Gouache Rocks! It makes it so much easier than having to mask like daisies flowers in a dark background you can just paint on the daisies are the lighter color flowers without having to go through all that masking process gouache is amazing I just love the actual depth of the color it's just amazing and so much fun to work with❤

I bought some gouache colours some weeks ago to celebrate that I passed my law exam. This is something I really enjoyed, and even if watercolour has been my go to, I have now found a new love (, the only struggle I had was making the brush strokes, because my kitten thought the brushes were her new play things). / Scandinavian

I never thought this to be true being a lover of watercolour, but gouache is indeed the Best. ❤️ I bought a few Holbein tubes and the Himi Miya jelly, oh my I Love love love it.
My hideous art looks was better in gouache than watercolour. I lay base colours and/or subsequent layers in watercolour and then make it yummy with the final layer in gouache.
It could be a function of my cheap brushes or my cellulose paper but my watered down gouache looks patchy and streaky hence I use watercolour for that.
Maybe I love it also because the jelly cups look like dessert 🤣.
I am still learning the right water to pigment ratio for the gouache though. Will come with practice.

Hello there! I've been - into art for many years and have had what I would call a little natural talent that has impressed people who don't know what they're doing or what they're seeing but does not get me by real artists so in the last 8 to 10 months, I've been trying to kick myself into gear and I'm really making the effort to learn about different mediums, what they are useful for, and the strengths and weaknesses as well. I started watercolor painting several months ago and indeed, watercolor "purists" tend to really bash gouache. I happened into it rather accidentally really - sort of. I purchased Paul Rubens Opera (neon) set of 14 colors. They're all beautiful but don't always show up how I want them to. Going against the purists, I started mixing in white with some of these colors; especially when using my black Stonehenge paper and OH MY GOODNESS what a difference. It took me from frustrated (which is code for I wasn't doing watercolor correctly I suppose) to actually enjoying myself very quickly. I understand, I think, that gouache isn't just white paint added to watercolor, so I'm here on your channel to get a better understanding of what it is, how to do it and how I can incorporate into my need to create pretty (or scary!) things. ♥ Thank you for your video! :)

You can layer this paint without pulling up colors underneath. I love the consistency of these paints. You can layer them light on dark colors or dark on light colors. They dry with a flat finish.
