Back in the 90's having 200-400 watt amp on your sub(s) was the norm for most daily drivers. When power got cheaper is when people started getting power crazy.
Bruh, I did hair tricks on 4 15in kicker gold letters on 2 kenwood 921 in an oversiced box, it was much bigger than the quad box they make, but with a 15in mtx bluthunder box with 4 5in midranges 2 15in woofers and two horn tweeters and that was on an sherwoo bp 240, with 120 Watts going to each channel( needed no hi passfilter for this box) in saying all this to say, these kids have it easy
@@vetodez783 we thought it was a deal, but to be honest, 1000 Watts of class d, is far from a 1k Watts of a/b. Forget the efficiency of class d, but 500 Watts of a/b sounds so much better than 1k of d( in my opinion)

This is why i always tell people u dont need 2k on a sub just because it can handle it.we used to run a fosgate punch 200 on 4 15s back in the day.not everybody trying to float stuff with their subs🤦🏾♂️😁
I ran a Punch 45 on a pair of Kicker Competition 15s back in the day. Also had a couple of JL Audio 12w1 subs running on a HiFonics Cupid. Back in the day there weren’t any 5k amps.
Really wish you metered the setup in this video as well as ran the SMD AMM-1 to see the ohm loads/ power put to the subs. Other than that this was a great video!
Yo you should review the DS18 ZXI12.4D I was looking at and it looks like it plays crazy low but it looks and the specs seems similar to the audiopipe bdc4 🤔🤔
Nothing like taramps for bass! I think I'll be switching out my trinity tas8000.1 for a smart 5 soon enough. Just kinda hoping they come up with a smart 5bass that has that normal bass knob that the smart 8 has soon
@@ParkerTheBasshead actually, I wired the 2 12s at .5 off that trinity 8k & it's absolutely pounding all day no issues at all so I guess I wont need the smart 5 or 8 yet which is good cause there's only about an inch or 2' max to jam a longer amp in there & that trinity 8k is barely a foot long so let's see if it holds up...320amp alt & 2 d4s 6.0 lithiums at the base of the amp probably helping it not go into protect or maybe the rise is always well above 1ohm I guess
Here is some information about Custom Speaker Pods. I recently spent a decent amount of money on some dual 6.5s and 3.5 tweeter pods for my Supercrew F150. I received them in a timely manner, which I was pleased with. Now it's time to install them, so I removed everything from the box, and the 1st thing I noticed was that the cutouts weren't clean. What I mean is the holes had jagged cuts around the holes, but luckily, that's covered up with the speakers when installed. I also believe that if someone is spending $200 a pair, there should be clean cuts all around. What do you think? The next issue was that the 3.5 cutouts were supposed to be 3.76, but they weren't correct. When I measured the cutouts hole, it was way smaller, and I needed to install these by Sunday, in which I started this on Friday morning. So now I'm past and I grabbed the phone to call customer service about this matter. Keep in mind that I purchased these to save me time so I wouldn't have to make any Pods myself. Ok, so now I don't get any answer from the call, so I will try their customer chat service, and finally, after about 30 minutes, I finally get someone (Paige). She stated that I could just open up the holes with a file, sand paper, or some other kinda cutting tool. I could also send them back, and they could fix them and then send those back, but this wouldn't be a quick turnaround, and like I said, I needed to get this finished by Monday morning. I, in turn, told her this was BS, and the whole reason I purchased these was so I wouldn't have to make anything, and I could just get these and install them. But now I'm having to correct there screw up then I could install them. I was expecting them to offer some kind of funds returned back to me or at least a great coupon code for a future purchase, but she didn't offer anything. So anytime I see someone promoting Custom Speaker Pods, I try to inform or at least post my experience with them. In my opinion, if you're gonna have to end up correcting the product that was purchased, you may as well just make something yourself. It's gonna be cheaper. I hope this helps someone!
Since I seen this video I got this for my son , pushes 2 kicker 12’s. Just fine for a little bass. Not competition or anything crazy. Just a feel good sound for his first system. Maybe he will want to go competitive with his own build. 😁.
Those are 3k rms correct? Safe to say we haven't seen there full potential yet? Do you know the size of there motor structure? 300 oz maybe? Thanks man great video
Hey Parker could you do a review on the concrete audio c4 12s if you can get your hands on one? It’s one crazy sub would like to see what you think about them
I was thinkin, before the end of the vid, send it out to BigD to get a solid dyno on it. Then I reached the ending...lol. Good luck to whomever wins it if it is a giveaway :)
I doubt this comment will be seen but id LOVE IT if you could review and test the rockford fosgate P1S4 15. VERY low wattage subwoofer and definitely budget, but very good for what it is MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD BOX THOUGH, i just upgraded from that to a kicker q series 10 inch lol, going for SQL over SPL, and dont think im ever leaving the SQL gang lolol

By the time i buy the DSP and mids and tweeters and wiring and blocks & another battery and a smaller amp for that im already going to have a lot in this so i need to stay under 600 for the amp and subs. Thanks brother for any advice you can share with me. have a great day .

More about sensitivity of speaker. Look at size of the magnets nowsdays too. Takes alot more to get it to travel its full extention
@knikkaknikk86 yes some speakers are more efficient then others but o e doesn't have to run beaucoup power on a sub just because it can handle it.
i currently have a taramps 400x4 amp powering my speakers and my 2 12s and it does it like a champ
That's Great.
But your amplifier does not get too hot with you set up ?
Punch 150 and Punch 12s back-in-the-day was all you needed. Sounded pretty good in my 86 Cutlass

In the 90s fosgate had a van with 18" Punch and one punch 30 per two subs. Six in total
And that thing hit loud and low
I think it's also having a box custom built for your subs/system. Can't say enough about custom enclosures making a system great!

Taking the bass 3k and hooking it up to 2 600 watt rms 15s would be to much power but would a signal processor help to not blow them?
This amp would be awesome in a classic car or muscle car where it could easily be hidden.
So why are you running the Marts full bridge instead of the Deaf Bonce half bridge amp they sent you with them subs?
Did a review on the Marts a few weeks ago and no reason to but the 20k back in yet since I have other amps to review
