I have played this song every single year for the past 6 years on December 31st at exactly 11:59pm. Still kicking on in 2021 to the best creed song ever made 🤘🏽
Being bullied a lot in school this was my favorite song. It seemed to describe my situation perfectly. Because they would throw stuff at me but when it actually came to talking shit about me they would never get the balls to say it to my face. I love this song.
Shit I know this is 11 years ago, but it sucks knowing that there will always be people like that. But as you said, most people don’t have the balls to say it face to face. It even continues through to adulthood within workplaces.
The Adventures of Creed! Scott Stapp and his warrior companions thwarting evil and saving the Earth, while unleashing a reign of obliterating heavy metal!!! I'd totally watch that.
I’m over here putting together a 2000-2005 playlist on Spotify of just absolutely everything I loved (I’m 33 those 5 years were prime especially for rock/metal) and I was like “lol let me look Creed up”. Their popular tracks were late 90s but I saw this album cover, saw the track Bullets and instantly remembered back when I heard it I thought it was a standout track for Creed. It’s been 20 years (WHERE DID THE TIME GO) since I listened to this song and OH MY GOD. I appreciate it so much more now. Probably one of the best rock songs to age and still pack a punch in 20+ years later. Holy shit not even related to Creed this is just HEAVY! Shame not enough people heard this one. Btw I’m a fan of bands like Attila, Emmure, Gideon etc so when I say “heavy” that’s my preferred kind of “heavy” and I will absolutely admit this CREED track is heavy af!
I agree, it kinda sucks they went Christian honestly, because the band really had a talent for this genre. I mean it's not just the guitar, the whole band went in on this one. Hands down this is my favorite Creed song.
Creed is often labeled a Christian rock band due to the fact that all their albums focus on questions of faith, Christianity, and eternity. The band was never signed to a contemporary Christian music label, nor did it perform in Christian music venues or get any widespread regular play on Christian radio. However, the band's name itself refers to the religious concept of a creed.
They've explicitly denied being a christian rock band in several interviews as well....which is an odd cognitive dissonance considering how overtly christian their lyrics often are. Religious overtones and self denial aside, I still dig some of their music.
They didn't want to be stuck in one genre and they wanted to also show that you don't have to be a Christian group just to have positive lyrics and be a positive influence. They also as a band had a bunch of mixed beliefs and didn't want public scrutiny on that which as everyone knows if you are in the public eye very little is private and if you are to depict one thing and something is the slightest bit wrong you are the worst thing compared to regular people. Rock bands not in the Christian arena are just known for certain behavior so are often ignored unless it is serious. I think they let their listeners take it the way they want. I love a lot of their music and even used "With Arms Wide Open" at our children's baptism ceremony.
stiimuli At the time that Creed were appearing on the charts, "Christian Rock" was a sort of movement on its own. They weren't part of that, although they do share certain aspects. Their denial was toward being part of that mass of rock-edged gospel, essentially, that was saturating the market in the late '90s and early aughts.
So true Sam Miller. The thing I also later learned is some of the band members were still not at that stage in their walk to feel comfortable to claim to be Christian. This is also what kind of separates them from say Skillet who does share their faith but you couldn't tell from their fans and their ranks among regular rock bands.
This music video has no business being as cool as it is. This is the most metal shit I've seen all year, and I've seen some shit this year boys and girls.

This song is good because Creed has such a strong message to deliver through their videos and music. This one in particular catches my attention because I think it's aggressive in the most inviting way, humans are very sociable creatures! Music is the best way to communicate your emotions. This song is great for that.
+Djlullaby22 It's true, I can't stand Creed (mostly just Scott Stapp, heh), and I absolutely love this song. Mind you, the rest of the band would blow it out of the water with Alter Bridge's Cry of Achilles, but still, I have to give credit where it's due, this is an overall great song!

Walking around I hear the Earth seeking relief
I'm trying to find a reason to live
But the mindless clutter my path
Oh these thorns in my side
Oh these thorns in my side
I know I have something free
I have something so alive
I think they shoot ‘cause they want it
I think they shoot ‘cause they want it
I think they shoot ‘cause they want it
I feel forces all around me
Come on raise your head
Those who hide behind the shadows
Live with all that's dead
Look at me, look at me,
Look at me (At least look at me when you shoot a bullet)
(Through my head, through my head, through my head)
In my lifetime when I'm disgraced
Jealousy and lies
I laugh aloud ‘cause my life
Has gotten inside someone elses mind
Look at me, look at me,
Look at me (At least look at me when you shoot a bullet)
(Through my head, through my head, through my head)
Hey all I want is what's real
Something I touch and can feel
I'll hold it close and never let it go
Said why, why do we live life
With all this hate inside
I'll give it away ‘cause I don't want it no more
Please help me find a place
Somewhere far away
Yes, I'll go and you'll never see me again
Look at me,
Look at me (At least look at me when you shoot a bullet)
(Through my head, through my head, through my head)
Look at me,
Look at me (At least look at me when you shoot a bullet)
(Through my head, through my head, through my head)
Look at me
