@@DodgyDaveGTXnah but i get what you mean, this is not the type of build up that REALLY gets me. I'm talking like a build up before the awesome drop like from Freedom and Bullet In The Head's last parts. Now that is real.
My older sister got me into Korn when they came out. She is only a year older than me. But as a bass player...she showed me mainly to listen to fieldy be stupidly unique and talented. And I've loved them ever since. Jonathan Davis is and always be one of my favorite and most respected vocalists. His lyrics hit so close to home for me that its almost unbearably difficult to listen to someone as tormented as he is because I'm in the same place...but also the most therapeutic lyrics I've heard. Music is honestly the only shit that makes me feel better and not completely alone like I always do. Got me through some seriously nightmarish times. And I'm so grateful he is brave enough to sing the lyrics he does so openly and honestly because I have a very hard time putting my feelings into words. And I dont have to since Jonathan's lyrics came into my life. He says it all for me. 🖤
I had to have been 13 years old, and my father took our family out to buy CDs, one for each of us. I had no interest in buying anything, but then I saw KoRn's "Freak on a Leash" on the shelves and liked the cover, so picked it. My dad popped the song in the cd player (adapted to play on the casette tape player in the car), and suddenly 2:38 as we drove home. I became a fan, and bought their other CDs until I moved on to different music, but I've always enjoyed them.
I didnt listen to Korn or metal for the last 15 years. Now I cannot stop listining! System of a Down, Slipknot, Metallica, Deftones, Godsmack damn what did I miss them.. But Korn was by far my favorite. Hopefully they come to the netherland next year. I will buy tickets right away. These guys are legends!

Best part of the song is after the beatboxing when the chorus comes back, but way fucking heavier. Some of the most crushing riffs I’ve heard, and I’m a huge deathcore fan.
@@MrSuzukikevin95 I legitimately think that it is the best metal breakdown of all time. Unique, and just stupidly heavy with that chromatic riff. No song has ever made me feel like I did the first time I heard that "GO!" in my entire life. Not death metal, not thrash, not metalcore, not industrial, whatever. Pure chills, and I have never gotten even remotely tired of hearing it.

Korn, tool, RATM, pearl jam, stp, Alice in chains, sound garden, Pantera, deftones, mm, etc., the list of phenomenal music in this era will never be replicated. Those who lived through this era were blessed with some of the best music ever. Amazing times!!!!
Joshua Santana I just imagined a group of finely dressed people (the men wearing tuxedos and monocles, and the women wearing dresses and pearl necklaces) eating hors d’oeuvres and scones. To top it all off, they’re drinking the finest wine or champagne, and the whole time, this song is playing.
Took my daughter to see Korn for her high school graduation present 3 years ago and now shes married and moved away. I miss her blasting her music and just the little moments spent together. Ahhhh....yes, they do grow up fast.
I was a kid when this music video came out and it had such a profound impact on me. I remember being like 8 years old and sitting on the couch watching MTV every day after school hoping I'd catch this song. Maybe because it was animated but I found Jon's voice to be absolutely spellbinding at that age.
I was about 8 when this came out. My dad listened to the local alt station ALL the time. As a kid, I was almost scared of this music. At 12 I developed, ( partially thanks to Queen of the Damned, which soundtrack also featured Jonathan Davis ) a love for rock and alt music, fully fell in love. Best part, I had already subconsciously memorized most of the lyrics I'd been hearing for years . I'm turning 35 this year and that SAME station my dad used to listen to when I was younger than 10, is still my favorite station.
Same my dad was a raging metal head and some of my earliest memories is me begging him to put the "cartoon metal song" on I was obsessed. I think those were key bonding moments for him and I and I've loved korn so dearly since then
I know everyone has already beaten this exact fact to death, but from 3:05-4:05 is low-key rage induced, fearsome, pure insanity. This entire track is just amazing.
Is Jimi Hendrix old people music? Lots of people over 65 love Hendrix. Yet young musicians still model off Hendrix and others from that era, so yes... it's funny to see big change. Eventually, young people will have to get off on Lawrence Welk. It will be the only legitimate way to rebel existing cultural fixations. For those of you too young to remember Welk: ruclips.net/video/byJDC7vNV7Q/видео.html

Let's be honest. Everyone loves this song for this 3:05 one of the sickest breakdowns of any nu metal song
I'm honestly willing to go so far as to say it is the single best breakdown to come out of Nu Metal. The buildup and release is outright perfect.

Something I've just noticed and everybody will glance at is just how expensive the music video must have been to produce. Not only you got 2d animation and special effects with the bullet and the way it hits stuff, but also the sets themselves, varied with lots of props and a lot of extras. Props to the production team for producing a pretty cool- looking music video.
The shit they had to do back in the day to beat Backstreet Boys and **NSYNC on TRL

Christine Vanderheiden Good for you then. Personally I prefer Chester Bennington from Linkin Park when it comes to best singers but to each their own

I did the same as a teen . Waiting this kind of music in front of tv xd
