How does the Neo X round wheel compare with the Asetek round wheel comfort+? I have La prima button box with the round rim. The grip size/circumference of the rim feels small. I'm thinking of switching to the Neo X with a round wheel. Do you know which one as a larger grip size? Also is there more flex to the Neo X compared to the La Prima button box?
Hey, the wheel I used with the NeoX wasn’t a Simagic wheel-it was from Advanced Sim Racing. I found it very comfortable, though I haven’t tried Asetek’s Comfort+ wheel yet. That said, I assume it’s similar to the leather round rim I have from Asetek, which is decent, but I personally find the Advanced Sim Racing wheel more comfortable. Hope that helps!
I like it but its built a bit cheaper then im used to from simagic. I just hope we see more high end stuff from them also. The entire releases coming up are all budget stuff. Ok almost all of it with some very limited mid range stuff. I get that the gt neo was a hit and everybody loves it including myself. I just hope we see some of that oldschool simagic design and hugher end stuff. The active pedals will be nice! But I want like a new flagship wheel thats all metal with cf. No plastic etc like there older stuff. Just hope there switch isnt to full budget/mid range items. Even the up+ wheelbase they stated was for people to be able to come over to simagic and not have to pay to much. So it wont be replacing the alpha series which is nice. But I wonder about the future and which direction they will go. Awesome review
@simracingden yeah I get it for money but I didn't think simagic would be that way. When thwy started getting compared to simucube but as a much better price they then switch up? Its good for sure and will work in that way but I can see corners starting to get cut which will start reducing quality and it may not last for long term solutions if the quality dips. What made them get here was the attention of how insane the quality of build they had and there wheelbases are not how good there budget stuff is. Yes the gt neo gave them a massive push but if they didn't have the quality rumors going around it wouldn't have worked out. So its a balancing act I hope they don't rely just on budget stuff. Imo it will hurt the brand overall. May not do it to there wallets but yeah. I was expecting like fx pro quality on some stuff but even the wheel replacing that is more of a gt neo style. Plastic etc.
Good review. I’m looking at this and the GT Neo for my VRS base but due to the reduced button count and odd thumb encoder position I think I’ll just get the GT.
@@simracingden Sorry! Please don't, (as always) it's a great review. I only noticed it because I was putting a Simagic S logo sticker on the back of my seat only yesterday.
To make a system like this work you need QR on the hub for wheel change. Most players don't want to sit with Allen screws and 10min of job just to play dirt 2.0 for 1 hour and later on do same thing again to play GT cars...
Honestly, it takes about 2 minutes, maybe less, to swap a rim. You only need 3 screws to secure it anyway. I agree that swapping wheels by QR is obviously more ideal, but for those on a limited budget who want to use different rims, this could be the answer.
It doesn’t take 10 mins. That sounds like a complete embellishment just to try and find fault. The whole premise of this design is for sim racers that want wheel options without having to purchase combo kits. I recently purchased the Pro K hub with the C (GTC) combo. I ordered a 325D (K) and 330R (K). The total price was -$550. That give me options and cost less than other competitors for a hub wheel combo. I immediately swapped out the C for the D. It took maybe 2 mins. Having options like this from Simagic makes it more affordable for the masses and grows the overall sim racing community. That’s ideal
Naaahh I'll wait till Moza releases one so I don't have to use this stupid cord. I thought they meant complete support for 3rd party bases. This solution might work for someone who only does GT or formula racing. Drifting and rallying aren't gonna feel great with a cable flying around.
"control placement could be more ergonomic & your experience will vary it depending on wheel rim" Literally missed the whole point of the hub it is versatile for multiple rims. All i heard on this was a privileged ungrateful guy, monotone...... i am a robot
That’s a pretty big stretch. Just because he acknowledges that in his opinion a single thing could improve he’s ungrateful and privileged? I got mine today and agree with him. It’s a compromise of the design, to be more adaptable it’s less ergonomic.
Incredibly priced! - with a lot of functionality for its price again, like the GT Neo.
DNR support coming soon 🙏🏻🚗🏁
With DNR support even better!! 👌🏻
Awesome review!
Thanks man!

Great review! Wondering if the turn 305 is too small for this hub. Is the 320 a better choice?
Thank you! The Turn 305 actually felt ok but 320 might be the better choice with a bit more clearance.

Thanks for the feedback, I think you’re right they seem to be focusing on the more budget friendly side of things.

The NeoX Hub also comes equipped with their own QR.
Yes sorry, I edited my comment.
Great review, but the Simagic logo being the wrong way round on the D shape rim is messing with my OCD.
Took me long to notice 😂
🤦♂️
Oops! Well now it’s messing with my OCD makes me want to redo the whole video I at least have to update the thumbnail now 😂

Haha! All good it’s one of those logos that’s not super obvious which is the right way up
