      They start at £3000. I could afford all of them and I've never even earned the national average wage. I'm about as far from a doctor or lawyer as you can imagine. However you're right about age - I'm 61. Start saving a bit every pay packet - and when you get older you'll be able to afford this stuff if it's a priority for you. But not if you just spend all your dosh ! If you save a bit each month it builds up over the years. It may sound impossible but it's amazing how much you save over a working lifetime - even if like me you never earn much. But it's all down to what is important to you. For me buying guitars was very important and I've bought (and sold)over 100 since 1979 so I have loads ! About 40 at the moment. Never bought using loans either, cash all day long.

    • @danthegeetarman
      @danthegeetarman Месяц назад +3

      @@gazzie12000 this is actually very interesting to me. I live in the united states, and make what is considered a solid income, but could never afford a guitar for $3900 as an expendable purchase. I can pay all of my bills without much worry, which I’m grateful for, but to purchase a 3000 gbp guitar without being heavily affected is not something I could pull off. I’m curious: is that 3000 from your savings, from your income, from payment installments, or from selling other gear? This is very interesting to me

    • @gazzie12000
      @gazzie12000 Месяц назад

      @@danthegeetarman From savings. Yes sure I'll explain a little, and I'm not trying to boast or say "look at me", but just encourage people to save for things that are important to them. Because especially when you're younger (say from 16 to maybe 40/45) it can seem impossible to believe you can one day buy things like £3000 guitars! I always saved for what I wanted. I'm 100% debt free, mortgage paid off in my 40s. One thing I always did whatever I earned was try save an average of 10% of my pay. Obviously some months I'd have big bills so it dipped, but other times I'd get a good month and save more. I practiced "delayed gratification" ie not having some things - so I could have more important (to me) things in future. So I I would save until I could afford the thing I wanted, rather than settle for lesser things sooner. You need strong willpower but it works. Also, to prove my point (and I don't say this to show off) but to hopefully encourage others - when I say I can afford them all I mean ALL, not just one. I could buy them all quite a few times over - very easily. Good luck with your finances and guitar buying journey.😀.

      @@zacharysmithingell5460 Oh yeah. It kinda does. Ive played one RnR Relic at my local guitar center a couple years ago. It was used, set up poorly, sounded incredible and was still the best looking, feeling and sounding guitar in the used department. Maybe in the whole store. I should have pulled the trigger at $1,850. But they stopped haggling on used gear and it kinda put me off. But anyway, it was they're Les Paul but in gold sparkle and HEAVY relic'd. Just killer looking. Never find one that cheap again. Have a wonderful day my friend.

    Personally if I was going to drop the 4-6k on a new boutique guitar I'd rather support a brand like this, which goes more direct to the actual builders, vs the giant brands who gobble the profits and give them to God-knows-who CEO and executives, etc. Downside is that resale value on these isn't a high as a Gibson, but upside is that if you look in the used market in USA you can find these for amazing prices. Less options in the UK, sadly. But maybe if Andertons can sell some for a few years there will be some used availability there eventually as well.

      I never understand this line of thinking. Sure, buying a Fender means you are contributing to the profits of the Fender shareholders and board members. But it also means you are contributing to the paycheck of thousands of regular and blue collar workers who Fender employee. Part of the money going to Fender, Gibson, PRS, etc also goes to the thousands of families who have members working there. What makes you think that giving that entire amount to one single person is the ethically better choice?

    • @johnlawrence3170
      @johnlawrence3170 Месяц назад

      @@SohamBhattacharya3105 I can't speak toward the subjective discussion of ethics and morality. But I can say at least when I give it to the small luthier I know exactly where the money is going, vs not having a say who gets my $$ and how it is distributed within the larger company. Call it less about ethics and more about specific control over my money.
      I dont think there is necessarily a right or wrong answer here. But I will say, your argument could literally pertain to any major company. Should I choose to not eat at a local pizza shop because my money spent at Pizza Hut funds a company which employs thousands more people?
      And more importantly, this is all hypothetical nonsense anyway, if neither of us are actually choosing to spend our money on these guitars. One can argue over such silly things to no end, but I'd rather just play guitar. ;-)

    for those complaining about the price, might I recommend buying a well made guitar you can afford, and playing the hell out of it until it looks like one of these. like micro-transactions that increase rank, or player level in your favorite videogame, if you want the accolades on display signifying years of use and hard work, you’re gonna have to pay to skip the line. I’ll never be in a position to buy one of these, but their quality is massively apparent. give small builders like this your money instead of custom ordering from fender or gibson I say.
