Getting some steps in Shaun , looks a good old trek, but well worth it fella . Great action on the centre pin 😲 , never used one in my life but looks awesome fun. Steve M
awsome video Shaun more bonus videos nice pike🎣🐊 will be havin a go next week on my syndi i have 2 for carp 1 for pike, have a 30lbr pike in my syndi hope i get it🙏
Nice to see some pin action on the pike i fish a small river near me for pike and use a similar set up using a couple of 1,75lb rods and pins the pike dont get much bigger than 15lb and a simple under arm lob is all you need. Smelt and sprats are my baits of choice there.
I always use a heavier test curve rod with pike, don’t use anything under 2.75lb. If you know the fish are smaller though, I guess it’s not such an issue, bet it’s a great battle!
@@TheFishingBloggers it's great fun. I've fished this little river for 25+ years and know it well. Anywhere else I use more conventional methods rods, reels etc. Its balanced tackle and knowing what it's capable off.. as I say anything over 7 lbs is a nice size fish a double is a specimen in this lovely little venue. But something about the place just always brings me back. It's not always about the size of the fish, sometimes it's something else..
@@TheFishingBloggers Ok, thank you. I’ll try and find one. I like the way you are more connected to the fish with a centre pin, and I generally fish the margins anyway.
I’ve heard on the grapevine that theres fish over 20lb in there, but I’ve not even caught a double so I’m not sure. There’s lots of jacks as they moved them from the top lake when it had repair work done.
@@TheFishingBloggers ive had pritty much everything on mine carp, roach, pike, perch, tench, bream, sturgeon just need a barbel catfish and zander to finish the set. Catfish could be very very intresting
The reel was bought as a pair off Temu! I don’t think they are on there anymore, seems very smooth and quality is great. Rods a Prologic CSeries 10ft 3.25lb cork, has a soft tip, handy for absorbing the erratic fight of a pike!

Excellent, really enjoying the extra videos with different species
Glad to hear it, should be more coming!
Like the minimalist approach ,part of the fun is getting organised 😊
Agree, I love being organised and everything having its place
Nice video mate classy using the centre pin looks good fun

Love Pike fishing in the winter, but prefer lure fishing. Bit of activity to keep me warmer, and a hit on the retrieve is really exciting.
Yes love some lure fishing, waters near me are too dirty with all this rain! Will be on the lures when they clear
I love using my centrepin reels but never use them as much as i should do really.
Pike fishing is an excuse to do so 👍👍👍
Too right, give it a go!
Brilliant video 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you 🙏

Did a few last year, will need the rain to ease off as my local lakes get really dirty and lure fishing is poor in these conditions
Any idea of what the stock is like in that lake for pike and what they go up to?
