- Earlier this month, we headed down to Tennessee and North Carolina to drive some real winding roads in a 2013 Scion FR-S. In this video, we do a walk around of the FR-S, show you what we were able to fit in the trunk, and take you on some of the best driving roads we could find on the way down to The Dragon.
For the best video experience, we recommend wearing a good set of headphones. The audio in this video was recorded with binaural microphones that, when played back through headphones, give the feel of 3D sound. Trick stuff.

I just bought an FR-S, Pearl White, Monogram model. I haven't been out to ride it like this yet, but plan on doing so many times. While at work in the dark at a TV station, I'm kept happy by your video!
Nice downshifts, BTW. I've gotten out of practice after 15 yrs in automatic cars. I did pretty well in my Ghia, VWs and RX-7s, so I'm sure I can get back up to speed.

Great look at the CRS. I keep seeing them around here and wondered what they looked like inside as well as how they drove. They seem to offer a quiet ride at freeway speeds without a lot of road noise. It's hard to tell how torquey they are and how they do when passing or when you hit the pedal and want immediate speed.

What a car... I love my one as well. In Germany we have a spoiler on the back end an other things different (like LED daylight)

Put on some Yoshihara 18x8 rims and some Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and I bet you this car's performance would increase dramatically. The stock Michelin Primacy tires on this car are designed for drifting and low rolling resistance.

Why do you do the brake/gas heel toe? Just put the brake on and rev gas only.
If I owned one of these cars, the first thing I would do is either have Vortech V3 Si intercooled supercharger installed with a smaller s/c pulley, or I'd go with a dual scroll turbocharger... I'd probably go with the centrifugal supercharger do to the high redline this car can be shifted at. Most turbo's die after 5500-6000 rpm. 5000 rpm and higher is where a centrifugal s/c starts to shine. Plus there wouldn't be a boatload of torque directly off the line, so you wouldn't be burning rubber as easily as you would with a turbo. Either choice would be awesome in this car though. Just my opinion.
Have you even been in it? the whole car is different and way better in person than on camera.
did you use a GoPro to record this? if so how did you strap it to you head? Im about to move to colorado near the mountains and I would like to try what you did for my brother.

It's a spitting image of a BRZ and has a boxer engine, but I thought Scion was a division of Toyota not Subaru. WHAT'S GOING ON!? :O
I'm seriously thinking about buying a 2014 base model Chevy Camaro instead. It provides more power. The downside is that the FR-S would destroy me in the corners...lmao

Jesus all you people complaining about power power need a dosage of reality check the concept of the car in first place is fun to drive not power. Besides with all the traffic we get in major cities now your gas wallet will thank you.
99.5% of people could not take 100% advantage of 200 horsepower in the Fr-s let alone anything more. It's more for bragging rights and getting off on having more than what you need than anything else.

0-60 in 7.5 seconds. That’s slow for a sports car but plenty quick for it to be not dangerous.

That has nothing to do with what I asked. He's doing it while parked. So I can touch both pedals with my shoe, big deal. One is stop and the other go...it doesn't work that way.

yes it's a looker and has great balance and handling but it severely lacks in power and become boring as hell after a year or so.... i heard sales have gone down significantly and some people i know are selling it to get into other cars also brand new GTI or Mustang 4 cylinder turbo cost about the same so guess sales is going to continue to drop.
Stick with your Ford KA.

The 370z is also insured as a sports car and not an economic class vehicle.
