Nice! We just put a turbo 400 in ours too. We had a ford C4 before we have an old 1990s Mustang 5.0 engine we toasted the transmission in the californa 300.
Great video. I would suggest not using the crankshaft adapter and instead getting the correct converter with the proper extended snout. I ran a very similiar setup to what your doing and it eventually after 3 years took out the thrust bearing in the LS engine. The adaptors doesn't allow the converter to float as much as it should and ends up pushing the crankshaft forward way more than it should. I had to replace the crank and block.
How are you setting up the efi system for this? Are you using the factory system? Trying to determine how to setup with out an electronic connection to the transmission
The TH400 is completely independent of the ECU. Not a single wire goes to this transmission. Simplifies the operation. I do need to get a good solution to rear trans fluid temp. Thanks for watching.
Hey there! I’m not familiar with this channel but I’ve noticed you’ve posted in the FSJ group on Facebook before. Would this also work for the original TH400 that came behind the 360? I have a free lm7 and trying to figure out if that is an option or finding a 4l60e. Everyone in my area thinks a 4l60 is work gold for some reason.
My experience was questionable reliability. I will caveat that with saying that we used questionable gear boxes, but we would lose gears or the ability to sport shift. For racing I really wanted to eliminate things that I could not control, so a TH400 with manual valve body works better for us. I think day to day driving would be much better with a 6L90.
@ntdracing thank you for the reply opportunity, and yes, when I was truck pulling th400 was great to have the the 6.0l and 6l90 I wanted to install to my street square body chevy is the cruisers just to have fun. Happy new year
@OMRY1561 - 4 min ago Hi nice video Great information I have 1967 cadillc th400 and 429 engine Do I need any adapter if i install 350 It1 gen2 to the th400 thank you
Not sure. Few years ago I ran into a problem with a TH400 that did not fit onto anything. Almost could not give it away. Hope you do not have the same problem. Good luck.

The Cali 300 killed our 6L90 too.

Can you link a converter?
Exactly how I would've done it. Nice work!
Nice details bro!!🔥🔥🔥🔥 Do you have pics of your engine stand and that transmission holder? I would love to build them!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Did u put a restrictor in your transmission considering u doing a Ls engine
How do I find your Amazon link? I couldn’t find it on your webpage. Thank you!
What dust cover do you use 👍🇦🇺

@@Grant.Tatum98 Yes the TH400 will work behind the LM7. I have another video dedicated to hooking up the Winters shifter too. Thanks for watching.

What was the main problem with 6l90e that you did not like?

Did not show us what flywheel or adapter you used
Yes he did....in depth.
Alright I seen it. When I seen the transmission bolted to the engine I thought he skipped it all so I backed out of it lo, I appreciate it
