuses at all. I keep a tidy house but do like to see how these ladies tackle cleaning tasks and I often learn tips from what you do. I think everyone's house is easier to clean if it is severely decluttered. If everything has a place it is much easier to put it away right after it is washed. Unless someone is severely disabled and unable physically to clean, or if they have a psychological problem such as hoarding, the proper way to clean is easy to learn and keep after for teens, men and women, whether your parents taught you to clean and tidy or not. If allergic to dust, get face masks and an air purifier.
