Well there is an important distinction to be made on what was possible to do well with effects around that period, stuff figured out for Star Wars really raised the standards for scifi films and I think Alien of of of the early benefactors of better miniature usage at least. Big budget effects start to be recognizably modern around then. I saw Alien when I was 3ish, the kenner toys for Aliens (1986) made my parents think it was fine for kids😅. Alien3 for NES was the first game I owned after that
The scene that scared me the most was that drop of white fluid dripping down Ash's head.....and then of course got a sick stomach from the chestburster. My friend who went with me to the theater slept with her hall light on for weeks after😂😂

Glad to see your subscribership is growing! You guys are really entertaining to watch! Although technically this is the first film and "Aliens" is a sequel, practically speaking this film's purpose is to act as a "prequel" to Aliens. Edit: that's my opinion, but I think a lot of people would agree with me. That's also my opinion, though, heh.
We will watch it very soon 🫶🏻 alien design is quite outstanding! It definitely looks like a perfect organism, I have only one question- why metal teeth?
1) "wind" or simply the air movement is caused by different temperature of different parts of the ship - that's what the "wind " is - warmer air goes up "over" the cooler 2) "rain" might be the same : we can see that it "rains" in a kinda place with engins/ huge devices or maybe near the reactor (such a ship would have to use the nuclear reactor as a source of power) and those are places where there is significantly warmer but it also means there must be a cooling system of pipes so cool pipes + hot air = condensation of the water vapour from air and dripping water. 3) Sigourney's panties are very small but still like it was fashionable in 1979 :) , however, Sigourney took revenge for being forced to be half naked female astronaut :( she objected to removing bikini hair instead so, as the director said, they had to remove them by hand, fram after frame .... smart woman. You don't play the best female role in space just to show off your half naked ass for no reason.
@@lewis7515 In hindsight, he absolutely was. But that reaction - coming well before the crew suspected anything was up with him - was easily justified by the fact that attacking it could've done severe damage to both ship and crew.
@@Pixelologist No, you haven't understood. Not in hindsight - in Ash' actual practice. Ash, _was always_ operating to an agenda that, we, ash the audience, don't appreciate until much later in the story - but that's a matter of hindsight, for us: not, for him. Ash' alternate priorities were very much a matter of his present and therefore stood to influence his behaviour, in his present and moment, to moment.
@@lewis7515 No, I HAVE understood. That was the company - and Ash's - agenda all along, for sure. But neither we nor the crew recognized that until after the fact. That's what hindsight is: new knowledge/events allowing us to see what was happening before in a different light.
@@Pixelologist You obviously haven't understood - just saying you understand means nothing if you repeatedly demonstrate that you don't. What you write doesn't even make any sense...what are you even talking about? The audience's hindsight is nothing, whatsoever, to do with Ash and the company - so what are you bringing it up for? Ash, acted to support his own agenda - that's the significant imperative that signposted in the narrative that directs his actions. Within the story, he couldn't give a damn about the ship and the crew - did you watch this movie? It's quite clear: "All other priorities, rescinded". "Hindsight", is nothing at all to do with him, in the story. All Ash is interested in is to acquire and preserve the lifeform - so, that 1st principle is what directs him to protect it, and _that_ is what drives him to discourage anyone from touching it - "Hindsight", doesn't have any meaning, here, as this is the narrative Present. In that narrative Present, Ash, is not interested in the crew, what are you talking about? Ash couldn't care less about the ship: the ship could be bled full of holes like a sieve causing everyone to suffocate - Ash, doesn't need to breath, he will survive, and life for him would actually be a lot easier. So, no: Ash' motivation is, quite clearly, to protect the alien - and nothing to do with saving anyone or anything from getting burned by acid, nor any such nonsense... I don't know what to tell you, I can only suggest you watch this film, again.

H R Giger was the artist behind "the Alien" creature. It was inspired by nightmares that he would sketch out upon waking. Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. AND YOU THINK THIS IS JUST A MOVIE ? Revelation 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. REMEMBER THE SCENE WITH DALLAS SAYING "KILL ME"? 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. 7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. 11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
I love it when purely logical people watch a movie like this and attempt to maintain a dismissive attitude about the situations and characters... only to get swept up in the suspense. Primal themes and great storytelling defeat snark every time.
All of the reaction videos say the same thing: "Why did they encounter the issue upon landing on the planet? They landed smoothly". Answer: No they didn't. If you pay attention, one of the "feet" of the landing ship lands on a boulder, while the other feet landed on flat ground. This would cause the "leg" of that "foot" to buckle. Metal would bend and break.
17:30 Here's the thing, as much as I'd want to say "Hell yeah, kill it" you can't. That would be very bad. That blood that spattered out of Kane when it erupted from his chest? Well that spatter would've happened again except this time it would've been acid that probably would've killed everyone in the room. So yeah, don't touch it.
Yeah, well written strong female lead characters have always been embraced by audiences, but that's true of any lead. If we aren't told or shown what makes them such a badass, or they don't progress as a character and turn into one throughout the movie mwe just don't believe it regardless of their anatomy. I agree with you though, I love Ripley as well, she is one of the most memorable in my lifetime, although there were many before her.

It's amazing. People from the 21st century want to apply modern knowledge to things that weren't known in the past. These people are cargo movers, not professional killers or medical technicians. And it goes deeper than that. Ridley Scott made this mo in to pay homage to the sci-fi movies he grew up watching I the 195o's. That's why the pacing is slower to develop tension and engage the viewers. Smoking was also a thing like some other behaviors in the past. The team was behaving according to the norms of the time period. I can't wait for people to judge the norms of today in future movies. What feast they will have. It is quite natural to want stay in your safe space. But you don't quite have a movie without the characters going against the grain now, do you? For your future consideration. First of all, the sequel to this film ALIENS is designed to fall more in the action category than the original. For a completely newer adventure in space is GRAVITY. This movie took 5 years to make and is a true survivors journey. And it is an absolutely film. THE MARTIAN and INTERSTELLAR follows these movies. BLADE RUNNER was the next movie directed by SIR Ridley Scott that is considered a classic staple. You should give it a look. And I can't wait for your review of the Star Wars franchise. I haven't decided to subscribe yet, but I will be following your next few reviews. Keep going and enjoy the movies.

Big budget effects start to be recognizably modern around then. I saw Alien when I was 3ish, the kenner toys for Aliens (1986) made my parents think it was fine for kids😅. Alien3 for NES was the first game I owned after that
@@ScreenJammI've only met one person who didn't like the sequel and his reasoning is ridiculous/psychotic so don't eorrry, it's amazing!
in the 70s little girls (5 years old) were bravier than those 2 adults
A lot of manufacturing coolants and Lubrackets are white
The scene that scared me the most was that drop of white fluid dripping down Ash's head.....and then of course got a sick stomach from the chestburster. My friend who went with me to the theater slept with her hall light on for weeks after😂😂
We were really confused when the while liquid started to drip down his forehead .. never expected him to be an artificial human. .
Also we can totally relate to your friend sleeping with the lights on… we are still sleeping with the lights on since we have watched the Conjuring 😄
@@ScreenJamm That's what Ash used for blood as an 'artificial person'. That milky stuff. He likely had a wound on his head after Ripley smashed him against the wall in the the "Mother" computer room.
"Metal giant toothed tadpole!" 😂😂
It did look like an overgrown ugly tadpole! 🫣🤭
We used to smoke in airplanes.
So true. . I remember restaurants having smoker and non smoker areas, although it didn’t make much difference as you could smell the smoke all over 😝
Wonderful reaction, ladies...Good journey :) Peace!
It fallows (2015), please watch!!
2:47 Where else are they supposed to smoke; outdoors in open space? 😂😂😂
😂 cmon we both know that’s impossible 🤭
@@ScreenJamm 😁👍
That’s my favorite design for those aliens from this franchise. Then watch aliens the second one
We will watch it very soon 🫶🏻 alien design is quite outstanding! It definitely looks like a perfect organism, I have only one question- why metal teeth?
i dont know if yall into gaming, but "Alien: ISOLATION" is a great game that follows the story right after this film..
It sure is.
Good reaction. If you love strong female leads, you will love the brilliant sequel 'Aliens'.
Yes! We love a girl that can lead! 🤜🏻🤛🏻 We are so excited to watch the sequel! 🤩
@@ScreenJamm make sure to watch the extended Director's Cut of Aliens!!
I love her even more now! She is such a badass on and off screen ! ♥️🫶🏻🙌🏻
A masterpiece by Ridley Scott. He also directed Blade Runner.
17:35 - "Don't touch it!" ...because the thing bleeds acid. You can't just attack it with a knife - you'd need some way to TRAP it.
He was much more concerned about harm coming to it, than anything else.
19:27 So cat being normal. 👍😸
Little thief alien tadpole. Funny funny funny funny. ❤❤❤😅😂😊
"Commercial towing vehicle"
It's essentially a tug boat that is pulling an mineral processing facility. The entire "spaceship" is just that part that separates. The rest of the structure is for processing the mineral ore.
Doubles as a cargo ship as well.

Loved your comment about the panties I have always found that scene funny they are so small might as well wear a leaf comment was great Alien is the best Sci- fi film for its time.
Great review! Check out: Aliens (directors cut-1986) Terminator (1984), PSYCHO (1960) 😊👍🏾
Thank you for great suggestions ♥️ all these movies on our list ! 🫶🏻
So, liked it, but... Y'all cut it too much. Was fun to see your reactions. Maybe 10-15 minutes longer? Ciao.
Hey! Thanks for the feedback! We always aim to improve the editing so you guys can enjoy our videos 🫶🏻♥️
The helmet didnt help with a physical attack but may for a virus, yes?
Well… it doesn’t make much difference if its penetrated by an alien 🙂↔️
I hope you also look the 2nd part ALUENS and also Predator!
12:43 You can see the xenomorph egg pass from the face hugger into Kane, the little translucent ball ;)
And Ridley Scott revealed that alien predator in Blade Runner are all in the same universe
I think it happens so quick that no-one notices when theres so much going on already 🤔 thank you for the explanation 🫶🏻♥️
🤔 yeah… regardless.. “kill it!” anyway 😭😂
There's some really good classics, like poseidon adventure earthquake. If you're into scary movies, how about blackula or count yorga
Thank you for the suggestions! We had no idea there were so many movies out there. Keep them coming, and we’ll try to watch as many as possible! ♥️
he didnt poke the egg, his finger fell into it
Yeah, well written strong female lead characters have always been embraced by audiences, but that's true of any lead. If we aren't told or shown what makes them such a badass, or they don't progress as a character and turn into one throughout the movie mwe just don't believe it regardless of their anatomy.
I agree with you though, I love Ripley as well, she is one of the most memorable in my lifetime, although there were many before her.
The water is coming from the machines above. They are dripping water, that's all, it's just water.Obviously, he does not seem concerned, so it must happen a lot
It's just condensation from the ship's ventilation system. Just like the water dripping out of an air conditioner.
@@richard-t3zActually it's the cooling system for the engines. Water would be dripping like that quite a bit.
THE MARTIAN and
INTERSTELLAR follows these movies.
Pls don’t forget the Conjuring Universe series okay?
Of course not! We just needed to watch something different in between the scary ones 🤗 The Conjuring 2 is coming out soon 👀🫣
@ScreenJamm ok thanks 🤩
After Annabelle movies going 1,2,3 the nun 1,2 and the Conjuring 3
And the Curse of LLA Lorona very disappointed
Literally of the whole crew, only Ripley and Parker had any common sense-Shame they scorned each other. They should have been talking shop.
If I hear what the flip one more time... I'm out
People tend to have to reactions to Jones. 1) Save Jones at all costs!! Or 2) Fuck that cat...😂
Alien is all about cats. And the fact that they suck even in space.
Yup yup yuuup 😄♥️🫶🏻🐈
You should watch another film made by Ridley Scott , Thelma and Louise. It's not sc-fi but your comments about a good leading part in a film for à woman make me think that you could appreciate it.
Yes! Its on the list. However I didn’t know it is by Ridley Scott. Thanks! ♥️🫶🏻
Those are respirators aren't they? Not oxygen masks?
Masks used for O2 flow at the hospitals all around the globe. You can even see a little attachment end where oxygen tube connects 😄 it made me giggle, despite that I loved the movie ♥️🫶🏻
Great reaction guys, but it would have been even better if the woman with the great hair (I am sorry I don't know your name!), wasn't fiddling with her hair for most of the time.
"I can't believe this was filmed in 1979." Shall I assume that you have not seen 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, from 1968? If you want to be impressed...!
great movie and reaction. Now you have to watch the sequel Aliens {plural} the best sequel ever made. the rest are not worth watching in my opinion. waste of time. Sigourney Weaver was nominated for an academy award for her performance as Ellen Ripley in these movies. take care
Isn’t Sigourney Weaver was so perfect for the role of Ripley!? Loved her! We are gearing up to watch the sequel and judging by the overall comments it will not disappoint 🤩
@@ScreenJamm no I am sure it won't!! another great older movie to watch now during Halloween time is the original poltergeist from 1982. such great scary movies back in the day. I never looked at a TV the same since lol. they redid it in 2015 but that one was crap. take care
In the future, small oxygen tanks are available- integrated into the mask. They don't last long. Less than 1 hour.
the sequel, Aliens, is even better. More action!
Over the years I have come to see both movies were great. Just different in their approach.
Alien was Horror/Action.
Aliens was Action/Horror.
Terminator 1 and 2 are the same way respectively.
Ya gotta check out #2 Aliens … Don’t bother with number 3. It’s crap.
It’s already on the list and we couldn’t be more excited to watch the sequel! 🤩
Excellent reaction ladies. Now you need to watch the sequel, Aliens, which is even better than the original!
🫶🏻 Thank you @newpapyrus ♥️ We are gearing up to watch the sequel, we hope it will be as good as the first one!
unwatchable
Thank You! Your feedback is appreciated ❤
28:58 That wasn't even the end for Big Chap, as Alien: Romulus (2024) will testify. Aliens (1986) takes place after that, if you want to continue watching by continuity rather than production date.
The sequel is even better -- Aliens. Make sure you wath the Director's cut, which is even better. I'd avoid Alien 3 and the rest of the fanchise, if I were you. They are all disappointing, to say the least.
No guys watch the movies in this sequence. Do PROMETHEUS next its the prequel to Alien and at the end of it get the directors cut of the 5 mmin conversation between Davif, the Engineer and Weyland. You will find it here on youtube and play it after movie ends. it will give you so much infor about the Aliens. THEN watch the sequel to this movie ALIENS, then the sequel to Prometheus ALIEN COVENANT. As far as the other movies in the series i think they are junk, other fans will disagree. I tell every youtuber this but o one listens, maybe u be the first? If so u will understand and appreciate the series so much more. if not your loss, I told u so. I saw Alien in '79 in theatre. it scared everyone.
Ok girls Ill be watchin
