Have had mine for a week now. Was surprised at how little recoil there is. Much less than my old 941 revolver from years ago. Very happy with purchase.
I bought one of these recently. I put a holosun 507c on it. The screws they provide are a little long so I had to shorten them a little. Easy enough to do with a file. The slide release was a little sticky. A little TLC and breaking in did the trick. It's just as easy to give a tug on the slide to release the slide. The button mag release is also a little difficult. But the paddles work like a dream and I prefer them anyway. I have only seen a few holsters made for this. But I expect that will change soon enough, this being a new gun and all. I am very happy with it.
That’s one sexy pistol right there. The reemergence of the 22 mag suits me fine seeing as I just acquired one. Update, I have to laugh every time I fire this thing with a huge fireball, stunning accuracy and impressive muzzle velocity, it’s a hot little round. I wonder how good the stopping power is ? I always let at least 2-3 go in quick succession anyway so IDK ? 👍🇺🇸
WMP is in fact an Umarex-made product and features the Three Crowns roll mark of the Cologne proof agency for Arnsberg where Umarex makes their guns. If it were produced by Walther proper, it would feature the Stag or Antler roll mark indicating it was produced in Ulm.
I've been drooling over this since I first saw it a couple weeks ago. Gonna go see if the store I saw it in last week still has it. The ambi paddle mag release has me sold since I have joint impairment in my thumb and I am a lefty.
I'm with ya' Steve. My hands are wrecked from 50 years of abuse + Arthritis surgery ( that wasn't all that successful) AND I'm "wrong handed!"😁To make matters even worse, my hands are about the size of your average teenage young Lady!😲 Really liking the PDP PRO but there's none to handle in my area. I'll keep this animal in mind too.
@@charlesbeall2589 I was able to get the WMP and it is sweet. The paddle mag release is a great feature for me. I added a Holosun/Primary Arms ACSS Vulcan Green dot to top it off. Still looking for a holster.
I bought this gun just after it's release, I agree that Walther makes very affordable pistols in higher calibers but, i have a bizarre love for the .22wmr round. This thing is fun, accurate, and according to the guys at Walther headed for a long life of upgrades starting with a threaded barrel so, suppressors in the future if you're into that. The only real issue i have with the gun is the same issue i have with the Rock Island XT Pro, no real holsters fit the gun. Though I have found a modular holster that apparently fits anything with an underbarrel rail so that's a little better. I have been reading WMP reviews all afternoon, and YOURS IS THE BEST! You have covered more details than anyone. Thank you!..................................elsullo
I have had my WMP 3 months and have fed it CCI 40gr & 50gr. Armscor 40gr and Aquila 40gr. with no problems. Have not tried CCI 30gr. but seen many reviews now that shows it works very well.
I recently bought one of these and loved the look and feel of it. Took it to the range and had several ftf issues with it. Very surprised because I know Walther makes great products. I contacted Walther and sent it back to them. I’m sure they will take care of it.
@@847lifestyle I have not heard anything other than they were going to replace the barrel and it was 4-6 weeks out. I will email them tomorrow and get an eta for it’s return, hopefully.
I just picked up one of these and sent 100 critical defense downrange. Awesome sights, great ergonomics, but the trigger reset blows. I wish it had a trigger like my Taurus TX22.
Bought one about 3.5 weeks ago. Great pistol! Just wish it had a manual safety and plate for the deltapoint pro. Fits great in my xl glove size hands. Bought a venom for $159 from PSA during their Father’s Day. It that was defective out of the box so waiting for my replacement. It will be mainly used as a small game pistol.
Great review, were thinking purchasing this pistol. Did you ever do a rande review on this pistol ? I was unable to locate it if you did. Thank you again 🙏
I love Walther pistols have all their PPQ m2, m1, and .45acp. however as much as this gun intrigues me, I already have the FN 57 and Ruger 57 which is way more powerful than 22magnum.
Love It! I' vê got a 9 rounds Taurus Revólver in .22 MAG e also a .22 Magnum Rifle made by CBC/Taurus. But things had gone south for gun oweners in Brazil since the left políticians get back in office this January, 1st.
Looks cool; however, it is definitely an Umarex product. Proof house symbol is for Cologne proof house. Typical Walther P99, PPQ, PDP, PPS have the antler which is Ulm proof house.
Would you happen to know if 2 screws are holding that piece in on the barrel. Mine seemed to have fell off the barrel. I see 2 holes but nothing holding them in place
Amt 22mag was and is a jamamatic and nothing more and it doesn't matter what you feed it and believe me I gave them plenty of chances because they are a beautiful well made gun, just problematic!
Keep it. Its not a single six but it beats the other wannabe flooding the market. They won't give you much. You deserve another anyway , might regret getting rid of it.
I would guess that's coming. But knowing how finnicky .22 WMR is in a semi auto, it might not run reliably with the added back pressure from a suppressor
BINGO !! why ppl want to shoot 22wmr suppressed is beyond me .u may as well just throw 22lrs n get more bang for ur buck vs overpaying on wmr subs to effectively shoot 22lr
Yes exactly. The port cuts look stupid not cool and just make it more likely the gun jams if debris gets in there. Just make it look like the original ppq and cut steel from the inside of the slide
Yup same here as well as the Roger..plus throw in 5.7vis way more expensive per box than 22wmr...wmr is more widely available..22wmr makes great practice time for 5.7 lol
@@kevinchavey8289 You're absolutely clueless. You can go to tons of videos here on RUclips & see I'm telling the truth. It absolutely is double & in some cases, it's over double. You can get 400 ft/lbs in a handgun & 600+ ft/lbs in a carbine with 5.7x28. With . 22 Mag, you're hoping for 150 ft/lbs in a handgun, 250 ft/lbs in a carbine & 300 ft/lbs in a long barrel rifle. Now if they make all their 9mm guns with that mag release and the F type size grip in subcompact that can also use full-size magazines, and add a 22LR version. Yeah, keep dreaming. At least they aren’t HK and you don’t suck.
Glock does not make a 22 magnum only 22lr . I am 56 years old and Walther has finally seemed to do what no other manufacturer has been able to and that is creating a 22 magnum pistol that you can rely on. I have owned them all and unless it was a wheel gun you just couldn't get thru a magazine without multiple malfunctions!
I want this gun more than any new gun in the last few years.
Normally, I would agree.
However, the Walther PDP-F series 4",...EXISTS.
Same

I just picked one of these up this past weekend and took it out for a test run. Zero complaints.
The .22 mag is quite possibly the most efficient little caliber around, for the size it punches above its weight class.
Just saw a Clint Eastwood movie. I'll take your evaluation as Top Notch, coming from Clint Eastwood's Cousin!
Love love love my WMP, companion to my CZ 457 Lux .22magnum rifle.
nice pair . love the maggie. own(ed) a bunch. glad I had plenty of ammo.

would like to this in a smaller version like 3-3.5in barrel (compare to S&W MP2.0) for EDC, but Walther=Quality!
Love your Walther reviews. Still rocking the PPQ 5 inch and P22 5 inch, love the paddles.

Maybe Taurus will make one too.
I bought a Kel-Tec 22 wmr, spent a ton upgrading it and still a POS. Traded in for a 22 wmr Revolver 6 shot.
Love mine, great fun, amazingly accurate.
Great job on your review and I have been considering a 22MAG either the Walthers or a Smith and Wesson M&P WMR. Which would you recommend?

Fun pistol. Would love that.
Got mine for $425. It is really fun to shoot. I do shootoffs with it against my PMR30.

I would love for walther to make a 16" carbine that uses the same magazine as the wmp.
Can you please do a head to head with this and the new S&W .22 WMR? Enjoy your work.

It means Fire and Noise Joy. Accurate Too !

Why not carry 9mm in a smaller Walther PDP-F series platform?
Same capacity, stronger impact, smaller footprint.
My understanding is that Umarx(the air gun people) actually produces the gun, not Walther.
Two years later, and I am seeing these available for $400 to $460 now.
I am getting one soon 👍🏻

Redundance magazine released nice. Never though that Walter would make a pistol in this caliber. Umm
Ive never fired a 22 mag believe it or not but how loud is it really? How loud is it compared to like a 380 or a 9mm?
Is it "Wal-ther" with a TH sound as in "there", or "wal-ter" with a hard T sound as in "later"?
oh Walther,where is G22 in .22magnum????
Just say this in the store. Hard not to love it.
Would you happen to know if 2 screws are holding that piece in on the barrel. Mine seemed to have fell off the barrel. I see 2 holes but nothing holding them in place

Any ideas when this pistol will be released on Australia
AMT 22mag back.in the 80s

Agreed mine was horrid n shortest tenure in my collection lol
I tell myself--too expensive; then I justify with 22wmr being cheaper
I might be interested in trading my Wrangler for this

yea, no its not made by Walther, its made by the replica company, UMAREX. I have the P22 and its a UMAREX cheap 22 too.
