I’m a Alpha Mini and GT4 wheel owner. I’m coming from my old Fanatec Club Sport V2.5 and various wheels that were upgraded to a Moza R9 and GS wheel. The R9 was decent, but it did feel a little “notchy” to me. I decided to get rid of the Moza stuff and try Simagic about 6 months ago and it is the best experience I’ve ever had with sim racing gear, so far.
About a month ago I switched from the Fanatec ecosystem (CSL DD, club sport v3 pedals) to Simagic (Alpha Mini, P1000 pedals w/ hydraulic & haptics, DS-8X shifter) and I couldn't be happier. I autocross a track-only Porsche 914 with a manual transmission and no power steering or power brakes. Feeling is very important to me and the Fanatec gear just felt bland & limp. Will/BM team - thanks for all your detailed reviews. I'm in the process of deciding what base and wheel combo to upgrade to from my old G920 and the level of detail you provide is always very impressive. A lot of reviews are very surface level and and won't even cover basic things like mounting options properly. They just gloss over it in 2 seconds without actually showing anything. You and the team are always very thorough, unbiased and are my go to guys for reviews. Keep up the great work!
Good to see that you've given simagic another chance Will and that your differences have been sorted for the most part. Really good and honest review. Thanks for that. Been a very happy simagic user for two years. Using the alpha mini and Gt4 wheel. Never had any complaints.
Not going to lie, I have a set of HE Ultimate+ currently but the P1000 set with its modularity, and the haptic motor and inverted option really has me thinking. Not to mention the hydraulic kit as well. It really is a great concept and based on all the reviews I have watched seems very well thought out by Simagic.
I have moza shifter and R5 base, HV sprint pedals and Simagic hand brake. the hand brake is awesome and I have recommended their wheel base in the past.
Great and very informative review as usual Will well done, and very glad you are back reviewing Simagic again. My experience with Simagic is been really good, I've had the fortune of testing most of their products and kept some for my own simracing and out of the box everything just screams quality. From material selection to military grade buttons I cannot fault any of it and everything seem to works like clockwork. When you start comparing prices, is hard to find anyone else who offers what Simagic does. Software have also been heavily updated and now working really well too. I personally cannot recommend Simagic enough.
Glad you mended fences. Would like to see you do real comparisons to higher end & lower end products. It would help people to see your view on the good & bad of all the products. Keep inspiring people 👍😊
Hi everyone/Will @Boosted Media, Just joined Simagic ecosystem yesterday as I decided to replace my moza gear with simagic. I ordered a simagic mink plus p1000 pedals alongside FX and GT Pro round wheel. Quite disappointed with the gt pro. The leather assembly is different from the one shown in the video. The bottom and side sections of leather are not a whole layer of leather but they are cut there the perpendicular element of the wheel is and they're just glued on that small section. The cut of the leather is quite visible. The Moza RS V2 is completely different in leather stitching and assembly. It's all one layer of PU leather with stitching all around and no cut and joint pieces. I've posted images on Simagic reddit. Very disappointed for a 500+£ wheel and none of this seems to be in reviewers videos. Simagic changed their quality level?
I wanted to get the CSL DD soon after it was released but couldn't stomach the 6 month wait time so I ordered a Mini, GT4, and GT1, it took 1 week to arrive and they're still holding up strong almost 2 years later 👍
Good to see that Simagic is back on BM. One of the brands I would consider to replace my CSL DD, which is not bad, but still I was sure to go to another brand after it, however, Fanatec is introducing new wheelbases and finally has a good QR, so they are back in the picture too. Things have gone fast, not too long ago I was on the (pretty good) T300 and a DD-wheel was a dream, but way too expensive, look at all the options we now have. :-)))
I also went from a csl dd 8nm to the 15nm simagic wheelbase and it has been one of the best things I have done for my rig since I added motion! Highly recommend simagic
I’m in the same boat, was looking to upgrade to Asetek or simagic, but with the new DD clubsport having 15nm, a high slew rate and haptic feedback I’m waiting for reviews and if there good I’ll pull the plug.
It is a financial thing for me really, the fact is that when I switch to another brand, I need to buy a new wheel also, and I would rather use my Clubsport hub on the new base. So if the 12nm base (they will make a 12nm and 15nm version) is good, then that might be the cheapest option. It will depend on the reviews, so big responsibility for Will ;-), but the new QR seems to be good, and that is really needed because the QR1 is not great. Good news is that the first impression of a German reviewer called Ron is good. It has various improvements over the CSL DD, but we will have to wait for the reviews to come in of course. :-)@@lukefisher328
I think your issue with AMS2 is in the setup in the AMS2 options in controls. I'm pretty sure you have to start with the "Generic DD" or whatever it is called for the base to be recognized. Also, with SImagic you can use whatever wheel you fancy to use with USB or bluetooth
I love the handbrake but i can’t find it anywhere online but it’s a must buy for me. Simagic wheels are really good quality especially for how affordable they are compared to the competitions.
@@rpm10k. The gts wheel is $339 us or $450 cad I pre order it so I got it for $420 with tax vs $540cad I paid for the gt3 with the clubsport qr taxes and import cost are huge because fanatec ship from the us to canada and thats the cheapest ok wheel fanatec sell and it full made of plastic vs aluminium of the gts.
Your videos have been so instrumental. I just completed your recent full comparison of all brands that was great. After all Your videos I’ve landed on simagic setup for my first ever sim setup. Only piece in lacking and can’t solve for is which rig/chassis I need to go with to support the alpha, p1000 pedals and simagic shifter and e brake. I’ll be found a little bit of all (GT, F1, drift, arcade like stuff) little bit of it all and not sure what would be a good cockpit to support that and be able to mount the simagic setup too with ease. Leaving three curved monitor setup Antonio’s against one big curved one. This will be my first system. Not overly limited in budget but I’m also logical 😊 You guys should offer and service for consulting builds 1:1 I’d def pay for that
I’ve had my simagic set up for a year now and I can say this is the best you can get for the money. The P2000 pedals are good, solid set. I have the 100kg sensor and that’s more than enough. I have the Mini although I wish I would’ve gone for the Alpha, not just for the overall more power but to keep temps lower. The software is great now, I never had the base go crazy on me like I have seen some fanatec do. Overall I would recommend it based on my own 1 year experience.
@boostedmedia I just bought the 1000i pedals and they are great. One thing to note is there seems to be know way to adjust the pedal start position forward and back. In my case I like a bit of brake travel so when you heel toe the accelerator is too far in front of the brake to be comfortable. Only solution I found is spacing the brake pedal face forward off the pedal stem…which isn’t ideal.
Pedal follow light setting might be pretty good for streamers / content creators with pedal cams. Gives viewers visuals of how the brakes are being used
Thanks, Will. I am looking forward to your full review of the P1000 pedals. They have been receiving very high praise in the past few months but no one is as thorough as you. @BoostedMedia
Vidéo d'une grande transparence et avec une belle vision professionnelle. Je découvre votre chaîne et prends énormément de plaisir à découvrir les produits à travers vos analyses. Merci
Thank you for the video. I was thinking whether I should upgrade my csl DD to clubsport DD or switch to Simagic Alpha. I also wanted to buy a round wheel since now I only have formula style but seeing Fanatec having the QR2 for clubsport wheels for full price while QR1 is free (sold out atm) is a joke. So after this overview i'm glad I decided for Simagic.
This video comes at just the right time, I'm hesitating between a Simagic Alpha Mini and a Moza R12. There are also the new Fanatec bases, but this brand doesn't particularly appeal to me.
Better motor and higher bit rate encoders on Alpha mini. R12 feels weaker than the mini. Don't judge based on published numbers alone. Also as Will pointed out, consider the better mounting options from the Alpha mini.
Nice to see you break it all down - I have to admit that Simagic is among my top choices when I think I'll finally have the funds to purchase a new set up in 2024, but with Fanatec FINALLY releasing QR2, along with those new CS DD's... Ugh, the decision doesn't get any easier. I guess now I wait until those new wheel bases start making the reviewing rounds to see if the early hype turns out to be real...
So glad you got to finally review simagic! I have had the ultimate and the fxpro wheel for over a year now and absolutely love it. Now you have convinced me to sell my sprints and get those sick ass looking pedals lol. Great review! Thanks
Love my p1000 pedals, Opened up far more precise driving for me over my last two sets of Fanatec pedals. The build quality is stunning, and the haptic motors I have set up to give feedback via simhub for ABS activation or wheel lock on the brake, and the rev limiter on the throttle. This gives me immediate feedback to either modulate my brake or change gear. Best purchase I've made in quite awhile and I'm now looking at the Alpha wheelbase and a couple of wheels. Would it be considered that the alpha and the mini behave identical apart from the nm?
I think this comment just sold me on getting haptic bedals. Wheel lock is massive, finally some feedback for pedals. Can you put one haptic feedback per pedal or also for example a high frequency rumble for wheel lock and low frequency rumble for ABS?
Proud owner of the shifter. Higher priced than the mainstream but not expensive as BDH and above. A great middle ground. The SHH is good but for half the price of the Fanatec, it shows in feel of the materials as it is 3D printed. The shifts are more solid than a Fanatec but not as good and accurate as the Simagic. The short throw of the SHH is not ideal for me. I like the longer throw on the Simagic. I had to adjust the height of my Simagic to get that perfect throw loving it. One thing Simagic can learn from SHH is that there shouldn't be locked gears for 7th and 8th IMO. I like to setup dogleg gears for classic cars but then again, those vehicles usually max out at 5th gear. however, there are 6 gear vehicles I would love to keep in dogleg configuration.
After doing my research (involving plenty of Boosted Media content) I decided to go Simucube (with an Ascher wheel) and HE pedals - I'm really happy with that choice. I got the feeling that some of the Simagic YT "reviews" were influenced by the company - this was a red flag to me. Kudos to you for maintaining your integrity. I am tempted by the Simagic H-Shifter though - looks well designed and built.
I got an Alpha U about six months ago with the GT Pro Hub (including a GT1-R round rim) and the FX-Pro, originally considering Fanatec or Moza. I have not once regretted it since purchasing. In all fairness, however, my previous wheel was a Logitech G920.
@@Chidorin I mostly run it at 14 Nm, and that feels like enough for me, however I wouldn't mind turning it up a bit for more feel, and I didn't get it specifically for high torque, I got it to minimize clipping no matter what torque I wanted to run it at, even up to, say, 20Nm. I do have it set so that it can still use full torque if ever there's a big enough bump, but I would safely say that the Alpha, or even the Alpha Mini, would definitely be enough for most people
@@1nc0gn3to1The La Prima would be a better pick if you are in plenty of endurance leagues or just want to serve you for a long time, however between the Simagic Alpha (15nm) and the Asetek Forte (18nm), I would 200% reccomend the Simagic Alpha.
The CS DD would be the best base followed by the Mini and the R12 being very close now with the new moza algorithm. The Alpha would be better than the cs dd imo and id only get the cs dd if you are happy to buy QR2s
I'm still rocking my M10 with P2000 pedals, and have been considering the TB-1 and DS-8X. I think I will hold off and snap this TB-RS handbrake instead. Also with the Sigma Cortex you can use this gear with PS4 and PS5. That is so slick. Thanks for the overview Will, great video.
Awesome stuff, mate! Thanks for this review many of us were waiting for. Btw - have you heard of the Bavarian SimTec wheels? I have one and it’s amazing, so I was wondering if you’re working on a review behind the scenes. Keep up the great work!
I’m on the simagic system and for their price nothing can beat their pedals or wheelbase, they’re clear winners. Moza have better wheels and cheaper imo, their wheels would be better for my use personally also. Moza handbrake is great and their shifter too actually. Fanatec I didn’t really like anything I’ve tried more than simagic or moza. In a perfect world I’d have mostly simagic with a moza wheel and handbrake I think. Just based on what I’ve tried
Lol so you told me you won’t cover simagic product again but here you are covering it again, but never the less can you make a video on FFB settings per game with the new software 🙏🏼
Simagic is a major player in the game and one of the higher end brands it makes sense for him to make up with them as it’s hurting he’s channel just as much as it’s hurting them him not covering simagic gear
@@offdapace2627 true but I already got my simagic gear I was going for the mini but put in the extra for the alpha if I had the money I would have went for the alpha U but I’m happy with it oh and the GTS wheel
Great review! I picked up my Alpha mini along with the PRO Hub & rim about 4 months ago (with the Fanatec CSL elite v2 pedals); my first real sim wheel so I can't quite compare to other wheels & ecosystems, but I love it! Everything feels of quality, and with the software itself I don't have any issues besides the rev lights occasionally not working (but that may be an issue with syncing on my end). I also notices some strangeness with the stitching on wheel like you said; where my left thumb sits the excess thread came loose, but I never pull it or cut it as I don't want to mess it up more, and it has not gotten any worse in dozens of hours of use. It all sits extremely sturdy on my GT Omega Apex w/ office chair rail attachment. The discord community is very helpful, especially for a noob like me shortly after I purchased, and has a solid preowned marketplace. Hoping to pick up a manual shifter and formula style wheel opposed to the circular one seen here. If you're in a financial position to spend so much on a hobby then I would highly recommend! Both Moza & Fanatec have come out with some newer, potentially better options since my purchase but to any prospective buyers I don't think you will be disappointed.
Mate ever reviewer who tested the moza r12 vs simagic mini said moza is actually lacking lots of detail and a lot weaker then the simamgic. Basically moza is shit compared to simmagic😊
Hey man, great video. You mentioned lubricating fixes the squeaky brake issue. I'm using the P1000i with the inverted hydraulic braking system and getting some major squeaking. Where exactly would I lubricate the brake?
Before or after the official release? I've already pre-ordered it so I'll try it no matter what, but I'm curious to see what you'll say. Your reviews are the only ones worth watching.
I also had some issues from a distributor point of view when they were onboarding me in the Canada area. They didn't offer to resell a unit directly either to test the ecosystem. The minimum order was far too high to put trust in becoming an immediate distributor.
That's not your BMW in the backgrond! Damn you have great taste in cars, and youur video production has always been at the same imaculate standard! Keep up the great work
Alpha Mini owner here: One interesting thing to mention, the Alpha Mini base was actually measured at 12Nm max torque by the iRacing developement team, there is a forum post about it. So you can run it at 12Nm max torque setting in sim, nice to see to even get a bit more for your money for free. Maybe it is not advertised with this spec due to not being able to sustain that maximum force constantly over a long holding time, like fanatec is bragging about with ther upcoming Clubsport DD bases.
Did the issues with Simagic creep up again? I noticed there are no review videos so far and you mentioned the items are just loaners. A little bit of clarification would be nice as there are loads of other reviews since then, but not a single Simagic one.
I dont think they are having beef again, especially after how much improvement Simagic did. Besides the Simagic FX Pro and the Q1 shifter, idk what else is there to review.
I picked up some p1000 from my buddy and he has the brake extremely stiff. Curious how yours was setup since I saw travel. I like the quality of these though.
Love my Simagic Alpha Mini and wheel. One day I'd love to get the pedals and the shifter/handbrake and a new wheel! edit: I also heard that the Alpha Mini is actually rated closer to 12-13nm. Some people have tested it themselves apparently, but I don't have a absolute source for that claim.
Im a fan of the quick release. Im using the Moza quick release on my Simucube 2 pro. Software support in my opinion on existing products is the best with Simucube. Moza brings new bases and dont really keep improving older or existing version of bases.
Lol Moza copied that QR system from Simagic. Simagic came out with that in 2018 before Moza even started. Moza basically copies from all the other brands but mostly Fanatec and Simagic. It's quite obvious when you look at it.
@@wangte27 lol its an NRG quick release, so simagic did not invent anything except their own wireless protocol. Moza sells it for cheap so that why I buy theirs nothing to do with brand.

@SaxmanUSMC did you ever try the P1000? I'm trying to decide between the HE U+ and P1000
Great first look. I’ve got a few of their products. Their stuff is fantastic for the price.
Love my alpha, gts and p2000 :)
Something interesting is that iracing itself has tested the mini and measured it at 13.3nm peak so it’s high up in the range of sweet spot
yeah, and that’s like to be the best dd base one needs for no future updates
the new firmware has put the torque back at 10nm in exchange for more detail.
@@FatswellSmart
Loads of people are saying this but where has this been verified
@@Max__apex the new firmware more or less has fixed it and i'm back to begin a happy camper
thanks you i was going to moza i changed my mind and get this full set
I bit the bullet a while back and bought that shifter. Though pricey, I'm so glad I did it. The thing feels amazing and I never miss shift anymore
Glad you mended fences.
Would like to see you do real comparisons to higher end & lower end products.
It would help people to see your view on the good & bad of all the products.
Keep inspiring people 👍😊
Hi everyone/Will @Boosted Media,
Just joined Simagic ecosystem yesterday as I decided to replace my moza gear with simagic.
Keen to see new review on Simagic this year with the changes they have implemented.
I upgraded from Fanatec to Simagic, and I wouldn't go back to be honest
I also went from a csl dd 8nm to the 15nm simagic wheelbase and it has been one of the best things I have done for my rig since I added motion! Highly recommend simagic
You wont regret it, Fanatec is so behind now days its not even funny, even with their new QR2 system.
Very keen for the in depth reviews on the products
I'm upgrading from T300.. My mini and FX-Pro will be coming in tomorrow! can't wait to set it up..
you will love it!
All of it looks awesome. Thanks for highlighting their products!
Just bought my first sim kit from simagic, cant wait for delivery
I think your issue with AMS2 is in the setup in the AMS2 options in controls. I'm pretty sure you have to start with the "Generic DD" or whatever it is called for the base to be recognized. Also, with SImagic you can use whatever wheel you fancy to use with USB or bluetooth
Thanks for including Simagic in your reviews Will.
I love the handbrake but i can’t find it anywhere online but it’s a must buy for me. Simagic wheels are really good quality especially for how affordable they are compared to the competitions.
Affordable? Their wheels are all like $500
Oh damn, another eco system to throw in the pot for to try and decide which way to go.
Thanks for the review.
Your videos have been so instrumental. I just completed your recent full comparison of all brands that was great. After all
Your videos I’ve landed on simagic setup for my first ever sim setup.
Not overly limited in budget but I’m also logical 😊
You guys should offer and service for consulting builds 1:1 I’d def pay for that
GT omega has a 80/20 rig at a good price
I’ve had my simagic set up for a year now and I can say this is the best you can get for the money. The P2000 pedals are good, solid set. I have the 100kg sensor and that’s more than enough. I have the Mini although I wish I would’ve gone for the Alpha, not just for the overall more power but to keep temps lower. The software is great now, I never had the base go crazy on me like I have seen some fanatec do. Overall I would recommend it based on my own 1 year experience.
Hi Will, great video as usual and would love to see your comparison between the alpha u and simucube 2 pro
I would also like to see how much better it is than an entry level option like the Cammus C5
Just purchased the other simagic handbrake as never had one to try before. Glad to hear and see that they have made some progress.
Gives viewers visuals of how the brakes are being used
Pedal lighting! Very cool.
Merci
My p2000r pedals are amazing, they did a great job with them
Thank you for the video.
Did the same upgrade, what a difference enjoy.
@@wangte27 Thanks for your comment. I will take it into consideration when making my choice 👍
Simagic is my favorite brand of simracing hardware rn, p1000i-rs pedals are insane.
just one thing, vw/audi/porsche has a push-down reverse gear so all the shifters come natural to me. Great video.
In all fairness, however, my previous wheel was a Logitech G920.
what’s your ffb strength? is there a need in U when there is mini?
@@Chidorin I mostly run it at 14 Nm, and that feels like enough for me, however I wouldn't mind turning it up a bit for more feel, and I didn't get it specifically for high torque, I got it to minimize clipping no matter what torque I wanted to run it at, even up to, say, 20Nm. I do have it set so that it can still use full torque if ever there's a big enough bump, but I would safely say that the Alpha, or even the Alpha Mini, would definitely be enough for most people
I'm incredibly undecided between simagic mini and the asetek La Prima. Any Advice?
Im in same boat. Would love this comparison.
@@1nc0gn3to1The La Prima would be a better pick if you are in plenty of endurance leagues or just want to serve you for a long time, however between the Simagic Alpha (15nm) and the Asetek Forte (18nm), I would 200% reccomend the Simagic Alpha.
I would love to see you do a pure blind test with bases and see where you rank them all
Hi Will, thank you for the video. Can you please compare Alfa mini, R12 and The new fanatec 12 Nw?
In conclusion, yes... it is worth it.
Simagic is the best company for Sim Racing!
Another great video Will. Would love to see some sort of roundup of pedal sets currently on the market.
Looking forward to your P1000 review.
Hi Will, nice overall review. By the way, what's that sporty blue car in the background?
Great video. What is the name of the new handbrake? Can’t find it anywhere… thanks for the help
TB-RS Hydraulic Handbrake
Hey man, great video. You mentioned lubricating fixes the squeaky brake issue. I'm using the P1000i with the inverted hydraulic braking system and getting some major squeaking. Where exactly would I lubricate the brake?
I just used some ptfe lubricant on the shaft
Thanks man
I am so damn hyped for your review on the new fanatec base… 😅 (and a comparison to simucubes bases)
Should be arriving soon hopefully :)
Before or after the official release? I've already pre-ordered it so I'll try it no matter what, but I'm curious to see what you'll say. Your reviews are the only ones worth watching.
Should hopefully be before they start shipping to customers if everything goes to plan

Would absolutely love to see a review on the P1000’s and Alpha U!
Awesome work Will 👍🫡
You guys are awesome. I was looking at p1000s because I've heard good things but was holding off because you guys haven't done anything with them!
I also had some issues from a distributor point of view when they were onboarding me in the Canada area. They didn't offer to resell a unit directly either to test the ecosystem. The minimum order was far too high to put trust in becoming an immediate distributor.
I see the Lotus Emira at the back Will!!

Will, please review the Simagic Alpha Ultimate.
For what it's worth I've got the Ultimate and it's bloody fantastic. It is absolutely worth every cent.
@@SimplifyingIT Good to know, thanks for the feedback.
hey will! can you please review the Simagic Sequential Shifter Q1-S?
Alpha Mini owner here: One interesting thing to mention, the Alpha Mini base was actually measured at 12Nm max torque by the iRacing developement team, there is a forum post about it. So you can run it at 12Nm max torque setting in sim, nice to see to even get a bit more for your money for free. Maybe it is not advertised with this spec due to not being able to sustain that maximum force constantly over a long holding time, like fanatec is bragging about with ther upcoming Clubsport DD bases.
people need to stop advertising this, it's back at 10nm with new simpro. if you want to have the extra 3nm then you will be stuck on old firmware.
On ya Will, Keep on keeping on.😀
Damn... glad I didn't pull the trigger on their original hand brake... The new one looks freaking mint!! Going to be awesome in the upcoming WRC!
alpha mini with 10nm and 13nm peaks seems to be the perfect dd base
How did you get hold of this new handbrake? I can’t find it online, not event in the Simagic website!! 🧐
Gd video looking forward to some reviews on there products. Like the look of the P1000 pedals like the idea of the Haptic feedback
Hi, i just got the ALpha mini, whats your settings for Iracing? for some reason going over the rumble strips i dont feel the ffb like i do in AC?
so is it possibile to connect the hub to pc with other bases? i always read that port is for firmware upgrades and will not work with other bases.
Love your videos, man, always high quality. If possible, could you review the conspit padel?
I picked up some p1000 from my buddy and he has the brake extremely stiff. Curious how yours was setup since I saw travel. I like the quality of these though.
Love my Simagic Alpha Mini and wheel. One day I'd love to get the pedals and the shifter/handbrake and a new wheel!
edit: I also heard that the Alpha Mini is actually rated closer to 12-13nm. Some people have tested it themselves apparently, but I don't have a absolute source for that claim.
Love mine also and yes Im currently accepting donation on some simagic new pedals
@@-racingfan2014 smart guy. So if you get a sim wheel with buttons, add on NRG QR, how do you think the buttons will work on the wheelbase? It's not "just a wireless protocol" but also how power is transferred. The simplest yet most effective ideas are easy in hindsight, so how come nobody thought of doing that before SIMAGIC in 2018? Did you?
@@wangte27 the simucube wireless and battery in wheel that last for years is fine for me. I also dont mind cable to be honest. Not a deal breaker. I have also Moza but wheels and ffb cannot compare, so its a nice invention but not really necessary.
