    Oh my god. I just figured out what Melvins new lineup should be since they haven’t done anything with Big Business for years now.

    I was there - All Tomorrows Parties UK - December 2008 - the best fucking Rock festival anybody there had been in their lifetime.
    Fantomas, ISIS, Mastodon, Melvins, Torche, Mark Lanegan, Dalek....... can't remember all of the insane lineup.
    My first Mastodon concert. Bill was sick for that tour so they played as a trio.

      Buzz and I agree that ISIS breaking up was so disappointing. They had so much more to give.

    • @magusking9215
      @magusking9215 Год назад

      @@Neenerella333 Well I wish they would have, but when they announced the split it wasn't very surprising.
      And upon first hearing Wavering Radiant I immediately felt a comparison to this other band Vision of Disorder,
      in terms of a sudden change in Production approach that was probably not endorsed by all the members. I know they had strong disagreements in the band and Aaron Turner wasn't into it anymore I believe.
      While I personally love Wavering Radiant, I think it was pretty divisive for a lot of earlier fans.
      If we could get more Palms records though it would almost make up for it.
      When it comes to Isis, they'd have to change the name and keep the "Celestial' moniker they used for the Caleb Scofield Tribute, but Aaron Turner I just too busy with his many other endeavors and family life in Seattle : pretty far from the other guys.

    was at this Butlins ATP - they soundchecked this together before playing it as a surprise, we'd snuck into the soundcheck so got to hear/see it played to about 10 people - an intimate audience if you will. IF YOU WERE THE PERSON I STOLE A WHOLE BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA OFF BEFOREHAND, I APOLOGISE.

    Genuinely trying to remember, I remember Fantomas, Mastodon, Butthole Surfers & Melvins played both days(right?) And I remember talking about Mastodon afterwards playing on a stage the size of the local Dun Mhuire where I grew up, and CERTAIN I would have remembered them as a 3 piece! Did Bill play one of those 2 days and then miss the other? Still missed Jared from here too, but seeing this with the 3 drum piece, god what a sound

    Look right at the beginning, and listen...Buzz is just about to plug in the cable going from his guitar ... we instantly hear a very fine tuned and properly setup up les paul, combined with equally fine tuned hands, and if you know anything guitar you can pick up un that. hes not even playing anything just striking the strings to the open drop D to produce something, like im plugged in correctly, yes ... that you hear is also the works of someone that can fiddle the knobs on amps and knows what he wants and how to get it, and also on melvins team is their live soundguy at that back of the room in a control booth, at least at soundcheck, but i think he´s live adjusting. have realized he is VERY much similliar to, dont fill your briefs now, Angus Young ... badassery when it comes to dynamics, can play very soft touch but very fast if wants to, and dig harder than pretty much anyone i think, with his .38 and .50something VERY thin picks. remember angus use 1.63 vintage fender picks, made of like shellac or bakelite or something, not flexing anywhere nere those thin picks ... and ive seen every video of melvins on youtube, he has never snapped a string as far is i know...shoulder straps twice though..i dont even know how that works, but crap strap, or crap ankering to the wood, ive been amazed that nothing else broke during some live shows..especially maggot era with rutmanis on bass. it´s about as close to too trashing the guitar but you actually play and it doesnt sound like it´s bouncing down stairs....and it´s very acurate he lies right on the edge, all players come to realization, knowing that hitting hard has a limit, to hard and it chokes and you get a weaker lower response from the guitar ... if you get it right and master it you are there and people will speak of "your tone" like they know shit, but they like it, but cant do it, the tone they talk about they can´t really define what they mean but they at least end up at something in the hands or fingers ... close but far?!? angus and malcolm of course mastered the close to choke limit and also the exact same with marshall amps, and more important speakers, greenbacks of course...G12H of course ... guess who at least used g12H for 20 years, even in totaly different cabs, HIGHWATTS for example...try the let there be rock tour concert from france, acdc live wire, first song and listen to how speaker distorsion is superimportant, i dont want to credit the amps too much, they got enough of that, not even marshall care, they sell vintage classics under the same name, but ooopsie, changed one ef the transformers from the classic, that always been used to a cheapo made in taiwan, the example i refer to is new jcm 800, and they come with free EXTRA idleing buzzing and just a constant note in a register easy to hear. like, beeeeeeeeeeeeeep clear as anything to anyone to hear. nope, speakers and CABS are superimportant, those hiwatt cabs where chosen for a reason, military spec and killer of backs for shure, with g12H ... H = the big magnet, oooof

    King buzz or whatever his name is , through them off when he decided to add an extra 5 seconds of chords which I'm assuming the other guitarist didn't practice so he just kept on singing. That's actually a huge dick move for musicians. Makes them look really bad.
    I've heard some really bad things about the Melvin's.
