A bit late to answer but in fact, it depends even in France. I saw them twice in 2016 and they played the french version the first show and the english one for the other.

Belgium was mostly dutch. Been fighting over it for many years. 50/50 dutch/french now. I think he partly grew up in Luxemburg. Hence, luxemburgerqueen.

Hello ils étaient en tournée y a 1 mois encore je suis allé les voir à Bercy le 11.
Malheureusement pas un mot de brian, pas de bonjour pas de au revoir juste un salut de la main en se baissant à la fin et un enchaînement de musique avec une fosse inerte de bout en bout sauf pour Bitter end.
Faut savoir que Brian n'a joué que 2 ou 3 anciens morceaux car martele uniquement son nouvel album.
Je crois savoir que la il a annulé le reste de sa tournée du a une maladie pour sa voix.
Lui souhaitant un bon rétablissement.
Les fans ont été très très déçu du manque de relation avec nous son public
Brian Molko est un mec très sympa , je l'ai rencontré dans un pub de Luxembourg City , il m'a offert un gin tonic , c'est quelqu'un d'abordable et il maîtrise la langue française , j'ai discuté avec lui comme si c'était un pote de toujours ;)

If I remember correctly, he started learning French when he was age six, because he grew up with French media due to where he lived during the majority of his adolescence. I think I recall an interview 3-4 years ago where he stated that his Father converses with him in French, mainly.
Either way, I'm still hopelessly jealous that he seems to be so good at learning other languages; It doesn't come so easy to me. 😂😂
