I remember this so well. I was 12 years old and first discovered Placebo with this song on Top of the pops. Followed by it being played as background music in a scene in Eastenders and much later on with this Jonathan Ross interview all on the same night. ❤ I became a placebo fan overnight and never looked back. Im 33 now and absolutely love them to bits ❤
I burned through soo many batteries listening to Placebo on my Sony Disc Walkman, commuting to college back in the early 00s. 🤙🏻 Such an underrated band.
I know what you mean rock/metal bands always sound great on these chat shows. Not a big fan but Slipknot playing the heretic anthem live on Conan is fantastic.
I've known of Placebo for years, but only in the last few months have really got into them. This live performance is so perfect it could almost be a studio record.
They were only a three piece live for their first album cycle. From Without You I'm Nothing, they had session guys playing live with them. You just couldn't see them until the Meds tour. On record, however, barring things like strings of brass, it was only ever the core members.
There is no more fascinating person than Brian Molko. If you look at him you will never be able to take your eyes off him. This has been happening from day one until today. Maybe he's not human. One of the most beautiful voices in the world. The band with the most incredible and majestic music there is. Real artists creating ingenious music and blazing a trail. Their frailties and their behaviors make them even higher.
Lost track of them after the without you im nothing tour. Good to see they're still going! I realise this is 3 years old but How's he still look so young?

Yeah, Hewitt was badass. Never really liked the next dude. It felt like they'd swapped Jimmy Chamberlain or Matt Cameron for, say, Tommy Lee. The new Steve could keep time, but he was much less deft and subtly groove based. It was a pity.
Can anyone help me to find the correct lyrics for the last part of the song ??? I found lots of versions, but still don’t know which is the right one 😭
Placebo are one of the best bands out there. His voice is out of this world.
To me, Placebo is a great band more for the music than for Molko´s voice
Brian has one of the best live voices ever. Oh how we took beautiful music for granted back then...
Their cover of running up that hill has been in rotation on my play list for years. One of the best cover songs I’ve ever heard.
One of the most endearing voices ever.
They’re still touring

Same timeline here!

Placebo helped me through my teenage years where I wasnt sure of myself.
Brian is an absolute king/queen/whatever he wants to be
Same here! A confused teen and young 20, that eventually sold out to the corporate ladder.
Same here ! I thought tge questions and the way Ross dealt with Brian was more "of its time" than any of placebos art
Poof?
Brian is a brilliant amazing love the song running up that hill and too many friends
U are a superstar when ur live sound sounds better than the studio mix! Chapeau Placebo
Totally agree - best live band I've ever seen
Ughhh the whole band sounds incredible in this set 💜
Apart from the rythum guitarist in the final verse
Molko has such an incredible voice.

Very cool 😎 handsome Brian ❤
First song I ever heard by Placebo. I still remember the day, wandering around in a HMV store. Been in love since. 17 years+.
just love the rawness of this recording
Brian is a brilliant singer and they are an amazing band x❤
Brian is a brilliant singer and they are an amazing band live is so much better he's amazing
I always get goosebumps from the finisher of this song ...
I wish all their songs were guitar-heavy as this one. Love the 2 guitars coming in
I insist...... I love your precious smile Brian .... 😘
Wow they sounded amazing on this performance.
What a solid band! I loved it even more back in the day with Steve Hewitt as drummer.
big mistake to let him go...downwards from there.
@@bepitan i agree. They never hit as hard after that.
@@bepitan Their new album is decent
Their new album is good. But they were better as a 3 piece with Steve Hewitt. Loved that era.

Yesssss
What a great performance, I still love this song so much.
2022 track has more meaning after everything everyone’s been through
they are a class act until the bitter end
Seeing Molko's reaction when he said he mistook them for Manic Street Preachers...Priceless.
Yeah. But he misstok brian to be richey edwards 🤣😅😂 that guy went lost in 95🙈😂
I can't get enough of this song.
The keyboard player must be exhausted after his incredible performance.
Rumour has it that he did it all with one hand 🤯

Brian Molko es tremendo en el escenario, me arrancó tremendo suspiro!

I own that drum kit now :)
Really?
Didn’t like the Richie Manic reference
Very poor taste
Agreed. Even back then it was a really inappropriate joke to make. A presenter would never dream of making a comment like that now.
This video is from 2003, not 2021. Love them but guitar tuning so weird I've never tried to play their songs.
