I've been doing fine with the Air 2S, and am not impressed enough with the 3 to flip them (and spend more). Hopefully they'll come up with an Air 3S sometime soon and make it worth the effort/money to flip.
Great comparison! Glad someone took time to do this. Currently, I’m flying the Air2S and honestly I would probably pick it 9 out of 10 times in the shots you provided. The Air3 definitely has more sharpening in camera, and I really prefer the image the Air2S captures. I think it’s hands down better for photography with a true 20mp image. That being said, the Air3 looks excellent and has a ton of upgrades that make it a very compelling update. When I look to update, I’ll be definitely looking for a significant improvement in quality to justify it, and besides the battery life, this one isn’t for me. Still an awesome drone, though! Based on DJI’s latest pattern, I would expect an Air3 Pro next summer.
@@Aerialpixel_ for sure, DJI has demonstrated they will start a product pattern and then change it up when they see fit. With the Mini 3/3 Pro, Mavic 3 Classic/3 Pro, and now the Air 3, a pro model makes sense but no guarantee for sure. I’m leaning toward the Mavic 3 Pro (or whatever else DJI decides to release in that class) for my next model. One thing for sure, DJI keeps us guessing!
I just lost my Air 2S yesterday because of heavy wind in ocean and ordered the Air 3, the Air 2S being bigger sensor I feel the video looks softer and handles the dynamic range well between high exposure parts and low exposure parts, the highlights and sharpness in Air 3 doesn’t look great compared to Air 2S in my opinion. Specially, when sunlight is more, the highlights in Air 3 looks overexposed vs Air 2S.
Great video. Air 3 seems so artificially sharpened to give the impression of detail. Every feature but the cameras are outstnaing on the air 3. I'd opt for the mavic 3 classic, or wait for an air 3 pro next year (fingers crossed). Thanks!
I bit late here but I don't understand how people prefer or see the footage the same in daytime of the Air 3 vs the 2S as the 2S clearly has MUCH more detail, you can really see it at 4:04, just look at the trees and the dark beach area on the right, the Air 2S is clearly better, I don't understand how you could say otherwise
air2s 5.4 mode is just purely better. - not a deciding factor thou. tele lens for air3 is a blast. I think it all depends on the needs. Anyway when to the sensor goes I always say.. bigger is (99% of the time) beter
Conclusions are quite simple. Air3 footage is more pleasant while Air2s is more detailed if looking at the videos with magnifying lens. So, for common humans Air 3, Air2s for Sherlock…

Wide angle is Air 2S is this so simple. Better dinamic wide range. More dinamic in frame.
I don’t know about the Air 3 pro. I wouldn’t count on it.

I’m not sold on the camera on the air 3 compared to the air 2s during bright light, definitely better with its night mode though.
They are both great drones. A lot of people with the Air 2S will not require the Air 3 🚀

As with the Mini 4 Pro, current lack of compatibility with the RC Pro will keeps folks from upgrading to Air 3.

Yeah, this is a close comparison. I personally prefer the 70mm lens on the Air 3 but the 1” sensor on the Air 2S is still king.
