i ran a 2ohm version wired to like .5 ohm and that little joker ran 4 12’s for a year before i finally just bought a 5k toughest little amp i ever had.
@@Dominivacanoit stopped because it went into protection mode. The dude literally explained those amp don’t like dyno test. And that it will be fine on subs.
Thanks for this test. Really appreciate it. The bass version that I bought worked ok. The only issue I was having is that I'd have to raise the gain to max to get some punch in the bass. It's extremely efficient for the power it gives but another thing is I don't know why taramps doesn't put in bass knobs that's all their missing. Thanks again 👍
Because most of the included Bassknobs are terrible anyway. Just get a decent RCA Bassknob and be done with it. My Skar and Recoil bassknobs both started making dirty static noise within a few months.
I run mine at 14.6 volts, I kick the crap out of it daily and it doesn't even get warm. Others have dynoed these at 1300-1400RMS with less than 1%THD, 1450-1600rms uncertified to clipping.
I have two of these amps, one in each car. Both are the 2ohm versions pushing 10" Skar DVR 600 watts RMS subs running at the full speaker voltage (48.9V) and never had the amp go into protect. Maybe the 2ohm version is more stable...?!
These are rated 1200w @12.6v. I don't think these are made for a cars voltage if 14.4v. I have one in my house running, (2) 10 inch, (2) 8 inch, and (2) 6.5 inch subwoofers. And it performs flawlessly. Maybe try running the dyno again @ 12.6v, and see if it still goes inch protect mode? I really think that these are made to be run on DC power supplies. The 1200 watts that these say that they are, are listed on the side of the box @12.6v.
@@supremetoonz3430 no problem. That's a lot of power! I like the 1,000 range. I just got a couple Rockford Fosgate p3s. They're rated for 600 each so I'm sending around 12-1300. If you want them extremely loud you can also get a ported box for them instead of a sealed box. Ported boxes aren't as good for fast bass like metal music but for hip hop it can hit really hard.
@@stereomojo I’m not sure if I have left a comment here or not. I have two 4ohm DVC subs. Found a killer deal for the 1ohm version MD3000.1. I know I CAN wire the subs down to 1ohm but is it fine to do so is my question

So pretty much it's a underrated amp, cool will definitely consider this as an option
Underrated? It claims 1200 watts and only hit 1070 @14.4v unless I’m missing something seems overrated

Would the md1200 perform better at a lower 12.6 VDC as listed in the Technical Specs per Taramps ? I'm enjoying your content.
I never tried that, but I’m wondering that myself. Thanks for the comment and the support!

Sony JBL Kenwood Car Amplifiers How Many Amps Transformer Should I Supply For Home Use?
What was the RCA voltage? I know the MD series do very well with 1.8-1.9 RCA voltage in my setup.
I tried from .5 to 4.0 off camera. It acted the same way at all voltages
@@stereomojo Thanks for the test. Appreciate you taking your time to make this video 👍🏽
Just curious if you tried running this amp with any overlap??
great amp... I have it in my car.. however as you can see on the video.. the one thing I hate is the noisy fan.
Mine runs great in my car @13.5 volts
Herd these amps needs to see 1.8-2.0 volts on rca input.
I tried that with no difference
I’m having a similar problem only is not on a dyno it’s going into protect 😢
Same, you ever find a solution?
Can I run 2. 1500 watts kickers on 1800 watts taramp?
you would want a 3k
Yeah don't do that. If your subs are 1500 RMS per speaker then you'd want an amp that does around 3000 rms

should i go for the 1ohm version or 2?
@@alfiekennett-ju8eu it depends on what ohm loads your subs are. Do you know that?

@ yes, you’ll be just fine. A resistive load is much harder on an amp than a reactive load. Subwoofers are reactive, so you’ll be fine. Good luck!
I have one when ever I turn up the volume the amp lock down
That stinks. Is it a 1 ohm model, that’s wired to 1 ohm?
