They just don't make em' like this anymore. Every frame explodes with imagination. You can feel the sweat and blood that was poured into every detail. The stories don't tell you exactly what's going on, which lets the audience interpret their own meanings. Always enjoy seeing your reviews Bob!
Decent anthology this one. Have you ever reviewed Memories (1995) Bob? Another anthology film with 3 eps. The first ep Magnetic Rose is especially amazing. Script by the late Satoshi Kon.
80s anime is underrated if you ask me so I will give this a look. I don't think I ever heard of this but it seems like a good enough time. That's always been a big issue I had with short stories and short series is that while cool and experimental, you wish they were longer to reach their full potential.
My favorite animes are compilations like this. Robot Carnival and Genius Party are also great. I think it goes back to me growing up on horror anthologies via Twilight Zone and Tales from the Crypt. I just love the format of short stories that go well together. It doesn't seem like there has been one like that lately. Maybe that Star Wars anime thing that came out? I don't have much interest in that as part of the appeal is a variety of stories and worlds they take place in.
I'd love to see more of stuff like ep 3. The premise is really cool and creepy. While visually impressive, the lack of a story just left me cold for the other segments. Part 2 in particular, it felt like it dragged in the last few minutes
@@Genekatana not much help since location is a huge factor and i'm neutral towards legal/illegal streaming so i don't promote either, however the information is out there
Lol I feel that way too sometimes. Some videos were recorded in bulk so I didn’t realize how fast I was going until I began editing. Some of my old videos from years ago are even faster than that. Thankfully I’m getting better at pacing myself in recent videos. It’s kinda hard when you’re having a one sided conversation with a piece of plastic sometimes lol
I have a mint condition hard copy , retail disc CD of the Neo Toyo 1987 anime soundtrack. It was very expensive and extremely rare. I would be willing to share it if anyone is interested. If you are please contact me.
One of the most precious gems in animation history

Neo tokyo and Robot carnival never left the vhs for months when i was a wee lad, they still are amazing work and i love them just as much today.

There are other forms of Arthouse japanese animation nowadays, but they are not as available as 80s 2d anime.
