    I'm 58 and lived here all my life and seen them opened up 2 different times durring floods. Also been inside the dam on school trip,turbine inside were awesome to see but scarey looking down on them at young age,lol

    We went yesterday but the lower road was closed by then. You did a good job taping this! I got some video from the overlook! And an interview with a native,who, it turns out, lives down the road from me in Seymour! Lol!

    WOW! Been talking to Heather, my daughter there. They are ok because in mtns but their water is out. They have electricity still, PTL. They are getting resourceful at getting water from a near creek for animals and cleaning.

And that being Lucifer was the most beautiful angel in heaven that rebelled against God and took 1/3 of the angels in Heaven with him. You call it nature, others call it an act of God. Either way are you really that shallow to not have faith in something you cannot see? I just don’t understand your way of thinking. 🤷‍♂️

      @@cathiwim we just went to Walmart to get some stuff to donate and they had ZERO bottled waters. We found some at the dollar tree. But it made me so happy to see our community coming together and buying stuff for nearby towns

    My friend lives on the lake, it is still rising and flooding their lower yard. Ya’ll pay attention to this!! They may have to flow more water down towards Knoxville.

    Norris Dam had all gates open several years ago. My dad and I went to it.

    8 of the 11 floodgates were open in 2013. I have never seen all 11.

    All the gates were open in the 80's at some point when the campground and parking lot were both under water

    Maybe they should open them up a lot more than they are since they are expecting the water to rise more than another 20 feet? They know.

    They could use all that water in Lake Powell, and eventually Lake Mead . Of course ( CALIFORNIA) would claim that it deserves to get most of it. The lawns in LA are so much more deserving of the water than any other potential user’s. But in all seriousness my prayers go out to all the people who have been affected by this storm. One of the things we haven’t been able to control yet is the weather. God Bless,and may you have as fast a recovery as possible.

      @@donnanorton4092 Yup, I used to live in Knoxville. I’m near Chattanooga now, so it’ll be flowing here as well. I’m really surprised that we haven’t flooded. Being in the river bend, we are prone to it. Hope you and yours are safe.

    It was either open her up or FLOOD the living daylights out of everyone along the Pigeon, Nolichucky and French Broad rivers. As it is, the businesses along Industrial Road just north of downtown Newport were flooded with about 5-6 feet of muddy brown water.

    It's Amazing that this is Not Muddy And Murky Like the 3 Flooded Rivers That Feed It Are....Bet All that Debris And logs Camper trailers and everything All the way From Spruce Pine Brevard And Canton NC Are either Behind at the bottom of That Dam or Settled into Douglas lake....No telling what is In the bottom of that lake and Behind that Dam Now😮

      the bottom of Douglas lake are old homes, they bought them to make a lake to save other areas down stream with the dam

      It isn’t town. It’s in Sevier County. Nearest city would be Dandridge or Sevierville.
