Please consider checking out the documentary that Ninja Theory made documenting their journey creating this masterpiece of a game:

I am lost for words about not only your research of the games development, but the well thought out process and depiction of a serious mental condition by the developers. Huge respect to you and the game devs, brilliant game and video!

I was lucky enough to have been following Ninja Theory's story for a while now and they have been documenting every step of the way during their journey. There is still so much to uncover from the design of the game and I tried to do my best to use their works and my experience playing to come up with a cohesive video showcasing the reason why this game is one I think flew under too many radars.

You know, normally I just try to pop in with a upbeat comment and pop out again. There is a lot about this game I could discuss, but ultimately it's not all my story to tell, and not something that belongs on a public forum. I guess all I can really say is, thank you for trying to bring attention to it.

I appreciate the thanks. I was in awe of the game when I gave it a chance and I saw just how few people knew about its existence. Now I'm fully aware that this game has some missing aspects and there's bits and pieces that may be inaccurate, but just the sheer amount of work that Ninja Theory put into making sure they could provide as authentic of an experience as possible while also making it a joy to play is just astounding. While this series won't always be full of emotion, I felt like this was the perfect game to cover as the first topic to set the tone of just how much unseen work and inspiration goes into these fantastic titles.

It's always going to be a divisive game - how the game is designed is going to split opinion with how that fed through into decisions about gameplay. In its own context, a small indie team pushing for what they did, I personally agree it's a masterpiece of narrative driven indie game making. Think the comparisons across to film making, indie vs summer hollywood blockbuster, always seemed correct to me in terms of risk taking and artistic vision. We need more risk takers who push at boundaries and explore complex ideas, not fewer.

Very well put. I definitely agree that the biggest reason one would call it a masterpiece is due to the size of the studio and the scope of the project. I agree that we need more risk takers out there instead of regurgitating the same stories and staying within parameters that "work". Video games are special for being able to immerse you in a way that you won't get in films and tv shows and I think that is the perfect canvas to explore ideas that might not be so easy to convey in those other forms.

Good immersive game. Wouldn't call that masterpiece, though.

Maybe masterpiece is a bit of a stretch, but it's hard to find examples of studios putting so much time and effort into portraying what the team at Ninja Theory set out to do.
