"OH ! HARD LUCK " - 8 May 2006 . The pilot / co-pilot of a $285,000,000.00 B-1B miss wheels down, and belly flop at Diego Garcia. The A/C was very smart (Harvard) and professional, but he still missed following procedures...and so did the ATC/tower.
Omg I can't believe Louis roped this guy into flying him around the world! Louis is so happy and excited and this bloke is like "I have to concentrate" "Flying is really challenging and tiring" etc ahahah LOVE IT!!!
What an amazing adventure! Whatever your route, I'm looking forward to following your journey and the wonderful empathic and peaceful souls that you will meet. Would be awesome to see you finding one of those as you pass by the UK. Namaste 💫
Having owned 18 210s I would highly recommend you include a quart of 5606 hydraulic fluid and a pint squeeze bottle with some tubing for the Landing Gear Power Pack, in case you blow a seal somewhere in hydraulics, as if you have a major leak the small reserve in the reservoir, in the center console for the manual pump may not be enough to extend the gear even manually. Having the extra fluid ready to pump in can prevent a gear-up landing, and having experienced it once when an actuator seal blew (actually the actuator cracked) and the hand pump was not enough to overcome the leak. Adding the extra fluid and using the electric pump was, and it saved the aircraft. Also, it would be advisable to brief Louie as to where and how to add the fluid as the reservoir is on his side.
Congrats Louis! And you're using a transparent logo / blurred background intro similar to mine - so cool! Wishing you all the best on your flight! You're always welcome here - your route flies directly over my hometown in Kingston Ontario Canada... we've got some amazing dining with the highest number of restaurants per capita in the country! :)
You're flying my dream airplane!! I've just discovered your videos. I owned a 172 and 182 in my flying days and had dreamt often about upgrading to a 210. Never did it, haven't flown for almost 30 years now, so I'm going to enjoy watching your exploits on RUclips immensely.
I'm so gonna love this series! Super excited to see where you guys are up to. Also, gotta love JP. He's so humble and cool, it will be nice to see him around for the next three months.
Find a group to pray over the plane and pray for a safe journey and great success. Great little flight in this vlog with a beautiful city view. I'm excited for you guys!
Do it! Thats what im doing now! I like your channel guys, you're so funny together! I'll drop a sub, if you could check out my travel channel that would be amazing! :)
So excited for this! Not sure if you'd be able to get around to it on this trip, but you should seriously visit Jordan. I recently traveled there and there is so much adventure to be had! I'm talking miles of desert in Wadi Rum, going to see Petra completely alone if you go right when it opens, canyoning on the Siq trail through Wadi Mujib, and being able to literally climb all over ancient ruins at places like Jerash, the Citadel, and a bunch of cool castles all over. Seriously, it is so worth it, and the lessons it taught me really fit in with your Live the Adventure, accept everyone vibe.
BTW, Looks like you got about a 76' model 210, and my opinion one of the best. I like it still has the gear doors, and don't let anyone talk you into removing them. Also, JP, good, solid crosswind technique I'd ride back seat with you any day. However, just a reminder with the high center of gravity of the 210, the long wing an narrow gear, be cautious of loading the nose gear as you loose aileron authority. I was right-seat with a 747 caption who was conditioned to plant the nose wheel in a crosswind and even as the aircraft was nearly nosing over he continued to apply forward stick. I finally yanked the yoke from him and was just able to recover using full back pressure.
As a pilot I'm so looking forward to this trip. Have fun, be safe! I'm retired airline pilot my brother is a Capt w Delta. We love to say fly fast and take chances! Kinda like acting and break a leg! Safe travels.
Loved the series... Good job, guys... As a pilot and photo geek my self - I have searched and searched, but really missing out on an episode about the plane and gadgets (more details on cameras, the drone, etc)... If you have something like this already and I have not found it, I would be sooo glad if you could link it.. If you haven't done a video on this... OMG - go go go :-) :-) Again - fantastic job you guys... Looking forward to the movie!
Just starting this Playlist, Thanks Louis, never had the chance to watch it. Glad to finally jump on it. PS congrats on the DOC for Discovery . ADZ , Plymouth,UK
Hey Louis! I would love to invite your crew to come visit the beautiful state of Maine on your journey - I live in a tiny town called Owls Head right around the corner from the Rockland Airport (perfect for a small plane). Also near the Maine Media Workshops which is one of the top documentary film schools in the country. Anyways, I'll shoot you a more official email for sure - just wanted to quickly extend the invitation. Let the adventure begin ✈️ -Cecile Bizet
we think that the best name is AMELIA. In honor to Amelia Earhart. She became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. We love travel too.
The concept of flying around the world in a small plane is cool enough but you filming it makes it even cooler! I fly a Cessna 152 so I can appreciate how cramped a plane like that can get when you're in it for a long amount of time
Pro-tip - testing out suction mounts with cameras or whatever on them - do it closer to the ground with a cushion just below. It's really better than accidentally bouncing your A7S and lens lol
TS2princess that's an easy question to respond, they could bring toilet bags so they could do all their necessities there and then, they could throw everything away.
I watched this entire series 4 years ago or so, and I plan to watch it again. I want to fly a C210 around the world like JP did, but in flight sim. This'll be fun.
You know your camper van. I saw a bride and groom. Wedding couple. Going along the road in a white camper van that was done up with white flowers and white ribbons and the camper van looked so clean and shiny and I thought WOW. Also thought that if volks wagon started to make those camper vans exactly the same as yours but all bright and clean and brand new I bet many people would buy them.
Also my dad has been a pilot for 40 years and you guys and especially JP have to understand risk of this flight. He has very little experience for doing a round the world trip. Not saying JP isn't confident and competent. But that doesn't substitute for experience. We will pray for you guys. Be careful and be safe. And my dad says "if something doesn't feel right, don't fly" . Whatever shot you need or whatever can wait. Good luck boys!
Hey Louis :D I'm 16 and I'm currently training to get my PPL (Private Pilots License) :) Really happy to see you flying :D Also, you should totally take control sometime, its not as hard as you think! The only hard part is landing!
Wesley college (a high school) in Melbourne Australia collaborated with some of the elders in an aboriginals community in the north west of Australia to make a studio school for locals. Their students visit the Melbourne campuses and the Melbourne campuses' kids visit them to learn not only normal subjects but about each other's cultures. Check it out
JP, all of the landings that you made on several videos were outstanding. I also enjoyed having Matt on board and I'm sure his assistance and piloting skills was a real benefit since after all, he did a solo round the world trip. I have to run down his videos because the thought of doing what he did alone is mind-boggling. That doesn't take away from what you accomplished, you were essentially alone in terms of flying the airplane after Matt departed, but regardless, outstanding achievement and I also admired your professional style when it came to flying. Only one complaint, it had to do with the radio background noise when Matt was explaining things on the last leg to Austria. I wished there was a way to mute the other tower to pilot transmissions, you couldn't hear much of what you guys said when the radio traffic got busy.
come to the north coast of ireland (specifically north antrim)- it's honestly one of the most stunningly beautiful places in the work with incredible people anywhere you go x
Anyone else started binge watching this series in lockdown
Hahaha yep! It’s also good to rewatch because I can see how much more I understand the flying side of stuff than last time
Me!
I came from watching an Amelia Earhart documentary to watching Louis hahahah
ya i am again
You should add a map right after each intro to show where you are that day and where you're flying to next
Matt Baker that'd be cool
Unfortunately Louis never seems to read comments :(
Do you know how much work that would be? He's fucking flying for 3 months straight. How is he supposed to be capable of that?
+lilly James no thank you :)
Yes! What a great idea!
You should call the plane "Jules" as in Jules Verne (Around the world 80 days)
Sounds coooool
genius
Great name!
Yesss this
Absolutely! That's a perfect fit, haha.
JP clearly doesn't mess about when it comes to flying
the_candourist perfection!!! "Safety is no accident" is a term my dad always instilled in us! Love that you follow it too!!!!
Ian Appleton does they need Visa's?
Yeah thats clear from the previous vlogs in Africa, admirable! Just need to keep Louis in check lol good luck with the trip guys.

This is the best vlogging trip ever made!!
The ultimate adventure - flying in your own plane around the world... Couldn't get any better. Balloo is a perfect name for the plane! Be safe guys!
Louis can the film be released in 4K? Maybe on Netflix? It'd look incredible!
If Netflix buys the film, they won't allow Louis to post it anywhere else.
Oh, was completely unaware of that. It's because there are film's and documentaries on Netflix that can also be bought on DVD and Blu-ray
BTW, Looks like you got about a 76' model 210, and my opinion one of the best. I like it still has the gear doors, and don't let anyone talk you into removing them.

Is it just me or does jp look at Louis like "stop filming I'm trying to fly a plane"
Not sure where you met JP but he is one pilot I would totally trust with this kind of amazing mission. I am looking forward to seeing all these vids.
JP almost cracked a smile at 7:48
Please don't hesitate to let JP talk about aviation, I love it
Please come to Mumbai,India. Will be glad to show you around
As a pilot I'm so looking forward to this trip. Have fun, be safe! I'm retired airline pilot my brother is a Capt w Delta. We love to say fly fast and take chances! Kinda like acting and break a leg! Safe travels.
I wish you and JP a very very nice trip greets from Berlin

Haha 11:45 probably not the best choice of words loius lol.
Tom Ottaway why not?
Tom Ottaway yeah why not
My bad, supposed to be 11:45 not 10:45
I started this series in 2018 and never finished. I am restarting now and going to watch the whole thing!
This Cessna with retractable gears is still creeping me out
Pro-tip - testing out suction mounts with cameras or whatever on them - do it closer to the ground with a cushion just below. It's really better than accidentally bouncing your A7S and lens lol
Yes! I've been waiting for this episode.
I work for an airline and I don’t travel as much as you. You are living the dream brother. I wish I had a travel partner like you. You rock
Call it "Dumbo" (the flying elephant)!!
Safe trip Louis , I hope you won't have any problems . We will be watching you .
Airplane Name Recommendation:
"Planey-McPlaneFace"
Never clicked on a video so fast in my life, I wish you the best of luck on your adventure Louis!
I want to know what you guys are going to do about toilet breaks whilst flying :O !!!!
TS2princess some small planes like that have a funnel with a pipe that goes to a little take but you have to squat and piss in a funnel
What about pooping! they could be flying for hours, especially across oceans!
Louis eats animals raw, whats a little bit of chocolaty poop gonna do to him he probably drinks urine on a daily basis as well.
TS2princess that's an easy question to respond, they could bring toilet bags so they could do all their necessities there and then, they could throw everything away.
Yeah JP posted a photo on his instagram story of some sort of toilet bags for flying
this is the most underrated channel on youtube, louis deserves millions of subscribers !
Planey Mc Planeface
Harry Collins Are you Australian!? Or is it just a coincidence that you happened to reference the ferry?
Still my favourite RUclips series of all time. I’m finally back here.
"Lucy" cause she's in the skies with diamonds.
I LOVE that you used your old vlog music! 😊😊😊 Nostalgia
Go for The flying sausage
If you're going with the animated film route, you could also call it the Spirit of Adventure (from Up).
You could call it harmony
8:18 Louis between your hair style, the plane, and that scene, it all looks exactly like playing GTA! Can't be any cooler than that.
Anyone here during quarantine
Are they going to cross the Pacific in one leg or they will be island-hopping in the Pacific ocean till they make it to LA???
Call the plane Eric
eric trump
Betty is better
I watched this entire series 4 years ago or so, and I plan to watch it again. I want to fly a C210 around the world like JP did, but in flight sim. This'll be fun.
Let our prayers go to to the victims in the Barcelona attack!

Who you praying to
Yvette Dale you hurt my feelings
Reece Haines and those who are in Aleppo and Iraq

5 years later and I'm going to binge watch this again. Nice .
Same here :)
Plane Name: Fun for Flewie
I suggest buying good polarizing filters for shooting through windows, it will help with nasty reflections. ;)
Call it "Icarus". It comes from Greek Mythology. You can google it for some extra info!
good choice, agree.
ami3kbe Icarus flew too close to the sun and fell to his death... great idea 😂👍🏼
Ummm Icarus actually died flying... so maybe not?
yup, haha.
Considering what happened to Icarus, that's a shit name.
Hey Louis :D I'm 16 and I'm currently training to get my PPL (Private Pilots License) :) Really happy to see you flying :D Also, you should totally take control sometime, its not as hard as you think! The only hard part is landing!

Can’t wait to watch this! Thanks for the support mate!
Why wouldn't u bring your noise canceling headphones?
Those Lightspeed Zulu's they're using are the best there are.
sike bose A20
Make sure you both have a pilot shirts with epaulettes, and smart trousers, can really help smooth the bureaucracy in some parts of the world
Like!!!
Really enjoyed going along for the ride. Would love to find an embroidered cap like JP wears.
Name the plane Amelia for Amelia Earhart

diggin' those travel vibes back.
I'm ecstatic for the upcoming videos, I can't imagine how excited you must be.
So awesome! A plane truly feels like the definition of freedom!
Visit Malta it's a small island in the Mediterranean ! We have got a lot of cool history and also really nice crystal blue beaches.
Louis we would love to see you in Lexington Kentucky! So excited to watch your trip unfold! Best wishes mate!
come to the north coast of ireland (specifically north antrim)- it's honestly one of the most stunningly beautiful places in the work with incredible people anywhere you go x
The GoPro under the wing, how is it powered? The battery barely lasts an hour and surely you can't be changing it all the time.
Can't wait to see the map tomorrow! Love seeing your excitement about all of this, I'm so tuned in to all of this!
Lois, you guys should stop in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, amazing airfield and location
Havn't even competed watching the intro part and i already know this is gonna be some epic couple of months!
