Your reviews of Cervelo‘s Aspero and Time‘s ADHX are so amazing. How you describe your experiences and where these bikes are best at make me wanna buy both asap. I am tending to the Aspero as I have found a local shop offering it for 4k to me. Thanks a million for your honest reviews and sharing your experiences and the details about the adjustments you made.
I had the same exact conversation in my head during yesterday’s road ride on my ADH01! The geometry differs just enough to tip the scales in the favor of the ADH01 for pure road riding.
Nice to hear analysis about ADHX, the frame looks like a work of art, the quality really stands out. I'm considering between ADHX, Aspero, Cinelli's offerings or some titanium gravel/all road build myself.
@@AndyClarkRealReviews So turns out not only the best bikes come from former Czechoslovakia (Time and Festka) but now tires too...who would have known...
Thanks for the heads up on Tufos. I now need to decide between them and the Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H. I am really looking forward to the 23 ADH review. If the ADHX is so good the ADH must be insanely great.
I thought the power-transfer while climbing on my new ADHX was just my perception, thinking it was a placebo effect since I upgraded from an old steel frame (custom, and very nice, but WOW what an upgrade). But… yeah, that thing’ll climb all day long (ADH is in the name, after all). It feels like it torques into the road and springs.
@@AndyClarkRealReviews and also, the finishing with the visible weave and totally saturated colors is stunning. I got the Amber, looks like a space ship made out of hardened honey.
Can I ask why you opted for a zero setback post? and if you tried anything else? I currently have a 20 mm setback and 100 mm stem. I am considering swapping to a 0 setback and 110 mm stem to match my previous position that I found super comfortable. But because I have integrated cables its a bit of work and cost. While doing work I would probably also add another 1 cm spacer.
Moving the saddle forward with a zero-offset post puts a rider into a stronger climbing & attacking position, and likely fits into a fitter's know-your-client calculus. Testing a posts-only swap can offer an economical and probabilistic sense of the bike's fore-aft balance, ahead of a costlier stem [and guts] change.
Hey Andy, the review is finally up, one thing i'm really curious about and you didn't mention is the comparison with the road frame ADH, can you maybe give us a quick rundown on the major differences or similarities you can feel subjectively? like handling, on-road performance etc
I must agree with Willy here. Would love to know more about the road side of this bike. On the verge of replacing my road bike with this one, but dont want to lose too much on-road performance! :) (BMC Roadmachine 02)
@@AndyClarkRealReviews I guess what i or most of the people considering the ADHX is for its theoretical versatility that potentially could be used both road and light off-road, since most of us consider that it is the wheel&tire combo that makes the most difference in "going-fast" apart from the frameset itself; for me personally my dilemma is that i own a road bike which i love for the most part, and considering ADH, but it doesn't make a whole lot sense to own another similar climbing bike if it's purchased new, so that's why the consideration of ADHX comes in, anyway your review is definitely taken here, i guess the final weign-in needed to be done by ourselves. One last question, do you know anything about the ADH 2023 version more specifically about the tire clearance, it seems it was widened a little bit, i'm wondering if it's able to take a 28c tire on enve 3.4(2022 version) or not?
@@willyturing1803 according to this page www.enve.com/learn/tire-compatibility/ your wheels have a 25mm internal rim width. If that's the case, then I wouldn't recommend installing them on the ADH because (a) the outside of the rim will probably be too wide, and (b) a 28c tire will balloon up to 30-31, which from my experience will FIT but will rub the stays during hard efforts.

They recently released the adhx 45. Are both frames the same stiffness? Im trying to determine if they are both similar just the 45 is bigger spaces for tires.
I just got one! Review will be up next week, but yes - they’re nearly identical from a performance standpoint, I think the 45’s the most versatile bike they make now.
@@AndyClarkRealReviews thanks for the quick reply, I am right on the fence to buying one. Can't decide between the 2. What gives me the difficulty of choice is how they look.
Andy- love your stuff. I currently ride a Giant Defy and it fits great but is long in the tooth. I'm 64 and need that slightly relaxed geometry, but still want to go fast. It's not clear to me from the Time website that the ADHX is an endurance(ish) frame. What's your take??
Hey Scott! Thanks for the note. All three of the ADH models have pretty racy geometry, so my recommendation would be to size up one size to get a taller head tube. In my competitive cyclist days we called that the “French fit” which meant a taller head tube and less exposed seat post.
This is actually my favorite bar tape, and it never rains here so wet-weather grip isn't important to me. If I still lived in the south, I'd be on Deda padded foam tape 100%. Expensive bar tape isn't worth the extra flex to me - basic is best.
Andy, can you recommend a seat post for the ADH21? I ride road exclusively. Would the difference between an Ergon and Time RTM be noticeable for that usage? Thanks.
I ride 80road/20gravel. Coming off a Tarmac SL6, I'm struggling to choose between the ADHX or ADH23. I still love to go on fast group rides and occasional races/events with friends so leaning towards the ADH23. But the versatility of the riding I can do on the ADHX is too tempting. Confused... I am selling my SL6 and steel hard tail to move onto one of these bikes.
@@AndyClarkRealReviews not indeed. I am sold on the ADHX I don't think I am losing out on the frame/geometry for the occasional crit, it can be racy enough. Now if only someone would buy my bikes already... Thanks for your content. 👌
Hey Andy, do you know why none of the Time frames have UCI stickers? Is it just something they chose not to apply for, or is there something about the frames which does not fit the regs?
Do you have any experience or thoughts about migrating from a Domane to the ADHX? I am starting to venture into gravel and improve road performance. I am also considering Unbound 2024. Is the ADHX the one bike for it all or would I still need something like the ADHX 45 for tire clearance?
Hey! No, I don't have any experience with the Domane but the ADHX performs very VERY well as a road bike. For a race like Unbound, I would 100% NOT ride the ADHX. I'd choose the ADHX 45 with 40's because MUD clearance is an issue you'll usually face in Emporia.
Hi Andy, awesome review. I am 5'9" and could probably ride a small or a medium. Would you suggest riding a small with a longer stem or medium with a shorter stem? Would it be worth it to size up and get the longer wheelbase or stay with the small and get the lower stack with slightly shorter wheelbase?
@@AndyClarkRealReviews no problem, I was just wondering in general if it was a better idea for gravel riding to run the bigger frame for the stability vs the smaller frame with the shorter wheelbase... if a person could fit either size.
As someone who’s done thousands of bike fits in a previous life, my preference is to always ride the bike that fits your body - not the terrain or application. You’ll be much more comfortable and perform better on a bike that’s set up by a fitter

So i currently have a cervelo aspero and do love it but im looking for a bit more comfort because the cervelo is a bit in the harsh side do you feel this time adhx absorbs shatter better than a traditional frame like a cervelo? Thanks in advance and thanks for the review
Yes, absolutely. I tested the Aspero alongside the Time and the ADHX is definitely the smoother of the two - not by much - but it's noticeable. The addition of the Redshift stem and Ergon post help a LOT. Highly recommend both.
@@adamc2579 OK. So, from a fit perspective that's up to you to figure out - best thing is to put the geometry chart side by side with your current bike and see if you can make your current position work.
