I would think that those specs would be just fine for what you need to do using blender. You'll be surprised how Powerful these Legion Laptops are. All the Legions perform better than almost any other Laptop with the same specs. The i5 12500 is just a little bit more powerful than the i7 11700 which should be plenty of performance for 3d modeling & rendering using blender. You can't go wrong with The Lenovo Legion Models. I researched Laptops for a solid year before buying my Legion.
After looking around, seems like UK and Singapore at least already has this released. UK pricing is 1900 GBP, although sometimes on sale for 1709(!), while Singapore is priced at SGD 3,499, which is nearly equivalent to the non-discounted UK price (and has a tax rebate for foreigners). Hope this helps someone!
@@keonxd8918 One thing watching all these videos has taught me, if you can find the power draws for their CPUs and GPUs, you should be able to guess their overall performance. Just watch out for the heat curves.
Hello Matthew, i got this laptop but with NVidia 3050 Ti because that is the only configuration available right now. Is it good enough, i don't do much of games but going to use it more like a workstation for CPU intensive tasks. I connect 3 external monitors to it, though. Is 3050 Ti that bad?
the new AMD 6000 series of CPUs will have a much better intergrated GPUs and I think they will become a viable option for me to play with them whenever I'm concerned about electricity and power draw.
I have the 5i pro (12th gen Intel) and the keyboard rgb colours are stuck on and cannot be controlled (the settings don’t appear in the Vantage software) and Lenovo can’t fix it, I have the premium level support package and they say I have to send it back to them and wait for them to fix/replace it, they won’t send an advanced replacement. Other than those issues, I actually like the laptop, it’s an OK deal for the money.
I have ROG Strix from 2018, it has 6c12t intel i7. I mainly use this for light photoshop and illustrator work and some gaming. The laptop, even after almost 4 years runs quite well. Should I upgrade? I am tempted by all these performance gains, but I highly doubt if they will mean anything noticeable in my workflow. The sound of running modern games on 3060 with DLSS (mine is 1050ti) on that shiny 16:10 screen is tempting me. Your suggestion will be final, Should I give in or should I skip this year?
numpad isnt for everyone. also a 'gaming' laptop isnt a laptop where you'll just keep on gaming 24x7. gaming laptops are getting better in overall performances and people do prefer using them for their office work or whatever. some ppl do love them some dont. and i hope having a numpad with a trade off of a not centered trackpad is going to be a deal breaker.
I am sooooo confused, should I get the 5i Pro or the Legion 5, both have the same specs 3070ti 12gen and now on sale for exactly the same price only £4 difference. I like the screen backside of 5, but wanted to know the difference if I am losing something if I choose Legion 5 over pro, other than aesthetics
Your Huawei laptop is definitely not brighter my guess is the Huawei laptop is using a glass / glossy display? If so, that shows colours as more contrasty and vibrant compared to the matte display on the Legion. OR you might have had auto brightness turned on the Lenovo.

@@brettmoberg6140 I can't wait! This is the first time I have bought a brand new computer since 2003. 😅
I know you will definitely appreciate it more than most people. I am waiting on my Legion 5i Pro 3060 QHD from Lenovo Site. I can't wait either. It's been 10 years since I bought a new Laptop.
Wait. What? It (G14) even beats out G15 in many tests? 😔
Hey i plan on buying the Zephyrus G15 2022 do you have any info on it? Will you be making a video reviewing it and comparing it to the M16?
Stay tuned = )
@@MatthewMoniz 😁😁😁 Need it ASAP! Keep up the great work
Hi Matthew. I hope you're doing fine. I just have one question. Does this laptop have a RTX 3070 variant ?
Yup! 3070ti = )
@@MatthewMoniz thanks man
Very Informative. I want an AMD version of this. Legion is the best in my eyes :)
I see no point in these when battery life is mere 2 hrs. Any Laptop that lasts less than 5 hrs, doesn't make sense.
After using both of the 2021 versions of the m16 and the 5 pro I think the m16 is better. The lower battery life doesnt bother me. The m16 is more portable
When you say close to 2.5 hours of battery life, is that trying to game off of battery alone or general usage like web browsing?
Can't believe that they've not fixed touchpad random phantom touches. My 5Pro is unusable without a mouse and people buying it right know keep having issues.. Nobody's talking about this, but forums are full of request!
(Yep, I sent mine to repair, come back with heatsink fully disconnected and no thermal paste, issue still there like everyone's L5P)
Be careful guys! If yours starts doing this, just return it ASAP!
Do you think it’s a better choice this one or the HP Envy 16 (same i7, same GPU, same RAM) for office works and same gaming? They should perform almost the same, I like the build quality but I’m scared of that huge charger
On the slides for Premier Pro, Photoshop and After Affects it says "Higer is Better" instead of "Higher is Better"
Still missing gallium nitride charges
Hello, love your video and test !! GREAT Job ! Could you compare this with the Asus Stryx Scar 2022 i9 +3070ti) I am in real pain to choose beetween those 2 !!!
Thanks Fabien! I'd love to but this Legion is using a RTX 3060 and wouldn't be a fair comparison.
@@MatthewMoniz I understand, so If I can buy the Strix @2650€ with I9 & 3070ti over the L5P i @2400 I must go to the stryx ! And I will haver a monster for gaming and editing video with premiere.
I'm planning to buy this laptop but the i5 12500h rtx3060 and 16gb 4800mhz version, could these specs handle 3d modelling and rendering using blender?
And Singapore already has intel 12th U and P series of laptops from Dell and HP. Which I still can't find reviews of
@@keonxd8918 One thing watching all these videos has taught me, if you can find the power draws for their CPUs and GPUs, you should be able to guess their overall performance. Just watch out for the heat curves.
This vs g15 and m15??
Legion Pro or HP Omen?
Hello Matthew, i got this laptop but with NVidia 3050 Ti because that is the only configuration available right now. Is it good enough, i don't do much of games but going to use it more like a workstation for CPU intensive tasks. I connect 3 external monitors to it, though. Is 3050 Ti that bad?
Guys, do you know where I can download that wallpaper?
Can you provide a TimeSpy score for it?
What about the color gamut of the screen? Do they have a P3 version?
Thinking of buying the one with amd.....
the new AMD 6000 series of CPUs will have a much better intergrated GPUs and I think they will become a viable option for me to play with them whenever I'm concerned about electricity and power draw.
tanks!! here in the views before i go for 5pro 7gen i5 12500h and 3060.. for 1,200$ looks like the best option for me. wath do you tink?
I have the 5i pro (12th gen Intel) and the keyboard rgb colours are stuck on and cannot be controlled (the settings don’t appear in the Vantage software) and Lenovo can’t fix it, I have the premium level support package and they say I have to send it back to them and wait for them to fix/replace it, they won’t send an advanced replacement. Other than those issues, I actually like the laptop, it’s an OK deal for the money.
Plz review new Dell Xps 15 inch & 17 inch intel alder laptops.
Here early I'm frost from your server
THanks frost!
how much did this laptop cost you?
I have ROG Strix from 2018, it has 6c12t intel i7. I mainly use this for light photoshop and illustrator work and some gaming. The laptop, even after almost 4 years runs quite well. Should I upgrade? I am tempted by all these performance gains, but I highly doubt if they will mean anything noticeable in my workflow.
The sound of running modern games on 3060 with DLSS (mine is 1050ti) on that shiny 16:10 screen is tempting me. Your suggestion will be final, Should I give in or should I skip this year?
Maybe wait until rtx 4000 came out if you can
Review of msi gs77 stealth
It is 2022 and a laptop comes out with a 2h 30 min battery life...I do not care about your maximum performance Intel, this is a LAPTOP God dam it!
Does the CPU performance of legion better than m16 Despite i9?
Can we get a indept review of asus tuf f15 i7 12700h and rtx 3060 plzz.
Still missing windows hello cam
Only issue is the availability. I order one recently and got a 3 months!! shipping time. Not cool
Why demote down to a 3060 i dont get that ?
It's driving me crazy seeing all these reviewers having zephyrus g15 comparisons and I can't even find a release date.
Ya I’d go nuts too. It’s hard to find any of these new laptops /:
@@MatthewMoniz Well, since you got the unit you used for benchmarking, that means it should be soon, right? .... Righttt?
I hope so!
add 1 more usb but not card reader, if add in a card reader will be perfect.
Man I personally hate the number pad especially on a gaming PC also not centred touchpad is ugly!! I do love simmetry
I agree with you on this one. Don't really need a numpad either but lots of others do feel different.
@@MatthewMoniz i think num pad steals space for good speakers, that's why MacBooks speakers are top notch!
numpad isnt for everyone. also a 'gaming' laptop isnt a laptop where you'll just keep on gaming 24x7. gaming laptops are getting better in overall performances and people do prefer using them for their office work or whatever. some ppl do love them some dont. and i hope having a numpad with a trade off of a not centered trackpad is going to be a deal breaker.
Add finger print reader .
Sold out for now.
I am sooooo confused, should I get the 5i Pro or the Legion 5, both have the same specs 3070ti 12gen and now on sale for exactly the same price only £4 difference. I like the screen backside of 5, but wanted to know the difference if I am losing something if I choose Legion 5 over pro, other than aesthetics
seems like Lenovo 5i pro has more ports like usb A. not sure though , go check
Where can i buy this model with core i7 11 gen. Ssd 1tb ram 32 Rtx3070???
Hi Matthew, which better lenovo legion 5i Pro or Hp envy x360. I need for to start coding 👍
For coding go for intel processor
just returned mine...500 nits....i got a huawei with 300 nits and next each other huawei(300 nits) it's brighter then lenovo 500 nits...confused
Your Huawei laptop is definitely not brighter my guess is the Huawei laptop is using a glass / glossy display? If so, that shows colours as more contrasty and vibrant compared to the matte display on the Legion. OR you might have had auto brightness turned on the Lenovo.
Are you sure that it isn't a RTX 3070 with that 150W TGP ? Is this really a RTX 3060 with 150W TGP ?
Yup! I got around 138W power draw from the board
@@MatthewMoniz WOWOWOWOW ! Thanks a lot man ❤️
@@MatthewMoniz also, if you don't mind, can you do an indepth gaming review ?
Gen 7 L5P 3050TI are going for 1700$
& Gen 6 L5P with 3060 is 1230$.
Which is one's better?
Last year
man wait for the lenovo sales, why the rush?
