Join me in this exciting episode of PT's Get Hooked as we return to the stunning 33-acre reservoir on Dartmoor in search of monster pike! Back in September, we explored this venue when the water levels were down at 60% and tested our luck with lure fishing. Now, it’s mid-November, the water level is back up to 80%, and we’re switching up our tactics to dead baiting.
I’ll show you my three-rod setup, complete with a heavy-duty 80lbs fluorocarbon snag leader. Interested in learning how to tie this knot? Drop a comment, and I might make a video showing you how! We’re using a drop-off lead system to tackle the snags and abide by the venue’s rules. Will we hook into one of the big doubles that call this lake home? You won’t want to miss the action.
Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Dartmoor and the thrill of the fight as we chase down monster pike. Hit that like button if you love fishing, subscribe for more pike action, and let me know in the comments where you’d like us to fish next. Tight lines!"
Watch until the end for a link to our previous episode, where we first explored this amazing venue!

Love the jacket
It's the Fox Rage Wind Blocker with fury lining. Nice and warm and keeps the wind out, Hood is removable if your layering up too. I love it !!
Great video mate 👊

Hi enjoyed your show. You could try popping baits up . For oils I like to use Predator Plus liquid. Cheers
@@DarrenJMould Thanks. I’ve done an episode called “Dead Bait Secret, Do Pop Up Baits Really Work?” On the channel on the next visit to the same venue and your right they do! I’ll have a look at the Predator Plus Liquid. The sardine gets thick when it’s very cold.
Watching this after a run of 4 blanks . So much to learn yet
@@gerryclaffey5737 That’s pike fishing !! Keep at it mate they will come 🤞🏻👊🏻
I'm blanking too
Fished there a year ago and like you said, stunning venue to fish! Bit of a yomp to swims mind 🤣
@@bricky5862 yeah the drive down the lanes is interesting too 😀
... my tip,.... when deadbaiting (when you've already got a bite) DON'T move !! ...create a "hotspot" by keeping your bait in the same position... bring it in, new bait and/or inject, if you move you spread the scent all over the place !!.... .. also, some fish like popped-up, some prefer on the deck... but... I NEVER move !!.... my pb (in my avatar) is 28lbs...
😎👍☘️🍻
