  • Harleys can't not have highway pegs! Somehow I have been rolling around on my ‪@harleydavidson‬ Road Glide for the last few months without highway pegs, and I finally get around to solving that. For the first time ever, I event went with mini boards! Let's also talk about why sometimes OEM parts are best, and Harleys stuff is the best around. #harleydavidson #roadglide #footcontrols #promonkeynation #sturgis #daytona #streetglide #roadking #electraglide #biker #motorcycle #touringmotorcycle #chopper #advanblack #oemparts

My first mini boards on my old Suzuki C50 were Kuryakyn Iso Wings and pullback mounts...you are 100% correct, the Harley mounts I have now are SO much better. I have exactly what you have now, but mine are black, and I picked them up when I picked up the bike because Highway pegs are a MUST! I also prefer the heel shifter and I can pull my boot from the highway peg and drop my heel on the shifter and away we go!

I use Harley mounts for better quality but got Amazon special foot pegs to save a little coin. $40 better than $140 by my math. Work the same and no critical bolts stripping. And you’re 1000% correct about those damn D rings. I use an Philips screwdriver shaft to line everything up and then wedge while pulling. Seems to work.

Just scored a set of these from eBay, the long reach ones but with the old school rubber foot pegs. Unmarked condition, the seller took them off of his brand new bike as he didn't like the look and said he'd never use them. Total cost delivered .... £6.19 here in the UK. About $8.00! I think I got a bargain! lol Love the channel, enjoy Sturgis and stay safe.

They look great. First long distance ride (3000 mile round trip), I made the most newbie mistake. I had mid-controls and installed forward controls. I removed the mid-control pegs. No floor boards on the bike. After riding for several hours with just one position for my legs, it got old fast. I was young and managed it but what a learning experience.

I did the kuryaken mounts with some Willie G pegs on my road glide just the other day. So far happy with the amount of adjustability. But that plus is also a pain in the ass finding that sweet spot. I know, I know…coulda bought cheaper aftermarket but can’t always guarantee the quality that you’re going to get. With Harley, you know you’re going to have decent quality. Might not be indestructible but I need them to last till I decide that I want to change them again

Bugs, West of El Paso on I-10, hit in the head and almost knocked off my bike. Pulled over to look at my helmet. There was this green/yellow goo. Started at the top of the visor and went over and halfway down the back of the helmet. In a fan like a shotgun blast, 6 inches wide at the end. Helmets are good for bug avoidance. The goo was all that was left, never did find out what kind of bug.

I see you are putting the position of the peg in the front of the crash bar. Would it not be better to stretch out your legs to put peg on the front side of bar? The close proximity to the floorboards doesn't seem to be much of a difference if you are looking for long range comfort. Just asking because I never use pegs and would like to try them. I just don't feel the same secure seat that I get with my feet on the floorboards.
