Thanks so much, Pretty Webz. Lovely and calm, clear, step-by-step instructions, perfect pacing. I'm sure if you were a duck you would have Pretty Webfeet! : )
@@PrettyWebzMedia great way to ensure each square was to size. My slices kept coming up short but because you showed how to check the size and position of each slice, that changed everything.
Thanks! I’m glad this was helpful. I’m also open to suggestions if there is anything specific you want to see for Adobe and Office softwares let me know.
@@PrettyWebzMedia Really appreciate you taking the time to reply me 🥰. I'm just starting out as a content creator and I find myself creating folder after folder of all these photos and footage with no good way or system of organizing them - the stuff that i use are like all over the place, haha! It'll be awesome if you could share possible ways that we could streamline our workflow, through the use of templates and root files and folders. Loved how you organised your desktop btw. You seem like you're a pretty neat person!
Thank you for this tutorial. I had one problem implementing the slices by hand ( I couldn't get the slices even) I became frustrated, about to give up, but then I decided to use the slice select tool and noticed that it had divide at the top. I selected divide and divided my image evenly horizontally and vertically. I use to use the slice tool way back in Adobe CS days to create myspace div overlays but I had no clue that I could use it to seperate images for instagram. Thank you for your helpful tutorial. I subbed.
I used slices when I designed websites in Photoshop, it just made sense to use them to cut up an image for an Instagram puzzle. BTW someone left a comment that might be a little easier, check out Diego Daly's comment if you want. Here's what he said "create guides snapped to 1/3 grid and then click on "slices from guides" this might be more accurate, I haven't tried it yet.
@@PrettyWebzMedia Thats a way to do it as well. The way I suggest is completely automatic and doesn't involve creating the slices yourself. The slice tool has a feature that divides the slides into however many slices you want without the hassle of clicking to create them.
Great tutorial, thanks! Wondering if you or anyone can help me. When I clicked "save" some of the boxes were merely a thin line and not the 1080x1080 image I created. I did go back in and click with the slice tool to manually correct the size of each box before adding my graphic imagery. wish I could upload a screenshot. thoughts on how I can correct?
Yay, that's what I aim for! As for the desktop wallpaper, I do have a video for this, I show you how to make the wallpaper and how to use stickies and other apps, you can watch it here: ruclips.net/video/LeWE3Cy2YVQ/видео.html
hey, great tutorial! quite straightforward, thank you very much. So good that the only question I have is which app/software you use to manage your desktop? I so need it!
Lol, I get this question a lot. I have a video on this wallpaper here: ruclips.net/video/LeWE3Cy2YVQ/видео.html I made the desktop wallpaper in Photoshop and use other apps like stickies and folders to organize.
greate tutorial. Thank you! 2 questions: how we can change the names of ALL boxies AND does it possible to invert the sequence of numbers (to make the last image/box #1 and give the last number for the first box). TNX
Great video. Thank you. How do you do a seamless grid where you do say 36 images starting from the bottom right corner ending at the top left corner but you have a pattern spreading out over the top final 3 columns and then you want to start another 36 images and you want to match that hangover from the last 3 images?
I’m not sure if I understand completely but if you want the design to be seamless, the top of your first row will have to match up to the bottom of your last row. Just keep that in mind when placing objects and frames. Also, the easiest way to do this is to match up the background with a seamless pattern but leave the top and bottom edges clear of objects and frames.
This is very helpful, one thing i want to ask what's next? how to upload these photos from macbook to my instragram account? I have a business account so is there any easyway to upload photos from laptop to instagram on daily basis?
You can use an Instagram scheduler such as Later or Tailwind to schedule your posts in advance. I don’t know if any do automatic posting but you can upload and create captions in advance.
Hi there, thanks very much for the great video. I have one big question - If I created a 3,6 or 9 grid layout on Instagram. And add another image after that, it breaks the grid up. Do you know any way to get around this? Thanks
This is the annoying part of using a puzzle, here are a few things you can do. First, make sure that every image has something interesting to look at and fits with the story you're telling (your description) Second, use the rule of three, upload three at a time or three images close together. When you end the theme, your next three will have to be close too so you don't have an awkward feed. Third, if you're continuitng the theme make sure your first row and last row don't have any elements that cut off at the top or the bottom so you can start over or start with something new. Also, you might want to to try a visual planner like Planoly, I think it's free and it will show you what the feed will look like before you post. I hope this helps and thanks so much for watching!
Command+delete (MAC) Ctrl+backspace (PC) This will fill the selected layer with the background color. To fill with the foreground color use the alt/option key instead of command/Ctrl
I'm not sure why this would happen, you may have set up your document . In the presets drop-down menu, on the top right, choose jpg (low, med, or high) it should change. You can also try Export>Export As>and choose JPG in File Settings. I found this community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop/save-for-web-error/td-p/8939936?page=1 it might be helpful as well if you're having problems with your software.
Using the Slice Select Tool, change the slice name by clicking the Edit Slice Options. When saving, each slice will be saved following the name order you have set
I believe that using your pulse or point precision to create the slice square might not be too accurate, I rather create guides snapped to 1/3 grid and then click on "slices from guides"
If you started with a new document you should have only one slice by default. To clear other slices (user slices and layer-based slices) choose “View” from main menu at the top then “Clear Slices” hope this helps.
saved my life even after 2 years.
I’m glad it helped.

Love this video! I can't seem to download the template from the site for some reason?
Can't find it or it won't download?
Great tutorial, however, I wish it was updated to reflect changes in PS -- save for web is no longer available.
It’s still there, they just moved stuff around, it’s under “export” now

You can change the name and numbering by double clicking on the blue number in the corner of the slice. This will bring up a menu for naming options.

Hi , Thank u for this video.but I wanna ask u hows save each image as individual ?
from the menu, file>>export >>save for web (legacy) will create an "images" folder with each of the slice saved as a separate file

How did you make JPG format as default option in export as web? I have gif instead and when I switched to jpg it wont export. I received an error.

Me: Skip
why are the white numbers in the blue not in order as I slice them?
