The best thing that happened to Embraer in the recent past was that the deal with Boeing fell through.
Amen to that - I think many people thought it would be a disaster for Embraer...if only people knew then....
To be granted interviews by the major builders and airlines is a MAJOR achievement, specially a RUclips channel. Congratulations Colby! Very happy to see your triumphs and bless your future.
Embraer still one of the best options for regional flights. great that the marketing VP had the time for you! Really impressive and humble guy!
Embraer proves the duopoly Airbus/Boeing can be disrupted quite successfully if, and when, a company decides to invest its resources at excelling with a product, dominating the market for short-haul regional jets with capacity above 60 passangers - particularly when you consider the differences in size and budget.
Embraer doesn't compete with neither Boeing nor Airbus.
That's what keep them afloat.
@@tiagogomes3807 incorrect...Embraer's planes directly compete with the a220...and eventually the 737 max 7 when its out...
Where Embraer excels is its focus on planes that clients for the segment want...where as Boeing is just getting on the market to not loose further market share (and to release a plane in a potentially very interesting segment in the future) to airbus who - didn't even want to get into the segment, but couldn't really say no to a free plane...
First, this interview was conducted brilliantly!
Second, as a pilot who has flown both the E175 and the 737 I wholeheartedly wish Embraer would enter the larger narrow body market. Not only is the passenger experience better on E-jets but from a pilots perspective they are night and day better.
Interesting comment. Can you give more details about the main differences between them?
Embraer is very underrated
Seconded.
Definitely.
Most candid interview with a corporate exec I've ever seen. Kudos to both the interviewer and the interviewee.
These interviews are so good I hope you keep doing the
With how great Embraer is doing and Boeing's lack of narrow body competitiveness with Airbus I wish Embraer would build a 737/A320 competitor, though it makes total business sense for them to stay in their smaller aircraft niche where they have little to no competition.
Same! I'd really love to see them take on atleast the A319/A220-300 category
My thoughts exactly. The global market needs more options
The E195-E2 is already a competitor against the a220 and a319 @@oadka
For sure they have an internal project for wide body plane. They aren't stupid. But it's a looong shot and they have to carefully choose the most favorable moment to launch themselves up.
@@leogama3422they don't have the financial capacity to develop a wide body plane.
Not even close!!
They could develop a E200, a little wider, a little longer then the 195E2, already in the class of the A320/737.
And use that as a base to develop a new plane in the 757/A321 class.
To create something from scratch they would need 12 or 13 billion dollars, they don't have it nor can they borrow it.
Probably their best move at the moment would be to redo the 175E2 to comply with the American weight limits.
Gain knowledge and experience with composites so they can later use composites in the future developments of the 190's class.
I hope the US regional scope clause will be adjusted to allow the heavier E2 jets to be purchased by the US regional airlines. At least increase the MTOW limit... Efficiency would be helpful
I want Embraer to win so bad…
Thanks Coby for keeping Embraer news and info on the loop. Know that you are working really hard to keep your site flowing. Constantly check on you !!!
Embraer is in the middle of two giants, Boeing and Airbus, which receives support from their governments, receives political support from governments, so it is David against Goliath. But Embraer is a creative company, which makes state-of-the-art, economical aircraft, which is climbing the ladder step by step. Long life to this fantastic company.
Fantastic interview. You came into this with all the right questions in the hopper. Love Embraer! Favorite plane to fly so far of the 4 transport types I’ve been fortunate to pilot
I love to see some embraers in Tassili Airlines fleet ❤
Coby, these interviews are fantastic. The knowledge and depth of your questions are so far ahead of other more surface level aviation publications and it gives really interesting insights. Please keep doing these
Thank you for a very well judged and paced interview - also to an interviewer who was open and very interesting
We need more of these aircraft in the United States, rather than Bombardier CRJ’s and A319’s
Embraer is the best aircraft manufacturer in the world right now.
*Embraer makes some really good aircraft. The 175-e2 will be the perfect plane to connect small and emerging markets.*
The E175-E2 would most likely have succeeded if it were of exactly the same length and capacity as the E175-E1 (due to scope clause limitations) with GE NG34 engines instead of the P&W Geared TurboFailures.
Great interview! Good questions and insightful answers.
I love you're work!!! Thanks for that. Good work!!!! Sir Josh 👏👍
Really well run interview. Thank you and big congrats on your success. Very worthy 🎉
Well done Coby, fascinating encounter.
Nice interview! Thanks for your effort 👍
Love how Brazil is in the 4front of aviation, in it's 'regional wing-lifting' success. The duopoly of Boeing (in the mix, sorry: -max), Airbus is a just. A must otherwise.
3°, Embraer is behind Boeing and Airbus
Their market fit is very well thought out
hopefully the E3 doesn't do as bad as the E2 at launch 😅😅
E3 should be made when the 797 should be made ngl
You're asking good questions, Coby!
Great video Coby very interesting! I am headed to Brazil 🇧🇷 in March to maybe even visit the Embraer HQ & production line when I’m down there and that should be AWESOME so make sure to check it out on my channel in a few weeks if you enjoy Embraer! 🛩️
Thanks 😎
Nice suit 👍Showing your respect to the guest and to your audience.
Iconic Embraer planes: Bandeirante, Super Tucano, ERJ-145, Legacy, Phenom, C-390, E-Jets
Very cool video, you asked interesting questions !
Can't wait for more! Sir Josh!
You're doing a 👍 Great job! Sir Josh
I second others. Good interview. Good questions. Cool aircraft.
Nice interview !
Love your show. Follow always.
Well stated and presented.
Awesome, thanks for the interview
Great interview! I always wanted to know if they would build a larger airplane and it was hard to find any info (I only found an interview from some years ago about this). Thank you for asking him that! Unfortunately (or fortunately), Embraer works on niches only and is a very, very pragmatic company. They won't step into any area that offers a high risk, specially now that COMAC is also another force. Anyway, it would be amazing to see an Embraer on the bigger segment. Their airplanes would be very original. Considering reliability and safety of their airplanes, they would be an incredible option for those who don't trust Boeing anymore or for those who want to receive airplanes sooner (Companies need to wait long years for receiving Airbus and Boeing planes).
I love Embraer jets. Hoping more airlines get the E2s
Embraer could develop a New Mid Size plane, because Airbus and Boeing are doing noting in that market segment it seems.
Well Airbus has some sort of stopgap NMA, in the form of the A321XLR
Won't happen anytime soon, due to new technologies coming up in the next few years. Especially engines.
Thus, a plane designed right now would become obsolete too soon, risking the design being unable to break even.
It's sort of a stalemate right now due to this.
I hope Embraer starts to make huge planes. They really are some of the greatest planes out today. Way more automated than any Airbus or Boeing.
very polite
so when is embarer turboprop coming
Nice vid
Embraer should market to Indonesia. Indonesia has thousands of islands and people often use aeroplane for their transport. If they really want to have focus on regional flight, Indinesia is the one. There's one company called Susi Air and it's one of the famous regional airlines and they use Cessna! Time for them to change to Embraer
I wouldn't be surprised if Embraer in a medium period would try to manufacture some new aircraft out of the regional class.
It's a bummer we can't get the e2 in the USA...
Bombardier showed what Icarus was about. It would be surprising for Embraer to fly into a similar issue.
Hey Coby, are you going to the Singapore Airshow this weekend?
Yes
An Embraer compeitor with the A321/757/MAX10 pls
Embraer is the best.
Embraer needs to make a wide body
Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, if Embraer wants the E3 to succeed, they will do what needs to be done, and choose GE instead of P&W (or RR).
Pilots will not be budging on scope any time soon. Majors would have no problem staffing Embrears at the mainlines though.
Why didn’t he ask about competition with the A220?
Embraer is another category aircraft, how come it can compete with 787 or 777x?
Interview Boeing next
Or Airbus
Embrear needs to go after the 737 market. Make a competing jet.
Embraer will beat boeiing to be #2
EMB needs to go at boeing with a larger plane
For Embraer to survive, it should not compete with Boeing 737 or Airbus 320. E2-195 is an excellent regional airliner and should stay that way. Never go beyond 140 seats (B737-7 2-class) A220-300 is in just a different market with longer range. Stick to the regional and business jet market. Be a king of airliners below 150 seats mark. If else you will meet fate of Bombardier.
It's the bread and butter market.
The orders existing show clearly that there is space for three companies. And if Boeing cannot stand the competition they will lock down the US-market with greasy politicians anyways, yelling at other people's competency.
But Embraer can sell so many around the world, it wouldn't really hamper them.
Good point. Embraer is a very pragmatic company. I don't believe they will risk stepping into competing on the longer range/bigger capacity segment.
that E195-E2 is beautiful, very elegant wings
A report released this week by Morgan Stanley consolidates a transformation in the market's view and is sending stocks soaring.
🙌🏽🙌🏽🇯🇲🇭🇹
I hate that Bombardier got stiffed by the US government and had to sell their interest in the C series jet.
Ruppees
It's plucky smaller companies like this that will make flying affordable for everyone. Competition is always good.
It seams like to me that when airbus have aboundand the A318, the A319 is selling fairly poorly and the B737max7 is not yet certified. There is room on the market for a even larger E2 jet.
If you need a smaller aircraft the E2 195 is far superior to the A319 or the max7. Granted yes the A220 is very competitive. But it lack the market headstart the A320 and 737 have.
The fact that the order books for the 195 is full and the 190 have considerably less order, kind of suggest the market want a slightly larger aircraft.
On top of that, A320neo, max and even the A220 series all have basically intercontinental range. They pretty much left the market wide open for a sort/medium range airliner
I'm totally in love with Embreier. Your show is amazing!!!! Just wanted more attention to the E3 at start. Took to long. Got bored. Marketing.... Get it.
in my opinion it does not make sense for embraer to build a larger narrowbody plane. with C919 and MC21 coming to penetrate this market, there will be too many competitors which are able to make aircraft with good quality/cost ratio.
Coby, perhaps you might wear a tie when you interview senior aviation executives.
Nah
@@cobyexplanesCorrect, the tie isn’t important for this…😂
Embraer’s success is relative.
Embraer E2 disadvantage is it's cargo hold is too small for third world countries.
"promosm" 👊
