I don't know but, all I can say is that the Arctic Cat 2 seater runs 13,500 at Bass Pro Shops. The Can Am is sticker'd at 18k and the Polaris nips close to 20k. I'll take an Arctic Cat, plus it looks like it handles better. I don't need to be the fastest.
great visual test, all are great machines but after driving them I liked the maverick the best, in my opinion it had the nicest seats, and the suspension over all felt the best, but to say one is better than the other, I cannot do. all have something better than the other in one form or another.
Have drove all three and bought from a dealer who sells all 3 and the Polaris who has been doing these the longest is the best machine PERIOD. I ended up getting a 2015 new XP1000 with front and rear bumpers, aluminum roof, and rock guards for $19,000 out the door! The Wildcat is not bad for the price but you are paying less and getting less....nothing wrong with that. I did consider the CanAm for about the same price but after talking to the maintenance peeps at the dealership the CanAm is much harder to work on and even changing the oil and filter is a pain in the butt! All three nice machines, but the RZR is the best machine and 2 runs on the video up the dunes from different starting positions CLEARLY shows that!
Ya my favorite part of wild cat suspension is when it cant make it up a hill oh and that it loses every drag race because it is so slow. Gotta love control:)
Nice comparison, And all look to be nice machines. Miner things can be changed to set each up for yourself and for added performance if needed. I have an XP 900 and just love it, Great fun!!!!
Awesome video couple time the maverick guy was jumping the line. Decisions these days are getting stressful lol there all great machines. Which is good for us!!
Have to take the Arctic Cat. The magic is in the suspension and the rear of the Polaris spent have it's time in the air. Drag races can be fixed with power adders, suspension geometry is permanent.
Its too bad they didnt use the 2014 Wildcat. Would of liked to see what the new 90+hp version could do vs the Maverick and the RZR. The 2013 has 77hp if im correct. Awsome machines... Can't go wrong with either of them!!
great video.. can am and polaris def lead the way.. its nice to see that the mav hooks up better in teh dirt. the popo leads on the pavement.. and the extra hp the popo has.. is able to bring him up the hill ... awesome comparison.. to me the mav and xp.. r pretty much on the same level.
maverick's Visco lock system probably, on sand the tires would spin more and it would engage quicker giving you 4 wheel drive, on asphalt the fronts probably don't lose traction so you only get power to 3 wheels.
Def 3 sweet machines!!! To me it seemed like the Maverick was the roughest ride in the whoops sections compared to the Cat or XP1K...IMO. Im a BRP guy all the way but, that XP looks like it is a monster! Need to compare for myself...Thanks for the vid!
This was the most informative video I have ever seen. It cleared so many grey areas. Any chance of a utility similar vid coming any time soon. Oh and thank you very much !!!!..... Considering getting the Polaris Ranger 900 4 seater I currently have the Maverick 1000 for play.
after watching the vid again its seems the rzr1k has a lot of rear wheel hopping (bucking) through the whoop section in slow mo, watch how the rear tires are off the ground on all the whoops. for 21K I hope it gets better than that.
I have a can am commander (2014), not going to lie.. it could barely keep up at a dry lake bed to a full 4 seater XP 1000 (3 adults and 1 kid) pinned out, it was pretty embarrassing.
Jimmy Limbaugh oh so instead of him giving factual info you would prefer him to lie. Well I had 4 full coolers on my mav and I was dragging about 450 lbs of scrap metal and still beat the rzr with a turbo in the qtr mile
Considering the polaris has 2" taller tires it does quite well. A lot more weight to turn there. 1 pound of rotating mass equals 7 pounds of weight if it were just on the machine.
My rzr 900 tops out at 73mph maybe a little more with a new belt on it, the rzr1k will touch just over 80mph. The rzr s 800 will run mid 60's. Next year all the rzrs will look like the 1000 the new frame is so much better than the old frame design.
The polaris makes the most power, has the best AWD system, weighs the least, has walker-evans needles suspension (best fucking suspension on planet Earth) and has INSANE suspension travel.
Josh dmchvac you believe everything you see on a dyno, your a fool. I can make that screen read whatever I want....also 109hp at the crank, not the tires
Clearly the XP 1000 is faster the the other two but not by much especially in off road conditions. You need a Hans device when you drive the XP, it is so violent. The Wildcat X is clearly the superior machine when it comes to the handling department and that's why I buy Arctic Cat machines. I can make up the power but the XP can't fix a broken neck! LOL
30spooln Have you ever seen an Artic Cat make a podium finish in a desert race. No. They’ll be lucky to even finish one lmao! Polaris always makes a podium finish and there’s a reason why, they are far better.
That really showed which one had the most power. The other 2 couldn't even make it. They're all fast, all top out at well over 70 mph but the rzr clearly has the most torque because that's what you need to climb a steep hill like that. In the end, you really can't go wrong with any of them but I give a slight edge to the 1000 xp if I were to pick one to buy if I had 20 K to spend on a toy, lol.
I guess you missed where the Maverick was right on its heels every time the Polaris won, then dominated it in the sand and especially on the hill climb.
I cant wait to ride with someone who has a rzr1k. see if its worth the 21k, its power to weight ratio is more than the XP 900 by .5 lbs. want to see it on the trails.
I wonder why on asphalt the rzr wins the drag race but on dirt the mav wins the drag races and the lead that the rzr had on the cat is all but wiped out? yes the last race up the dune the mav jumped just a bit, but that doesn't matter cuz that's the most inaccurate way to race cuz there are so many variables. the rzr has to slow down or let off the gas cuz the ride wont let it maintain speed through the whoops section. very interesting, thanks for the comparison.
every been out with people in a wildcat? we were with some and I have to say, in the mud wow they lacked, it was too low, also they were COVERED in mud vs me and wife (in a 2013 900XP) of course, might had something to do with being behind all the time lol
Had a wild cat super cool but drive train is weak needs better axles the clutches are junk I broke 2 axles in 50 hours one was going 50 on a flAt gravel road sold it at 100 hours got a new maverick way better
I think im gonna just build my own offroad machine. They cost so much plus I've got my own idea on how I would want mine too look. its gonna have the articat width and travel but is gonna have some kind of small car engine that is got decent power and instead of a side x side im gonna make it sit some what like an apache helicopter so its not to wide cause I plan to make plenty of room for me and a second person.
man... im going to have to go with wildcat on the whoops.. I own a rzr xp1k and from this video the wildcat looks like it takes the suspension medal but ya for speed... my xp wins =)
hands down the cat has the best suspension and handling . you sit lower giving you a more stable feel I'm sad they come up about 10 hp short although 2016 has a better build and clutch set up. if you wa t to be fastest and money isn't the issue 2017 wildcat (supercharged) 150 plus hp . or if you have one just call up speedwerx supercharger kit for 6k
All absolutely killer rigs!!!
Man this is one of the better shootouts, nice job on the drag racing videos, great to see the hill climbs also.
The best comparison I've seen for any atv. I'd take any of them. But if I could choose it would be the RZR
Thanks guys for putting together the real world raw comparison of the top line machines.
great visual test, all are great machines but after driving them I liked the maverick the best, in my opinion it had the nicest seats, and the suspension over all felt the best, but to say one is better than the other, I cannot do. all have something better than the other in one form or another.

best comparison of these three to date. very equal and fair. good job.
Great job. Awesome to see such efforts put into a real comparison. Thank you!
It seemed to me that the Wild Cat had the best suspension of the bunch. Most controlled over rough terrain. Just needs a bit more Jam.
Ya my favorite part of wild cat suspension is when it cant make it up a hill oh and that it loses every drag race because it is so slow. Gotta love control:)
i think they left the XP suspension alone, and like my XP900, from factory they're just too stiff, had they softened it up, it would have done better,
Nice comparison, And all look to be nice machines. Miner things can be changed to set each up for yourself and for added performance if needed. I have an XP 900 and just love it, Great fun!!!!
Great visual comparison! Buying a Maverick Max for the family.
Side x side, side x side
Good job guys I just purchased my rzr and it feels good that it's on top. Thanks
No the wild cat is better it's not about rockin speed it's about climbing
Great job on the tests and video
3 great machines to play with
is the new artic cat x and can am 2013-2014 is the same
I'm very happy to see the Mav win the 300' and 1/4 mile dirt races!
Awesome video couple time the maverick guy was jumping the line. Decisions these days are getting stressful lol there all great machines. Which is good for us!!
Great comparison! That 1000 XP really blows the doors off everything when it came to the hill climb. WOW!
Have to take the Arctic Cat. The magic is in the suspension and the rear of the Polaris spent have it's time in the air. Drag races can be fixed with power adders, suspension geometry is permanent.
Very nice Video, noticed the XP1000 rear rebounds aggressively.
Also in hill climb the bigger tires seem to give an advantage on the wet hill/dune.
The wildcat is my favourite
Another awesome vid of the rzr 1000
It was good of u guys to pay some respect to Yamaha for bringing the sport side by side into the world. I'm a RZR kinda guy tho
Great comparison video
why cant there be more videos like this that can clearly show each machines pros and cons Thanks for the vid very good info i got from this.
Just what was expected that extra 6-hp on the XP really shined though.Id love to see an equal hp Maverick or Wildcat run against the XP though.
Its too bad they didnt use the 2014 Wildcat. Would of liked to see what the new 90+hp version could do vs the Maverick and the RZR. The 2013 has 77hp if im correct. Awsome machines... Can't go wrong with either of them!!
yeah wildcat x greetings from germany
Hallo
looks like the wildcat has the best suspension
great video.. can am and polaris def lead the way.. its nice to see that the mav hooks up better in teh dirt. the popo leads on the pavement.. and the extra hp the popo has.. is able to bring him up the hill ... awesome comparison.. to me the mav and xp.. r pretty much on the same level.

I suppose so, perhaps the other 2 were hitting the rev limiter as well and the 1000 XP is allowed to rev a little higher.
The one that I own seems to hop around in the rear end more than the others. Hmmm.
CAT SUSPENSION RULES ALL!!!
sooo, as close as these things perform which unit requires the least amount of maintenance and is the most reliable. Theres your bottom line.
Great job on the video
after watching the vid again its seems the rzr1k has a lot of rear wheel hopping (bucking) through the whoop section in slow mo, watch how the rear tires are off the ground on all the whoops. for 21K I hope it gets better than that.
I have a can am commander (2014), not going to lie.. it could barely keep up at a dry lake bed to a full 4 seater XP 1000 (3 adults and 1 kid) pinned out, it was pretty embarrassing.
The commander is more utility and the rzr is more sport though.
I don't really understand why you are talking down a vehicle that you bought.
Travis Pruckno Jimmy Limbaugh I know, i was just talking about what happened haha, no down talks here!
Jimmy Limbaugh oh so instead of him giving factual info you would prefer him to lie. Well I had 4 full coolers on my mav and I was dragging about 450 lbs of scrap metal and still beat the rzr with a turbo in the qtr mile
+Tyler Christiansen ya, well, he said he doesn't have the maverick. he has the commander... which is a utility vehicle not designed for high speed.
Considering the polaris has 2" taller tires it does quite well. A lot more weight to turn there. 1 pound of rotating mass equals 7 pounds of weight if it were just on the machine.
that RZR is sick...want one now!
What's the top speed on these? I rode my friends 800 Polaris quad 4x4 and it maxed out at 80 mph (or km/h)
My rzr 900 tops out at 73mph maybe a little more with a new belt on it, the rzr1k will touch just over 80mph. The rzr s 800 will run mid 60's. Next year all the rzrs will look like the 1000 the new frame is so much better than the old frame design.
you cant really go by the hill climb if the Polaris comes stock with 29inch big horns.
Great video!! Exactly what I have been wanting to see!!
Im surprised the rzr shocks did not bend in on the whoops.
three great machines!
you could always adjust suspension wouldn't that help?
Good fair video. Nicely done. Keep it up.
BloodstainedSinner good luck getting that diff. To hold that power, as well as the trans, better just swap engines completely
The Cat deserves a better driver
Great video guys, the view count reflects that!
Nice video!
Polaris got pretty squirrelly in the whoops but has the best power to weight and best bang for your buck for sure.
I would give up a can am for any POS rzr or wild kitty.
@@SVTsupercharged the wildcat xx has won its fair share.
Good video and nice comparison, Although I would almost consider FL350 or FL400 as the originals. Especially when it comes to the sport segment.
That really showed which one had the most power. The other 2 couldn't even make it. They're all fast, all top out at well over 70 mph but the rzr clearly has the most torque because that's what you need to climb a steep hill like that. the only thing going for the wildcat it seems is the suspension.....it really took the bumps better than the other 2
same
Thank you for doing these videos! We're all of the tire pressures the same in each test?
Polaris seems to be the winner here. Where are all the Can Am fandoys at?
I guess you missed where the Maverick was right on its heels every time the Polaris won, then dominated it in the sand and especially on the hill climb.
It's just to bad that canam can't pass a badass rzr 1k
They are in the future! 2018 and where does the Polaris stand now? In the dust!
Im here boi
How long do the can am engines last miles?
thank you awesome video
Great video polaris for life
Maverick won the majority of the dirt drags
Wrong.....
nice comparison, love it!
great video thanks!
simple suspension adjustments will fix that, or get ELKA shocks
The Arctic Cat looks like a lawnmower with big ears from the front. I'll take the Polaris!
The wildcat is the best looking one
how come you guys were so slow in the sand
when i brought my maverick to glamis its was fine on stoxk wheels no paddles
They all performed excellent, but the only one that really has a flat(ish) torque curve was the XP, which proved useful up that last hill.
I cant wait to ride with someone who has a rzr1k. see if its worth the 21k, its power to weight ratio is more than the XP 900 by .5 lbs. want to see it on the trails.
Is that
IamWildCat???
awesome shoot out , the Polaris suspension needs a lot of rebound tuning but thats me , also were you guys in 4WD on the sand drags?
I wonder why on asphalt the rzr wins the drag race but on dirt the mav wins the drag races and the lead that the rzr had on the cat is all but wiped out? yes the last race up the dune the mav jumped just a bit, but that doesn't matter cuz that's the most inaccurate way to race cuz there are so many variables. the rzr has to slow down or let off the gas cuz the ride wont let it maintain speed through the whoops section. very interesting, thanks for the comparison.
it doesnt have to do with just torque also, you have to look at gear ratio, clutch set up.
Was y'all in high or low on the hill climb?
maverick kicks ass for the price compared to xp1000
Arctic cat is the best in my opinion
every been out with people in a wildcat? we were with some and I have to say, in the mud wow they lacked, it was too low, also they were COVERED in mud vs me and wife (in a 2013 900XP) of course, might had something to do with being behind all the time lol
Mr. Bona,
The Pilot was not a "side by side". Single seat denotes that two people are not sitting "side by side".
All tires were running 9lbs of pressure.
Very cool!
I'd still pick the cat, I'd take slightly slower but better handling anyday
Nothing a turbo can't fix
That's because 95% of UTV owners have a RZR, 3% are chinese brands, and 1% are can ams, and .01% are wildcats... lol
Not to mention, price points. You get so much more for a better price. I still dont understand all the hate for the Cats.
Tofutaco11 Do you know why? 95% of people that own UTV’s own Polaris Rzr’s, not Can Am Mavericks or other brands...
Had a wild cat super cool but drive train is weak needs better axles the clutches are junk I broke 2 axles in 50 hours one was going 50 on a flAt gravel road sold it at 100 hours got a new maverick way better
I need a video just like this but for 2018
I think im gonna just build my own offroad machine.
I do think the wildcat needs at least over 100hp for its weight.
Great vid, but the one who started all this was john deere gator
someone you loved
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! wildcat out 4:22!!!!!!!!!! Rzr be climbin them hills!
idk bout you but to me it looked like the xp was bucking more
your commander has a governor break in period.. it won't be full throttle until you have 25 hours on it
might wanna adjust that rzr suspension tho lol
Waiting for the Polaris RZR XP1K4!
man... im going to have to go with wildcat on the whoops.. I own a rzr xp1k and from this video the wildcat looks like it takes the suspension medal but ya for speed... my xp wins =)
Can Am looked like it handled the whoops the best
hands down the cat has the best suspension and handling . you sit lower giving you a more stable feel I'm sad they come up about 10 hp short although 2016 has a better build and clutch set up. if you wa t to be fastest and money isn't the issue 2017 wildcat (supercharged) 150 plus hp . or if you have one just call up speedwerx supercharger kit for 6k
jacob c If you want to be the fastest it's the Yamaha with a turbo, over 300hp now.
Nah not 300 and you have to shift so you won't be the fastest
Georgian Outlaw Sorry you're correct, 380 now🖒
I like all of them there all fast and fun altho it dident have the acceleration the polaris by far has the fastest top end
Dont care what anyone says. Can-Am is still the better brand!
Wildcat handles the best but is the slowest
Not much slower
