  • This hoarder hasn't cleaned his house in over 3 years! What sort of horrors will the cleaners find....
Louise’s home is all about order and run like a regimented ship with all nine children and her husband falling into line. Dust is tackled several times a day and fingerprints are banished from every surface. Her children follow the strict household routines meaning there is never a toy out of place. To maintain her impeccable home Louise is in complete control of every part of it; mess and dirtiness are completely unacceptable. Louise hope’s to learn how to not clean so much and make some time for herself.
Louise will be helping Paula clean her chaotic three bedroomed home. Paula’s home has become a giant toy box for her 3 year old son with his belongings scattered in every room. Her home is overrun with random objects, piles of paperwork and dirty dishes. Paula has not deep cleaned her home in 3 years and feels overwhelmed when she tries to tackle it. But Louise’s no nonsense approach soon starts to ruffle Paula’s feathers.

@@jadevu904I've only watched the intro but I feel bad for her. You just know Paula was feeling bad for the other ladies kids while she was talking about what
they're not allowed to do and where they're not allowed to go. A mentally ill person telling another person who's probably mentally ill how to live their life. I have 4 kids and 4 cats and 2 dogs. My house isn't immaculate but it's clean. I have a robot vacuum which is a godsend and my kids can pick up the floor for the robot they know they have to put away anything they don't want sucked up. 🤣 The cat litters have to be plentiful so nobody has any accidents but most cats only poo once a day, immediately after you feed them breakfast and clean their wee litter so if you do it once a day after your morning chores are done it's more than enough, even with multiple cats. And no, they don't innately stink, if you can smell your cats they're marking because they're territorial and need more enrichment or you need to clean the litter. Simple. Just make it in your morning routine right after you put your first load of the day on.
      My morning routine is-
Let the dogs out and feed them, feed the cats, empty the dishwasher, put a load of washing on, put the dry stuff away, clean the cat litter, let the cats out into the run, feed the kids breakfast, stack the dishes and clean the kitchen, put the kids lunches in their bags, take them to school. The robot vac starts while I'm out and cleans after I'm home. I get back and have the day to potter and do bigger tasks as needed. Shopping, mowing the grass, watering plants, making beds, doing a hobby, going to the gym, walking the dogs, reading a book in the sun with the cats (in their catio) etc. it's not impossible to stay on top of it. 6 hours a day is absolutely bonkers.

There’s a massive difference between being untidy and being unhygienic. These houses were filthy and germ infested. However, the obsessive cleaners also live an unhealthy lifestyle as their lives have been overtaken by constant cleaning and fanaticism and they all need some sort of therapy to help them. Both extremes are very sad and there’s so much to be said for a happy medium!

Then started in the kitchen throwing out things I didn't need or use. It took me 6 months to clean out my house. It's still not perfect but you can move from room to room without stepping on or bumping into things. Her child can't clean for himself and the cats don't either. The cats vomited and pooped everywhere, because the whole house was like a bathroom to them. If you have a child and pets, this is not how you cherish having them in your life. This is not the way to show someone you love them. The relationship between garrett and tom is refreshing from the point of view of how one person with depression cant clean and the other with OCD cant stop cleaning, their conversations show empathy and a willingness to understand each others mental health issues and holding space for the others struggles which are different than their own, as someone with depression who once had a roommate with undiagnosed OCD, i had to face a lot of aggression and unpleasentness from my roommate even when i wasnt anything as messy as garrett here, and finally had to move out of that place, its a breath of fresh air to see Tom being so soft with Garrett and at the end when Garret asked him how he would feel when he gets old and realises he missed out on making the happy memories with friends coming over to his home to enjoy because he feared being messy, and Tom agreeing with him. We need more people like Tom.

Louise having all her kids' clothes in one room that they're not allowed in doesn't make sense. The older ones can't dress themselves without her permission because they need her to get the clothes for them. So stupid. Makes way more sense for their clothes to be in their cupboards in their rooms and then you have 1 extra room to use which, with 9 kids, you could definitely use.

    • @kniebeisseraufzack
      @kniebeisseraufzack 2 года назад +9

I thought it was actually quite a smart idea. If she had put every of her kids’ clothes into their room, she would have to sort them anyway, and buy new wardrobes to store them in, which would mean less space in the kids play area, so having everything in one spot is less work and easier to organize. Many of the kids probably have the same size, so she probably has their clothes sorted by size, and they share them, until they get bigger and can fit into their siblings clothes. It’s not quite logical for the teenager’s clothes, though. I agree with you there. He’s old enough to manage them on his own.

Paula lecturing Louise bout kids starting doing shores from small age but doesn’t that apply to herself as a grown woman?? Imagine what Louise's place would look like if she had a job beyond spitting out kids and cleaning up after them. Reckon her place would look like a dumpster too.
It's easy to judge when you got nothing else in your life. Even her kids take a back seat to cleaning. I pity her kids, I reckon they'd prefer a mother to a spotless microwave.

Always great seeing people from both ends of the spectrum and extreme coming together. You know automatically that they'll be a clash of interests and outlooks. Needless to say both parties appear to reflect on their own behaviour and hopefully they'll learn from this experience. Easy to be critical of others when you don't really know the dilemmas people themselves are going through. I perfectly understand the woman with nine children having a daily cleaning routine. For anyone with one child it's enough determination to make more of a conscious effort to clean. Having nine children all you would really have time for is cleaning, washing and ironing. Her children certainly looked happy and healthy enough.

To be fair to Louise, although extremely snooty, her house is gorgeous! I absolutely love how she’s decorated it, and fair play to her with 9 kids and keeping it immaculate - I have so much trouble with just the one! Lol!
I found Paula to be a bit grating to be honest. It may just be that she was on the defence, but she had such an entitled attitude - Louise did not have to go and take 4 days out of her time to go and help her, she got far more out of it than what Louise did, she full well knew just how bad her house was, that’s why she asked for help.

Louise needs to chill and take more time with their children. I know its hard to keep things clean but from what i see she takes more priority in cleaning .... messes are normal and kids to messes , but they grow and taking time with them is more precious. Of course we need to keep things clean aswell but balancing both would be better.

I agree that Louise was very judgmental, but Paula was just lazy, phlegmatic and sarcastic - that will bring you nowhere in life. If you have a child you are obligated to provide a clean and welcoming home for it - there is no excuse for that! Having several open cat litter boxes distributed everywhere is just a no go with kids around. I also found it incredible that instead of focusing to clean and tidying herself and thereby setting a positive example, she thinks her 4 year old child is old enough to clean up after himself😠

I don't think you should have cats if you don't have time to clean up their litter boxes, those looked disgusting. Cats are very clean animals and some will even refuse to use the litter box if you don't pick up the waste immidiatly, very disrespectful to the cats and unhygienic specially when she has a child who could get to them.

Um, my youngest has just turned 5 and is perfectly capable of clearing up after himself. He puts his dirty clothes in the hamper, his dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and tidies up his toys every night before bed.
