It’s very telling that at no time did lawyer Alec suggest the police secure the entire property. Instead he invited people over, had their cars park everywhere and had housekeeper clean the house. WTF
But the housekeeper was very smart. She didn’t touch a thing, all clothes laying around on the floors, until after the police had left. I hope he’ll get the punishment of the century but as we all know, he might walk free.

I don't believe that Alex committed these murders to hide his financial wrong doings. I believe that at one time he loved his wife and son....but Maggie had seen a divorce attorney within weeks prior to the murders ( I would love to hear from that attorney as far as Maggie's reasoning) His son was facing a huge trial for manslaughter due to the boat crash. Alex was a narcissist who was able to be in control of his puppets and loved ones all his life. Between the drugs, financial crash, and Paul's upcoming trial and Maggie leaving him....He had lost total control of those surrounding him. He needed to "get rid" of the two who were causing him the most problems. He was controlling, manipulative, and got away with whatever he wanted and needed to do all his life. Learning his peers had uncovered his deceit and the news that his father was on his deathbed, within a few hours of each other, he lost it. At the time this took place, he compartmentalized the events, and saw his wife and son as his Problems and not his loved ones. In his demented mind, he did what he had to do and wiped out his loved ones,, because he needed to get rid of the pain they were causing him. I wish the State would present it in this way. It makes so much sense after getting to know this man through the testimonies.

There are so many common sense details that point directly at Alec. He was THERE. That in and of itself should tell the jury that he was the shooter. And although the defense attorneys want to claim that Alec had no blood on his clothing, actually, there is testimony that says he did have blood on his clothing. If I was on the jury today's testimony alone paints a very clear picture of what kind of soulless creature Alec really is. He has no feeling for anyone but himself. These episodes of crying? Fake. Sheer fakery. He's a narcissist of the first water. This is a deeply flawed human being. I think after this trial is over there should be two more. First a trial that addresses the death of his housekeeper, and the second that addresses the attempted murder of his friend. This man solves problems by killing people. I believe he would go on killing if he's set free.

I would also like to add in what a great job their mom did raising her son. A single mom working all the time is a recipe for disaster when they have kids. I know I am one. She managed to raise a very polite responsible young man whose main concern was to care for his brother who is mentally challenged. What kind of monster would steal from someone like that? He deserves to spend his life in prison just based on the shitty things he did to people who loved and cared for him. Then add in the murders. We know she was very concerned about the 30 million lawsuit. And thus something was quite possible divorce lawyers wise. But it is clear she did not want to leave him as she went to moselle on the 6th and went to visit Alex parents and then she came back on the 7th of june and was clearly not afraid or angry at Alex.
I've been wondering about that since I started following the case too. It was mentioned that it's according to a magazine report. But that just makes it a rumor. There's no proof, and I bet ya if it was proved and solid that she did, the prosecution would have never stopped bringing it up in court, for it would be a huge motive. Their not mentioning it means nobody knows for sure. I really wonder why he killed Maggie? I feel like he killed Paul out of revenge, because Paul was in a way the beginning of the unravelling of all his dirty secrets, lies, thefts and alleged other murders. Paul in Alex's eyes started all his troubles. But why Maggie? And he seemed persistent too on murdering her, according to the testimonies he lured her in particular to kill her, not that she was a coincidental "passerby" or whatever. I also wonder, in the event of Paul's death, which did happen already, does that get Alex off the hook regarding the boat crash case? Or would he still have to pay the entire amount ?? Becaue if it gets him even partially -meaning to pay a lower amount- off the hook then that would be a strong motive as well.
The level of incompetence surrounding this town is astounding. Even the HVAC techs have no clue where to appropriately install a thermostat pad. It's so out of place one would wonder if it was installed behind the witness stand as a joke.
He tried to open Paul's phone so he could delete the sapling tree video which shows him in different clothes. But he couldn't open it. I think he took Maggie's phone to try and open it and establish an alibi and maybe send a message from her phone saying there was a strange man approaching them etc. But again the Dumbo couldn't open her phone so just ended up slinging it in frustration.
I thought the same thing about Paul's phone, because in his initial interview in the truck, he says "I picked it up thinking maybe.." and something else about it, can't remember at the moment. That has always made me wonder if he was thinking to delete something off of Paul's phone
And let's not forget, if it was Alex who got rid of the phone, he would've staged it to add doubt to a possible two shooters. BUT, Alex just isn't as smart as he thinks he is.

Has anyone heard mention from any of the lawyers or witnesses about the dead chicken that the first officer on scene with the camcorder mentioned when he went in the kennel? Because the chicken is mentioned in the video that Paul made to send to his buddy. This to me is a big clue as to sequence of events!
The big guy (witness) that fed dogs everyday mentioned something about one of the dogs getting the rooster during his testimony about the water puddles and hose. I don't think it was very clear. Would need to go over that again. I would not want to be on that jury.
I have NO idea WHO would EVER want to hire this Defense Team to represent them in a murder trial! I am watching this testimony just after Day #14 of the trial finished for the day... so at this point, I've seen HOURS of testimony and cross examination by every member of this defense team and I can only describe them as inept! For a team of older attorneys who should have years of experience, nothing about their cross examinations reflects it. Pathetic!
If it was random shooter or revenge why is Alex still walking around? They would have picked him off with his son and possibly his wife and other son as well. I haven’t heard that his wife was culpable in the boat accident or his embezzlement and cheating of his clients so why shoot her for “revenge”.
Revenge shooter mercilessly kills 2 humans. A careless stupid young man (who still does not deserve death) and his mother who was not engaged in crime as far as we know. But the ruthless killer then lets the wildly barking penned up dogs live that are a security risk while they are fleeing. (if someone comes by and hears the dogs making such a noise ...) Moreover: did the alleged killers drive to the house with their car ? are there security cameras ? if they parked some distance away and had crept onto the property on foot - shutting up the dogs would be even more important. And it would have been easy, they could not run away.
Is it possible that Maggie & Paul had just announced to Alex that they had enough of the Fraud and the pursuing Indictments ; the sad attempted "suicide"debacle; the negative legacy of the deaths (drowning & hit-and-run) that were " associated" with the family and Alex's Opioid Addiction ? WERE Maggie & Paul - planning to "Seperate" from Alex?
Mags had told her sister he was not telling her the truth; she and Paul found a massive stash of pills; the financial crimes were about to be exposed; the boat accident was a 30 million dollar lawsuit & mags was beyon upset; she had hired a divorce attorney so it was all this and probably a lot more.
If Alex was at the house, which was what 1/3 mile away from the kennel- why wouldn't he have heard 7 loud shots ring out in the dark of night. That would wake anyone up & force you to call your wife ASAP. But that didn't happen did it. He only called her 20 min after 8:49 pm when the murders occurred. Showing he was not on the property but on the road to his parent's house far away from there.
I’ve lived in the country, things are quieter there and I could hear gunshots from a mile away. Especially if I was listening for them. I think there is a chance that he was. He may or may not have pulled the trigger himself but damn well knows who did if it wasn’t him.

The smoking gun is the video taken by his son it’s time stamped he lied, and there are three voices on there one of whom is Alec and the other two are dead. I think after around this time, no more messages were opened from Maggie. Phone was locked.
8:49 is when the time cell phones locked... However, it may be reasonable that the murders occurred 5 to 15 min later. The timeline ALSO shows that Maggie's device was locked from 8:11 to 8:31 PM as well. Phone data cannot be relied upon to prove the exact time of death or murders.I AM SURPRISED THE DEFENSE DIDNT ARGUE THAT YET. If the shootings occured after 9: 06 PM, Alex was not there but was on his way to his Mom.

I feel the crime scene was poorly secured the moment the first deputy arrived on scene. As soon as he saw AM standing there within the crime scene he should have moved him away from it. And then he let him invite 5,238 people over to help trample all over it.
Why not set up a screen at the witness stand and a screen for everyone else where someone can point out what ever is needed to be... What a chaotic mess of a courtroom. AND it is messy, cluttered, and too distracting for the jury too.
Why move Maggie’s phone at all? Hm. Maybe they fought over it bc she would call 911 bc Maggie heard gunshots? Maybe that is why she is shot in the hand? If you listened carefully, you would have heard that by the time Hightower went to the crime scene, all the forensics were done because the crime scene tape was down.
I wonder if this defense atty realizes that he's saying because Alex had the passcode he could have deleted items off the phone? Hi. That's a reason why the phone would be missing from the body and found on the road. If Alex did it, he had to get out of there, distance himself from the bodies and then check the phone for what he wanted to delete and then toss it. A stranger wouldn't be able to open it and if they felt it had incriminating evidence, they would destroy it by smashing it or something similar, not just toss it.
Ten hours into watching and listening from my apt in NYC... describing the case to my elderly friends, say this appears to be a Jekyll & Hyde story hugely appearing in real life. My only query might be how much was the consequence of early and ongoing drug addictions. Ideas?
I think the drug addiction is a smoke screen.. no way someone can keep that kind of life together and be addicted for 20 years and you can tell by looking at him I think, he certainly doesn’t have that look about him- the shaking etc is all an act when he remembers to .. I think the family could've gotten other phones. The phones should've had the phones completely examined. The process called " dumped" and more. To have such a horrific double murder and in 24 hrs the crime scene is released seems wrong. Especially such a large estate ; that suggests remoteness because it's a 1700 acres property reportedly. The house all buildings , media, phones and computers should've been sealed and this is not a twenty four hour search. Such vicious merciless murders. Outside agencies help yes. Interview all neighbors . I'm glad LE spoke with the hired help and friends. Most definitely the property sealed immediately.

There are so many common sense details that point directly at Alec. He was THERE. That in and of itself should tell the jury that he was the shooter. And although the defense attorneys want to claim that Alec had no blood on his clothing, actually, there is testimony that says he did have blood on his clothing. If I was on the jury today's testimony alone paints a very clear picture of what kind of soulless creature Alec really is. He has no feeling for anyone but himself. These episodes of crying? Fake. Sheer fakery. He's a narcissist of the first water. This is a deeply flawed human being. I think after this trial is over there should be two more. First a trial that addresses the death of his housekeeper, and the second that addresses the attempted murder of his friend. This man solves problems by killing people. I believe he would go on killing if he's set free.

We know she was very concerned about the 30 million lawsuit. And thus something was quite possible divorce lawyers wise.
But it is clear she did not want to leave him as she went to moselle on the 6th and went to visit Alex parents and then she came back on the 7th of june and was clearly not afraid or angry at Alex.

I also wonder, in the event of Paul's death, which did happen already, does that get Alex off the hook regarding the boat crash case? Or would he still have to pay the entire amount ?? Becaue if it gets him even partially -meaning to pay a lower amount- off the hook then that would be a strong motive as well.

I think he took Maggie's phone to try and open it and establish an alibi and maybe send a message from her phone saying there was a strange man approaching them etc. But again the Dumbo couldn't open her phone so just ended up slinging it in frustration.
I thought the same thing about Paul's phone, because in his initial interview in the truck, he says "I picked it up thinking maybe.." and something else about it, can't remember at the moment. That has always made me wonder if he was thinking to delete something off of Paul's phone

The big guy (witness) that fed dogs everyday mentioned something about one of the dogs getting the rooster during his testimony about the water puddles and hose. I don't think it was very clear. Would need to go over that again. I would not want to be on that jury.
The dog knew something was up just like Maggie did before she got there. The dog was trying to distract Alex and ease the tension maybe.
I have NO idea WHO would EVER want to hire this Defense Team to represent them in a murder trial! I am watching this testimony just after Day #14 of the trial finished for the day... so at this point, I've seen HOURS of testimony and cross examination by every member of this defense team and I can only describe them as inept! For a team of older attorneys who should have years of experience, nothing about their cross examinations reflects it. Pathetic!

Mags had told her sister he was not telling her the truth; she and Paul found a massive stash of pills; the financial crimes were about to be exposed; the boat accident was a 30 million dollar lawsuit & mags was beyon upset; she had hired a divorce attorney so it was all this and probably a lot more.
If Alex was at the house, which was what 1/3 mile away from the kennel- why wouldn't he have heard 7 loud shots ring out in the dark of night. That would wake anyone up & force you to call your wife ASAP. But that didn't happen did it.
He only called her 20 min after 8:49 pm when the murders occurred.
Showing he was not on the property but on the road to his parent's house far away from there.
I’ve lived in the country, things are quieter there and I could hear gunshots from a mile away. Especially if I was listening for them. I think there is a chance that he was. He may or may not have pulled the trigger himself but damn well knows who did if it wasn’t him.

The smoking gun is the video taken by his son it’s time stamped he lied, and there are three voices on there one of whom is Alec and the other two are dead. I think after around this time, no more messages were opened from Maggie. Phone was locked.
8:49 is when the time cell phones locked... However, it may be reasonable that the murders occurred 5 to 15 min later. The timeline ALSO shows that Maggie's device was locked from 8:11 to 8:31 PM as well. Phone data cannot be relied upon to prove the exact time of death or murders.I AM SURPRISED THE DEFENSE DIDNT ARGUE THAT YET. If the shootings occured after 9: 06 PM, Alex was not there but was on his way to his Mom.

If you listened carefully, you would have heard that by the time Hightower went to the crime scene, all the forensics were done because the crime scene tape was down.
I wonder if this defense atty realizes that he's saying because Alex had the passcode he could have deleted items off the phone? Hi. That's a reason why the phone would be missing from the body and found on the road. If Alex did it, he had to get out of there, distance himself from the bodies and then check the phone for what he wanted to delete and then toss it. A stranger wouldn't be able to open it and if they felt it had incriminating evidence, they would destroy it by smashing it or something similar, not just toss it.

I think the drug addiction is a smoke screen.. no way someone can keep that kind of life together and be addicted for 20 years and you can tell by looking at him I think, he certainly doesn’t have that look about him- the shaking etc is all an act when he remembers to .. I can’t think he has a good side- what he did to the housekeepers children says everything…

I think the family could've gotten other phones. The phones should've had the phones completely examined. The process called " dumped" and more. To have such a horrific double murder and in 24 hrs the crime scene is released seems wrong. Especially such a large estate ; that suggests remoteness because it's a 1700 acres property reportedly. The house all buildings , media, phones and computers should've been sealed and this is not a twenty four hour search. Such vicious merciless murders. Outside agencies help yes. Interview all neighbors . I'm glad LE spoke with the hired help and friends. Most definitely the property sealed immediately.
