This whole parody movie was really well done with the animation, ridiculous plot, and acting, and I’m glad you guys could make it and dedicate it to him. The person who played Rodrick is a really good actor, overall loved this film, it was pretty funny and definitely would’ve been a better replacement then Long Haul

Yes, I did continue it, and regardless of how ridiculous it gets, it still starts out exactly as I would expect from a studio-produced Wimpy Kid movie made to follow up the originals. All the right ingredients are set up strongly, and Rowley being cool and leaving Greg behind in the dust in terms of maturity feels right and expected. Even Fregley became mature, while Greg stayed his narcissistic, egotistical self with almost no maturity at all. Unlike those around him, he doesn't change. He's still the same kid writing in his journal because he's expecting to become something great and spectacular. He is specifically writing so he doesn't have to do interviews because of how high and mighty he thinks he is, and you can see that ego on full display throughout most of the parody. Absolute perfection

As a film student and big fan of the wimpy kid series myself, I have to say that this parody film is fucking fantastic! I just watched it for the 2nd time and noticed so many more details! Super impressed by the writing, producing, directing, filming, acting, editing, etc. This is def a 10/10 comedy imo! Deserves it's 35K+ views and will go down in youtube history as an absolute classic! Edit: This vid now has over 1M views... LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!

I for some reason disagree. You, see usually massive companies like Disney make great movies shitty. For example Star Wars. For me most of the films like these made with limited recourses and a cast that all gets along and forms an amazing bond just makes the film 10x better and more realistic. Something giant companies like Disney can never hope to achieve.

Even tho the camera angles and shots are somewhat what I would expect from a college class or highschool I think the narrative, execution, and feeling of authenticity with ideas is really what drove this whole film
This is definitely one of the best Fan films I've ever seen. I cracked up multiple times and I couldn't have imagined how crazy it gets towards the end. When Fregley said that he is pregnant I laughed so hard that I had tears in my eyes. 😂 But literally this is so well played and directed. Must have been such a blast to film this.

I love it. This is about the dumbest thing I’ve seen on RUclips but it was more well directed and written than 90% of what Hollywood has come out with in 2023.

This went from 0 to 100 real quick in terms of craziness. Anyway, this film was really good. The animations, acting, jokes or writing, and cinematography were top-notch.
Pitch for the sequel: Sophomore Year So in this, it turns out manny faked his death so he can kill the rest of the heffleys, but Greg is the last standing, so it’s Greg and Rowley Vs Manny
The spikey ball, the puke on the windshield, the #notmyrodrick reference, I can tell this film was made by a true fan and was a real labour of love. The music was amazing and the fact it was written by rodrick is perfect, incredible job on this movie lads!
A list of shots and editing that I greatly enjoyed: 2:06 really cosy shot 7:32 great composition to have Greg just off centre, with the natural divide of the door frame 10:00 this scene is amazing and the shot being obscured by the shadows is a touch of class 14:25 pulling the notebook out from under the bed is great, blowing the dust off adds instant character and the spotlight is a great touch. A hand pulling the book away is also a great use of motion in the scene 14:48/ 15:05 Greg’s body being in frame but his head remaining out, mirroring Roderick, shows how he is becoming like his older brother, unrecognisable to Rowley 14:58 I just really like the lighting 15:41 just amazing. You didn’t have to include this but you did 19:17 in complete awe. This is gorgeous. Roderick’s hair, his grin, the way the smoke envelopes his face. Breathtaking 19:30 just think it’s really nice lighting again 20:57 wide shot establishes that Roderick is not there… 21:00 and here he is. Amazing. Brings so much life to this undead icon
the scene of him smoking + the lighting and music was perfect and so aesthetically pleasing. Also when he cut the brakes that extra scene to rly show what he was doing was so cool

I for some reason disagree. You, see usually massive companies like Disney make great movies shitty. For example Star Wars. For me most of the films like these made with limited recourses and a cast that all gets along and forms an amazing bond just makes the film 10x better and more realistic. Something giant companies like Disney can never hope to achieve.

This is definitely one of the best Fan films I've ever seen. I cracked up multiple times and I couldn't have imagined how crazy it gets towards the end. When Fregley said that he is pregnant I laughed so hard that I had tears in my eyes. 😂 But literally this is so well played and directed. Must have been such a blast to film this.

So let me get this straight. Greg is gay for fregley. His whole family died in a car accident and then Rodrick came back to life as a demon before fregley got pregnant and then died
10/10 story writing.
Man, I actually knew Abe, he used to give me guitar lessons, had no idea he passed. He always seemed like such a good dude.
I love it. This is about the dumbest thing I’ve seen on RUclips but it was more well directed and written than 90% of what Hollywood has come out with in 2023.
I can really see Rowley moving through the stages of life, getting a job, buying a car, eventually starting a family while Greg is still sitting in his room waiting for his fame.

The spikey ball, the puke on the windshield, the #notmyrodrick reference, I can tell this film was made by a true fan and was a real labour of love. The music was amazing and the fact it was written by rodrick is perfect, incredible job on this movie lads!

14:25 pulling the notebook out from under the bed is great, blowing the dust off adds instant character and the spotlight is a great touch. A hand pulling the book away is also a great use of motion in the scene
14:48/ 15:05 Greg’s body being in frame but his head remaining out, mirroring Roderick, shows how he is becoming like his older brother, unrecognisable to Rowley
