      Food guilt will pass...honestly it is just because of how food is perceived. I was so hungry all the time after a few months it slowed down I swear you will feel better. It is odd I really had a hard time with food guilt I was having bad dreams and honestly haven't gained any weight or lost any. I am still trying to find my way here its a awesome thing. ❤ Remember to love yourself first. I had had a hard time with anorexia and then bulimia for a long time I felt like crap then no matter how little I ate I was still gaining. Now I love myself...I am a queen sized now lol but I love me and my body. I am telling you it will be ok. No guilt and just want to be healthy happy no matter my pants size. Still learning my hunger cues no more crying about me...I love to work out so I stared that it's super fun I love it. Working on being the best version of me ❤.

    Tonight I had a bowl 🥣 of Greek yogurt. I added a whole banana, pecans, a drizzle of peanut butter, sprinkle of cinnamon, and added some dark chocolate chips. I measured with my heart what felt good and was satisfying. Not with my judgements/ criticisms or guilt. I ate the amount and the ingredients that were satisfying to my body. And it feels so good! It’s such a breakthrough for me. I’m going through a very difficult season of life. I really needed this “win” today. I truly couldn’t have done this without your help!!

    im 13 and late last year i struggled with anorexia. around the beginning of my recovery journey i found you on tiktok and i just want to tell you that you’ve really helped me separate from diet culture and understand that it’s okay to be hungry and it’s okay to listen to my body when it tells me it needs food, even after i’ve already eaten, ive eaten a lot today/yesterday, and even when i feel like i haven’t been eating very healthy. ive been a lot happier and have noticed substantially more energy, optimism, and a better zest for life. thank you so much for your work and i needed to let you know you’ve made a significant impact on my life! keep doing what you do and the world needs more people like you 💗

    HI, I recently found your channel and it has really helped me feel more comfortable eating what I am able to. I have multiple chronic illnesses and some days can only cope with certain foods. But when I can I try to eat a reasonably balanced diet. Your channel has helped me feel more at ease with the fact that some days all I have the capacity is a plate of beans on toast and an apple and other days I can eat a reasonable amount of varied food. I have always really enjoyed cooking as well but I haven't always had the best relationship with food because one of my symptoms is major weight fluctuations. Thank you for helping me to feel more comfortable to eat what I can when I can. If that means not eating much or eating only certain food types on a day when I have a flare, and then eating a bit more the next when I can both make and eat more variety it is ok.

    I loved this video ♥️ I gained 5 pounds this winter and it’s been stressing me out because when this happens I get scared I’m going to just keep gaining until I’m back at the weight I used to be where I didn’t feel good mentally or physically. In reality I’m not ganna just gain 64 pounds when working out and eating healthy but I still get scared. So this was a good reminder that I can eat a little more on days I feel more hungry and I won’t gain a ton of weight Or probably any weight because my body clearly needed more food or it wouldn’t be so hungry.

    • @ColleenChristensen
      @ColleenChristensen  Год назад +5

      Glad you found this video helpful! Just remember your set point weight (or weight your body feels best at) is a range. You will fluctuate daily and that is OK! I suggest trying not to weigh yourself if possible. (If you aren't ready for that step yet, that's ok too!) Try to go by how your body feels. 100%, your body's needs differ from day to day. Happy this vid gave you some encouragment!❤

    Hi! I actually think your Videos are inspiring and entertaining at the same time. However I‘m wondering: why is there always a cut before you swallow? All I see is you putting food in your mouth and cut, another spoon in and cut. I have had an eating disorder and not swallowing food is quite common. I think, eating in videos is not only putting it in your mouth and maybe chewing on it(that is where most videos stop), but actually swallowing it. Just a thought. Have a great day and thanks for helping so many…

    Hi Colleen, I'd like to ask for your take on something. Do you happen to have any experience with gastritis? My doctor diagnosed me with that in the beginning of the month. Not the bacterial kind but caused by antibiotics and stress. I am on medication for that (protein pump inhibitor) and I am back to being able to eat almost everything I want. The thing is, my hunger and fullness feelings are completely messed up. I can go from feeling stuffed to starving and back in less than half a minute. For a significant portion of the day I feel like I'm hungry, but not really, but I need something in my stomach to feel better. Last week I was constantly snacking on something during work without ever knowing if I feel hungry or full or whatever. That has allready gone down but the constant feeling of not knowing what to feel in my stomach is really messing with my head. This happens with everything not just a specific food group. Carbs, protein, fats, pasta, meat, cake, fruit, veggies, chocolate, cookies, rice, potatoes, highly processed or minimally processed, there doesn't seem to be a pattern. I would greatly apreciate it if you could point me in the direction of some material that explains this and how to handle it.

    • @ColleenChristensen
      @ColleenChristensen  Год назад

      Hey! Everyone is totally different but I get stress stomach aches! This can 10000% throw off your hunger and fullness cues and you might need to rely more on what I call "practical hunger" at that time which essentially is knowing what your body needs VS following physical cues. We go over this stuff in detail in the app. It's always a good idea to chat more with your doctor for specific medical needs! Hope that is a bit helpful!

      @lyndsaymoehrman Год назад +1

      Everything you just described is very normal with gastritis and or stomach ulcer recovery. Im currently healing from both and have in the past before. The meds can throw everything off, plus the hunger changes are normal. Or I will feel hungry, and then have pain moments later, before I can even eat anything. I have to snack here and there just to settle my stomach. Gaviscon and Gas x helps a lot, it’s safe to take with the PPI. Have they given you Carafate? It helps too.
      Hope you feel better and things get back to normal soon as well.

    We dont feed our dog peanut butter, but if we dare have popcorn without sharing, he will cry, plead, beg, and put his gigantic freaking paw on us. (Hes half piranese). I think he likes the salt, because he also likes tortilla chips. But popcorn is his favorite. My parents have had to lock him out of their room so that they can enjoy their popcorn

      in every video i have seen she does not swallow the food on camera. she cuts the video so you never see her swallow so we dont know how much of it she actually eats.
      She had anorexia/exercise-addiction so she also may still be over-exercising or not fully recovered. its an illness so there are relapses.
      she may not be fully honest with her recovery. in her recent shorts shes looking noticeably thinner/tired and i am worried.
      tldr social media is not 100% accurate to real life. the things she says are usually sound but she may not be being honest about her own recovery or if shes relapsed. off camera we do not know what happens. try not to judge yourself based on her body and on these videos because she may not be fully recovered from her disorder and may not be portraying what she actually eats or how much she exercises afterwards accurately ❤

      @thatNPC1 3 месяца назад

      @breathedarlingokay you said that she looks tired more often and thinner but i feel like that could be from other factors. maybe she’s got a stressful job or can’t get enough sleep for whatever reason. also for her recovery, she has been a dietitian for quite some time now so how has she not been recovered and gaining some weight back by now? idk maybe she’s just exercises excessively but yeah in general there are a lot of factors to consider

      @@ColleenChristensen yep! just don't add any pieces of pineapple to it, it pretty much ruins the texture (learned that the hard way..) just strain the juice out and use that. don't worry if it doesn't fill it up all the way or anything, it'll fluff up a ton!

      I do it with canned pineapple and it's actually great. Use the sorbet setting. You can do any canned fruit - mango is also great. I was actually more impressed with how well it does fruit sorbet than ice cream.

      Meal planning sounds intimidating at first, but take it slow. It makes life so much easier when you get the hang of it! Start by making a list of the foods you do enjoy on a daily/weekly basis. Then, try to add some carbs, fat , and protein to each meal. But most importantly, make sure it is satisfying to YOU! It'll take a little trial and error but experiment with different foods you feel comfortable with at first. You got this!❤
