Been watching a number of reviews on Simagic products and I mildly regret that they haven't come out with their ecosystem a bit earlier. If I was still new at simracing a year back, I totally would have gone with the Simagic ecosystem. Pretty cool to see another good contender in the simracing market nonetheless, competition is always good for us simracers 👍

I was going to say exactly the same thing. I had trouble with my GTC Wheel on the Default Channel 60, but since changing to 82, I have had no more glitches.
I found that when you have mass amounts of stuff like 3 mice hooked to your pc , and over 20 usb options with many wireless, yeah you may have to find the right channel. Standard stuff but people these days like to take something amazing and pick one little thing and run with it to justify the current culture of hating almost everything and being miserable = being cool.
I hope the new pins added to the QR are actual USB and a hardware update for Simagic wheelbases with USB pass-through support is on the way. Asetek should not relax :)
The FX-C wheel does have shift light, but it’s built into the simagic simray light in the wheel. It’s actually very effective and once I got it set up correctly I really like it. To one thing I wish simagic would do with the fx-c wheel is allow you the dim the lights around the rotory switch’s because they are much brighter than the buttons once you install stickers on the buttons
I always like your comprehensive reviews Will. I am in the Simagic eco system and own quite a lot of their products. Not sure I personally need this particular one but there's. Lot of quality in their e product line ESp recently in the past 2 years. I agree with the things u say in your video , the sw is sometimes a bit wonky but overall yeah, the product is quite good quality at a v reasonable price.
I love my Cube Controls wheels, but the price hurts so freaking much. So I wish Simagic good luck, because it might cause others to reconsider their high prices.
I finally made a switch to DD two months ago. I'm so glad I picked Simagic in the end. This is quickly becoming the best ecosystem on the market. Alpha is all I could wish for, FX wheel is perfect, so is the GT Pro Hub with a round wheel. My Fanatec V3 pedals will go away soon, being replaced by P1000 and the DS-8x shifter will follow. And GT Neo? Brilliant. Just brilliant 👍
I actually have mine preordered already. Excited to finally have a proper GT wheel for endurance racing, I've been using my Sim Magic GT1-R oval wheel and it's great, but not ideal for the long road course racing. Happy to hear the review of the Alpha Ultimate is coming out soon! I love mine and am always curious what Will has to say.
I use a round wheel on my alpha mini. What about a wheel of this shape is better for endurance racing? I’ve been wondering what the difference is other than aesthetics.
@@MPurs09 There's nothing "wrong" with using a round wheel but there are definite advantages to using a proper GT wheel for road racing/endurance racing. My oval wheel is large in diameter, which means my hands are further apart and my shoulders are doing more work. On an oval track you are doing way less movement at a much lower frequency. The smaller diameter GT style wheels take those problems and minimize them, making it easier to manager for long stints. Then there is of course the button options and button layout. Oval wheels aren't typically designed with on the fly programming in mind. The different rotary and funky switches on the gt style wheels gives you more options as well as making those options easier and faster to use. At the end of the day you can totally use an oval style wheel (round wheel) I have for a while, but if you can afford to have an extra GT style wheel it's well worth it it I think.
@@adambuzzeo thanks for all the info. I have a somatic round wheel that seems to serve my needs ok for now. But I do see the befits from what you are saying. Seems like a fun option. Thanks again!

Great review Will. I have mine on pre order. I currently have the GTC wheel and wanted something smaller in diameter i think this will fit me perfectly
I think that even if you're in another ecosystem this wheel is a fantastic choice. It puts you in a position where you don't have to care where or when you update bases or switch ecosystems you have a wheel that was built to work with anything. In additional the simhub support can also be great for people who already use it and wont have to have another application running in the background. Overall i think the choices made with this wheel are fantastic and deserve a lot of credit.
Great review Will, can you maybe do a video about how to use the wheel with fanatec and the correct QR needed. Also about to buy but a bit confused with that side. ❤
I ordered this wheel last week and have a Fanatec CSW 2.5 (yeah, I know, old school). I've done some research and have found that you need the Podium Hub from Fanatec and a QR1 . You would use the supplied Simagic adapter plate to mount the fanatec QR1 to the Neo. Apparently, there's an aftermarket emulator that can be used in place of the Podium Hub, but not sure how well that works.
I have the asetek Tony kanaan wheel, which is pretty much their premium product without the carbon fiber and there is just something about this wheel that’s making me want it. Looks great. I do have a spare invicta quick connect now that my aliexpress wheel took a shit on me after 15 days 🤔
I'm about to pull the trigger on the simagic alpha mini bundle with this wheel and the p1000's but wasn't sure if you covered a setup for the PS5? I didn't see a video after a quick search but hope there is or at least one possibly coming. Cheers, love the channel, and thanks for the great detailed review.
Everyone talking so highly of this wheel convinced me to order it and the alpha mini, i been racing with a broken csl elite for like 3 years😂 cant wait.
Just bought into Simagic as a system. I wanted a new base for my fanatec system, but the price of their base, and this wheel, has made me want to just dive 100% into them
I've been looking at upgrading my current Logitech G920 that I've been using the last couple of years. After watching this video and the one from Dan Suzuki, I'm sold on Simagic. The only thing I can't decide on is whether I should get the Alpha Mini or spend a little extra on the Alpha in order to have a little more power if I ever decide that I want to bump it up.
Get the alpha or alpha u. The mini is great but the slew rate is a good bit slower than the higher end variants leading to less micro detail. It also lacks the head room to provide micro detail while heavily loaded mid corner for example.
it depends on your other setup, if you drive rally with a sequential shifter and handbrake only one hand is on the wheel most of the time so the alpha mini is enough . if you race gt3s or something and use paddle shifting then the alpha mini is almost enough but not quite with two hands.
I really can’t wait for mine to ship. As much as I love my FX Pro, I hate how narrow it is. There’s also supposedly a rear panel coming that adds 2 more paddles taking it to 2 clutches and 4 paddles.
So, I'll say this about the KS: It seems the more recent builds have changed a few things: there's rubber dampers and thicker AL for the shifters. The one I bought in Jan24 doesn't sound anywhere near as loud as what you have there.
I have an older version of the Cube Controls F Pro and this is looking just as good as that, I paid about triple what this is for it 3-4 years ago. Magnetic connection also really cool touch, I may have to snag one eventually
Hey, I know you have to do more testing on Clubsport DD, but I was hoping if you can do a video comparing a few DD wheelbases in the $800 category. We usually make purchases on what we can afford, not necessarily by NM rating. So I'm wondering between la Prima (12nm) clubsport DD (12nm), Moza R16 v2 (16nm), Simagic Alpha (15Nm). At that price, which offers the best force feedback? Love the head to head videos you used to make.
As someone who's had an alpha mini for a year now, it's absolutely fantastic. But then again, I had previously had a g27 and it's the only thing I can compare it to. No problems at all in a year of owning it though.
Had an Alpha Mini and GT4 wheel for 2years now and they are as good now as the day they arrived . I have since bought the GTS wheel and P1000 inverted with haptics and cant recommend this eco system enough . Very happy .
This is dropping the bottom out of the GT3-style wheel market. This is a $1000 USD wheel anywhere else in terms of features. And no matter what wheelbase a customer decides to go with, it'll work with it. I could literally slap this on my Thrustmaster TMX with the 3D printed hub adapter (not that it would be worth it to do that, but the important thing is that I CAN do it).
Exciting! Any word on when you’ll be doing a more in depth review of the alpha series wheel bases? I know you mentioned in late 2023 that this was on the agenda 😁👍
As of 9/7/2024, my wheel's RPM display tends to occasionally stop working as well. I have to disconnect and reconnect the wheel to get it working again. Other than that, I think this product is amazing and cant complain about anything else. Best bang for buck wheel on the market.
I am locked into the Fanatec ecosystem and have a 8nm csl dd. I find now I want more fidelity in the FFB I am receiving from the base and I am looking for some advice on open ecosystems for direct drive bases that will be hopefully my last time spending money on a direct drive base. I have also liked your video regarding the HRS quick release from 3 years ago and from forums etc it’s still classed as the best QR for sim racing. I would love to be able to have freedom of movement because Fanatec at the moment just doesn’t cut it when coming to handbrakes shifters etc. I am going to be going the PC route as I have been using my current setup on PS5 for past 2 years and paying extra for PS compatibility is just crippling for the new csl dd + extra 300 euros on website compared to the PC variant. I also have heard that drive hub and the simex Cortez for Simagic adaptors take away feeling from the FFB so no point really especially when a software update could render these devices unusable in future if stuck with PS5. Any advice would be appreciated. Software for direct drive base as well as support from a company is crucial as well for me before I drop money on new system just so much conflicting information out there and if you have any of your videos to watch please link in response for help, and things to consider before buying a new base.
Something important to consider with the F-Core is that the shifters aren't very good (I get a miss shift or two in most races). Cube Controls didn't cut a lot of corners, but the corners they did cut were kind of important. I ended up ordering the upgraded shifters, and adding clutches. You also need the hub in order to mount the F-Core to a 70mm QR. After all that, I have over $800 invested in it. Not exactly entry level or earth shattering value!
I have a moza R5 wheelbase and am thinking about getting the Moza GS Wheel. However I saw the Simagic GT Neo and am heavily considering buying that instead. Any advice?
Any chance we could get a little clarity on the disconnecting issue around 35:30. Are you having wheel disconnect issues while racing or just while in software?
Nice review my friend looking to move away from the Fanatec eco system the £150 podium hubs are ridiculous, this company seems to be able to take many non gaming wheels with a simple £15 QR hub
i was very much considering the f-core and still am even though i have a alpha u base. the fact it has more pronounced button shrouds will be a big benefit for VR use. Even though its very much diminishing returns on the price difference, the higher build quality seems of value to me. the leoxz xgt pro that just released also looks promising given its range of quick release adapters for power off wheel bases and its 2.4ghz wireless adapter for low latency pc connection.
The disconnecting of buttons and the wheel flashing blue LED's is an issue w/ the software. I own the GT4 Carbon, GT Pro Hub and the GTS and all of them have had this happen. It's not very often and seems to only happen when I don't have the Sim Pro Manager open.
2 things, 1. You need to add the price of a metal QR to the Fanatec McLaren GT3 wheel for a fairer price comparison. 2 As far as an option for echo systems that offer a similar wheel, a big selling point of this wheel is if you want the Simhub functionality on your Moza or Fanatec..... setup, which isn't available.
I really want to use this wheel on the Fanatec DD 12nm. But I feel like it will cost extra trying to incorporate it so both the FF and buttons all work :x
Long time watcher first time posting. Love the video and the information is AMAZING. Could you or do you have a list of the best wheel setup/combos for console? I only play on PS% and Xbox and i dont want to waste time researching or money purchasing the wrong stuff.
I've seen some people say you can't easily use these without gloves - is that correct? This is my first wheel so curious if it's a must to invest in gloves... :)
Great video - thanks! Wondering if you can use the funky switches in mouse emulation mode (my old Fanatec wheel can and it effectively means i don't need my mouse to navigate throuth the iRacing UI)?
I bought It and I must say that It is absolutely worth every euro I paid for it. BUT, don't expect premium quality buttons, rotaries etc... They work fine but they are just cheap quality if you compare to a premium wheel. Still a fantastic product, I LOVE It.
Another great review mate ! Love the wheels available by SIM Magic so much so I'm considering them for DD base and wheel. Are you going to review the Alpha DD base?
39:23 - that`s excacly what alpha mini with GT NEO did in my country. Everyone is buying them. Last restock of alphas in the biggest distributor in coutry has gone in 8 minutes. It feels like it gettin even more popular than fanatec here. SimMagic is gettin big on the market.
A similar story is going on back here in Canada but with the FX Pro. They fly off the stocks so hard even when I ordered on the very first day of black friday ahead of everybody else, the distributor ran out of stock after I ordered it.
Where was this a month ago! Feeling buyers remorse now for getting the MOZA KS. Planning to pair it with VRS DD soon. Although MOZA kit is more available in Australia. Noting that Simrigs don't expect orders until April
I have the GT4-C and the lack of thumb encoders and LED’s would be enough to get me to switch over to this. If the GT NEO had been available at the time it would have been a very simple decision.
Ive had my gt1 round simagic wheel disconnect here and there. Same as the gt neo, just a quick pull from the hub and back on fixes it for the rest of the day. I personally would say its just a software issue with simpro2. That is still in beta at the moment. That little issue is not nearly enough for me to complain about my wheel and base. Im sure simagic will just continue to update and optimize as they go.
Long term quality, input differences, button layout, encoder/rotary layouts, maybe a screen, overall features and input combinations, software, ecosystem, etc... There are easily more than 20 things an Ascher wheel has and this one doesn’t. But for the price, this GT Neo looks really good.
Well, I may be wrong on this, but since the wheel itself isn't ps5 compatible, I doubt it would work. If I'm wrong, you'd need a podium hub from fanatec along with the optional maglink thing.
@@rogerdiz3520compability with ps5 is done by wheelbase. Compability from wheel exists in a Xbox. There is a Jardier review of that wheel and he connected it to the fanatec wheelbase. He needed fanatec podium and adapter/cable from simagic. He had problems with how to comfortable use cable but there were tips from people in the comments section. I haven't used that in this setup. I have knowledge about that from Reddit/RUclips. So you shouldn't take my words as 100%right
One of the main things giving me pause is the 300mm diameter. I'm used to a 270mm Fanatec Formula Carbon and almost exclusively drive the W13 in iRacing. I find the sharp and twitchy handling useful for quick corrections as the W13 bites hard and fast. Will I lose some handling fidelity and feel if I switch to this wheel? (I'd get an Alpha Mini base if I did switch)
I’ve got an accuforce V2 wheel base, what all would I need to buy to run this wheel? I’m guessing the 70mm hub and possibly some kind of plug adaptor for the plug in since it is not a usb port on the wheel base?
I've had my Simagic Alpha Mini and GT4 (non-clutch) for about 2 years now, within a year I started to experience connection loss from my GT4 wheel to the wheelbase, at first intermittently but eventually it just refused to connect to the wheelbase forcing me to use the wheel wired direct to my PC. Hopefully when I get my GT Neo that won't be a problem cause I've broken at least 3 cables in the span of a year of both sprint and endurance racing.
Hi! Thank you for all your great reviews! I really like the looks and features of this wheel. I am looking for a formula/gt style wheel and thinking about ordering this. My only concern is if I will maybe find it a little "cheap". I will be comparing it to the build quality of a cube controls gt pro wich i really love the build quality in. But I will use this as my second wheel and most likely its not going to be used as much as my gt pro. I understand that its not an easy question to answer. Would it be worth saving up for maybe an GSI x29 or even a cube controls fpro? Thx again.

I've had it for close to a year now and will keep it until it breaks! It's really good and I never feel like missing out.
On what Newton do you run it? I heard it delivers the power in a unique way
@@John_Rambo864 No idea. It's set at 23 nm in simpro and iracing and I use strength setting between 3 and 5 depending on what car I drive.
Ordered it ❤ simagic Alpha mini and This Perfect wheel - my Dreams come true
I’m searching for a GT formula wheel without having to break the bank after buying a D shaped cube controls and, this Simagic wheel seems to fit the bill perfectly. Thanks for the review!
I have just ordered one for that price it's a no brainer
Good on you simagic for offering us so much in a fair priced wheel
Wow can only imagine what their next wheel will be.
Ya I definitely would have went with Simagic over my Moza R9. Especially with my V1 disconnecting randomly with the CS wheel...
Na Wheel bases are waaay to expensive.
@@polarfoxbrrr3910 theyre within a couple hundred of moza lol. You get what you pay for. The amount that simagic is better is worth the money difference.
I have the simagic FX-C and I love it. So glad I went down the Simagic Ecosystem
The wheel disconnects might have been down to some wireless interference - you can change the channel in Simpro
I was going to say exactly the same thing. I had trouble with my GTC Wheel on the Default Channel 60, but since changing to 82, I have had no more glitches.
dont have issue
this is especially a problem with people with mesh WiFi networks… the moment I paused this on my router the disconnects immediately stopped.
I just keep my gtc hard wired to the base with a coiled cable. Don't ever even notice it there.
Asetek should not relax :)
that would be amazing if true.
The FX-C wheel does have shift light, but it’s built into the simagic simray light in the wheel. It’s actually very effective and once I got it set up correctly I really like it. To one thing I wish simagic would do with the fx-c wheel is allow you the dim the lights around the rotory switch’s because they are much brighter than the buttons once you install stickers on the buttons
thank you for the content. killer as usual. i'm so close to pulling the trigger on a low/mid sim kit...get us updates soon on the simagic bases !
The alpha mini is a SOLID base that I’ve enjoyed sooooo much in the week I’ve had it! Waiting on this wheel to ship!!
@@ASiMRacer I ended up going with Forte wheelbase and sprint pedals, but i'm tempted by the sim magic shifter
Fantastic review, I’ve just ordered one. My GTS Alcantara is amazing but when I get my setup comfortable the top of the rim is at eye level 😂
Mine arrives today! If nothing else it'll force me to get back on the rig.
I actually have the Simagic Alpha Mini base. This wheel is very tempting!!
How do you like the mini? Is it enough power? I'm trying to decide between the Alpha Mini and the Alpha.
@@qweasd77alpha mini user here, it is more than enough. It’s higher than the advertised torque measurements according to iracing devs.
@joshwilles7540 I've been hearing that quite a bit, but still contemplating the Alpha to have a little extra head room.
@@qweasd77 Very happy with it. Good quality, never failed and more than enough power for me. I actually have the ffb setting of iRacing quite low or else my arms and shoulders suffer. 😃
@@qweasd77I have it and it’s my first DD wheel. But I’m never left wanting more power. Sometimes I do turn it down if I’m running a 2+ hour race
Very new to the simagic eco system, this wheel is a no brainer, defo getting one, thanks Will 👍
Everyone talking so highly of this wheel convinced me to order it and the alpha mini, i been racing with a broken csl elite for like 3 years😂 cant wait.
@@gulfcoaster210 I've been leaning more towards the Alpha. I'm thinking that may be more than enough for my first DD wheel.
it depends on your other setup, if you drive rally with a sequential shifter and handbrake only one hand is on the wheel most of the time so the alpha mini is enough . if you race gt3s or something and use paddle shifting then the alpha mini is almost enough but not quite with two hands.
I’ve found the same, bought just after Christmas
Nice video.
I'd love to see you guys doing a video on the bavarian omega pro and hyper p1, side by side review.
Great review as always!!!
When’s the full reviews for the rest of the Simagic gear you’ve been sent previously?
We'll be working our way through it all over the coming months.
@@boostedmedia good to hear, definitely interested in what you think of the Alpha Mini the most
@@josephhutchins8Why? There is tons of videos of the mini….. its brilliant fyi
Looking forward to picking one of these up eventually 👍
I'm in love with this wheel
How does it compare to the moza gs v2p? Does the 5mm carbon faceplate make a big different in structural strenght?
Great review. Hopefully the Alpha Mini review is next as I'm on the fence between it and the Moza R9.
Isn't the alpha mini peak torque of 13 NM? So it should be compared to R12 in this case
@@John_Rambo864 I ended up going with the Simagic Alpha Mini and agree that it should be compared with stronger bases.
@@markthibault8579 congrats to you for getting an awesome base!
This is dropping the bottom out of the GT3-style wheel market. This is a $1000 USD wheel anywhere else in terms of features.
And no matter what wheelbase a customer decides to go with, it'll work with it.
I could literally slap this on my Thrustmaster TMX with the 3D printed hub adapter (not that it would be worth it to do that, but the important thing is that I CAN do it).
how does it compare to the MOZA GS V2P GT Wheel
How would you compare it to the asetek wheels?
Exciting! Any word on when you’ll be doing a more in depth review of the alpha series wheel bases? I know you mentioned in late 2023 that this was on the agenda 😁👍
FX-C wheel doesn’t have the rpm strip as you mentioned, but the Simagic logo is an rpm light, so same thing really.
Can honestly say I haven’t had any problems with mine. Did you try recalibrating them?
I have a moza R5 wheelbase and am thinking about getting the Moza GS Wheel. However I saw the Simagic GT Neo and am heavily considering buying that instead. Any advice?
Looks pretty cool! excited to watch the video
Don't forget about srm wheel emulators and adapter plates for fanatec! Especially if u already have one of fanatec qrs
Any chance we could get a little clarity on the disconnecting issue around 35:30. Are you having wheel disconnect issues while racing or just while in software?
Seems like an amazing wheel, especially for the price.
Is there any word on a new cheaper round wheel? Would love if they brought out a nice cheap round wheel
The simagic GTS is probably your best bet.
Nice review my friend looking to move away from the Fanatec eco system the £150 podium hubs are ridiculous, this company seems to be able to take many non gaming wheels with a simple £15 QR hub
preordered 1 month ago, waiting for shipping ;)
Simagic improved the backlight LED's on this new wheel --- *far better* than the ones used on my FX Pro👍
i was very much considering the f-core and still am even though i have a alpha u base. the fact it has more pronounced button shrouds will be a big benefit for VR use.
Just ordered one!
Novice question: So if I owned an Alpha Mini and wanted to get an irl wheel I would just need to buy the sim magic qr right?
the Simagic QR supports 50/70mm pattern.
Do you really need the mag link adapter if you want to use the Asetek QR? Couldn’t I just plug directly into the USB-C port in the back of the wheel?
How do you sync the light strip with cars in I racing ?
Another great review mate ! Love the wheels available by SIM Magic so much so I'm considering them for DD base and wheel. Are you going to review the Alpha DD base?
We reviewed the alpha years ago. Have the U and Mini here but not a standard Alpha anymore.
Im sure simagic will just continue to update and optimize as they go.
would be nice for you to show the maglink working
Perhaps the good question is : why 1000, 1500, 2000 or more €/$/£ for other wheels ?
Long term quality, input differences, button layout, encoder/rotary layouts, maybe a screen, overall features and input combinations, software, ecosystem, etc... There are easily more than 20 things an Ascher wheel has and this one doesn’t. But for the price, this GT Neo looks really good.
I have a DD pro GT for PS5 and use a McLaren gt3 wheel... Could somebody detail what would need to do / buy to fit this...
Well, I may be wrong on this, but since the wheel itself isn't ps5 compatible, I doubt it would work. If I'm wrong, you'd need a podium hub from fanatec along with the optional maglink thing.
You can buy aftermarket emulators in lieu of the Podium Hub.
Really interested in the simagic eco system, only thing holding me back are the shipping prices
So glad I purchased simagic
Hello, does it fit on a Moza R5 Base?
Quick realese is the same, but you need to buy maglink with gt neo in order to wheel to work.
Thx again.
How does the carbon fiber composite used here compares to the one used in Asetek wheels?
It's plastic composite to look like carbon.
@@KILINGspreebe Both use the same type of composite material. It's described on Asetek's site
It’s the same carbon infused polymer.
@@KILINGspreebeis carbon infused polymer. The same process used for tons of “carbon” components in the high end automobile industry. It has similar tensile strength to weaved carbon fiber while being much more moldable and able to flew without failure.
I've been using my old Logitech wheel for a while and want to get into sim racing a bit more seriously. The budget I have is around $1000 and I'm kind of landing at Alpha mini + GT NEO for the steering wheel combo and a set of those AliExpress pedals (simjack, simsonn), or maybe Cammus LC100. Would you consider this a good combo or should I part the budget a bit differently (with more emphasis on higher quality pedals)?
I Just came from G27, got the mini for my budget. Was going Moza for the budget but the Simagic build gives you more in FFB and detail and is built way better. Glad I went with the Alpha mini. The Neo being less weight will be amazing on the mini. I will order the Neo for sure soon. You will drive better on a DD it's a game changer
I think you have a great combo there. Alpha mini, GT Neo and Simjack pedals. You can add the Simagic Haptics later on. I've seen some diy adapters already
@@pault2417 The wheel I have currently doesn't have any ffb. It used to vibrate when I first got it as a kid (10 years ago, probably even more). Just has those springs to keep it centered so can't wait for the summer to actually order the alpha mini. I think 10NM (given that testing shows 13nm peak torque) will be plenty enough for a while
Does the fanatec qr1 mount to the simagic maglink cause I want to use the wheel with a emulator
